Smotrich is the leader of the Religious Zionist Party, previously having participated in war crimes as a Knesset (Jewish Parliament) member for The Jewish Home and Yamina, resigning in 2023 under the Norwegian Law [1], allowing him to remain a minister (high official) in the Zionist government while his parliamentary seat in the Knesset is taken by another member of his extreme right-wing political party.
