(Black Journals) Women in the past had lust and sometimes went on a power trip, abusing their human chattel (considered "property" by law) as egregiously as the menfolk? That's impossible to believe! Women are meek and mild with Victorian values and an American Puritan streak. Not feeling enough affection or attention from their husbands, who resorted to molesting Black slave girls and raping boys, women slaveowners realized they could do the same thing? Why would anyone be all that surprised that this is exactly the kind of thing slavery leads to?
