After 30 years of being missing, Family Guy's LOST pilot has finally been found! Today let's talk about the major differences between the pilot and what eventually became Season 1, Episode 1 of the series Fox TV ordered from creator and animator Seth MacFarlane.
In the beginning, MacFarlane pitched a 16-minute pilot to Fox in May 1998, and the show was greenlit and began production. Then came the Family Guy controversies. By 2002, Family Guy'scancellation was announced shortly after the third season had aired, with one unaired episode eventually premiering on Adult Swim in 2003, finishing the series' original run. Favorable DVD sales and high ratings from syndicated reruns since then convinced Fox to revive the show in 2004; the fourth season began airing the following year, on May 1, 2005. The end.
