It all came to a head in Asia's longest-running civil war on the majority Buddhist island of Sri Lanka. In hopes of preserving their ancient religion and culture, some monks (JHU: National Heritage Party) may have gone too far. For they would have in the process engaged in counterproductive activities, disgracing the Dharma and the local Sangha.
