I'm tired of these damn hippie peace-niks (TV)

Daughter's hippie boyfriend meets conservative father Archie for the first time
(The Norman Lear Effect, 4/19/21) Archie's daughter, Gloria (Sally Struthers), has a new boyfriend, a Polish Jewish Chicago hippie named Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner). And she is very excited to introduce him to her mom, Edith (Jean Stapleton), and dad, Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor). But Archie doesn't feel the same way.

Homer & Marge sing their version of the All in the Family theme song ('97)

Daughter chooses radical over conservative men.
From Season 2, Episode 5 "Flashback: Mike Meets Archie." On their first anniversary, Mike and Gloria reminisce (in a flashback) the first time Gloria brought "Meathead" home to meet the man who would become his father-in-law. Available on Amazon. Subscribe to TNLE.

So iconic is this theme song that The Simpsons updated it in 2017.

ABOUT: All in the Family was one of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, Archie is the irascible, highly opinionated, working class family man who viewed the world in his own myopic way, on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie takes refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs. #NormanLear #70s #AllInTheFamily
