Animal World: Seeing through your head

The amazing diversity in the Animal World (tirrachana loka in Buddhist cosmology) is difficult to fathom. Its variety is staggering. Imagine a fish that could see through its own head. The barreleye (Macropinna micro-stoma) is a small fish that lives in the pitch-black of the deep sea. Its eyes can look forward or rotate up to see through its transparent head.
