Stained Glass Ceiling broken by woman

Dame Sarah Mullally named as new Archbishop of Canterbury | BBC News
(BBC News) Oct. 3, 2025: Dame Sarah Mullally is set to become the first female Archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England's history. A former NHS chief nurse, the 63-year-old became a priest in 2006 and was appointed as the first female Bishop of London in 2018 -- the third most senior member of clergy in the Church of England.

It is the first time in nearly 500 years of history that the Church nominated a woman to lead it. The Church had been without someone in the top job for almost a year, after Justin Welby resigned over his failure to report a prolific child abuser.

Trump, Harris standup comedy (roast)

Donald Trump full speech at Al Smith Dinner in New York City (Oct. 17, 2024)
(WFAA) Ex-Pres. Donny Johnny Trump delivered humorous remarks [someone else wrote for him] at the Al Smith Dinner, which benefits New York City Catholic charities, in NYC on Oct. 17, 2024.

Cringe: Kamala "I Never Said I Was a Comedian or Actress or Normie" Harris’ skit with SNL Catholic alum Molly Shannon at Al Smith dinner

(New York Post) At this year's Al Smith charity dinner, presidential hopeful VP Kamala got a little help from SNL's "Mary Catherine Gallagher." Ahead of a pre-recorded speech (because she couldn't bother to be there in person, or send liberals Jewish Doug Emhoff and Midwestern Tim Walz, like everyone else except for candidate Walt Mondale), the veep tried to perform a comedy bit alongside Molly Shannon's '90s-era Catholic school girl character from Saturday Night Live. Yikes, at least Trump proved he was not illiterate as he read haltingly and in a stilted manner of a declining senior citizen, the oldest would be prez ever, not from teleprompter screens but old-fashioned cue cards). #kamalaharris #alsmithdinner #mollyshannon

Sexy, violent Catholic Sabrina Carpenter?

What does rense.com mean by this meme?
One has to wonder, Who's the Pope's favorite singer? Ricky Martin? Some Conservative Catholics say Jorge Bergoglio (aka Pope Francis) is not the real pope and is not even Catholic. How could that be? He's Argentinian at least, right? No? Is CEO Bergoglio another Italian name like the other "princes" of the Holy Roman Church (Vatican, Inc)? He probably doesn't like girls, and we know he's not one to judge, but if he did and he were, wouldn't it be Sabrina C? "Feather" is all about sending a pic, one thing Il Papa must enjoy, texting with all his boy fans inside the seminary.

Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella 2024
LYRICS: (Do-do-do) Oh, not another take/ Oh, it's like that,/ I'm your dream come true/ When it's on a platter for you/ Then you pull back when I try to make plans/ More than two hours in advance, mm/ I slam the door, I hit ignore/ I'm saying, "No, no, no, no more"/ I got you blocked, after this, an afterthought/ I finally cut you off// [CHORUS] I feel so much lighter like a feather with you off my mind/ (Ah) Floatin' through the memories like whatever, you're a waste of time (Ah)/ Your signals are mixed, you act like a b*tch/ You fit every stereotype, "Send a pic"/ I feel so much lighter like a feather with you out my life/ With you out my life/ (Do-do-do)/ Like a feather, like a feather, like a feather, yeah// It feels so good/ Not carin' where you are tonight/ And it feels so good/ Not pretendin' to like the wine you like/ I slam the door (Slam the door),/ I hit ignore (Hit ignore)/ I'm saying, "No, no, no, no more"/ I got you blocked, excited to never talk,/ I I'm so sorry for your loss// [Chorus]// (Do-do-do)/ You want me? I'm done/ You miss me? No duh/ Where I'm at, I'm up where I'm at/ You want me? I'm done (I'm done)/ You miss me? No duh (No duh)/ Where I'm at, I'm up (I'm up) where I'm at/ You want me? I'm done/ (I feel so much lighter like a feather with you off my mind)/ You miss me? No duh/ Where I'm at, I'm up where I'm at/ (Like a feather...)

Sam Smith gets Satanic at Grammys: "Unholy"

Need Satan as a fashion statement for the next party at Biden's house? Why not try this brand? lol

Religious nuts LOSE IT over "Unholy" Grammy performance
(The Young Turks/TYT) Feb. 6, 2023. Christian conservatives flipped out over what they called a "Satanic" performance at the Grammys. [Sellouts] Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur discuss on The Young Turks. Watch Jimmy Dore LIVE on weekdays on YouTube for better commentary. Read more: rawstory.com. #TYT #TheYoungTurks #BreakingNews

I like that bear Sam Smith. He's dreamy.
"Singers Sam Smith and [trans artist] Kim Petras delivered a devilish performance at the Grammys on Sunday night, and it has many conservative commentators in a Satanic panic. During the awards ceremony, Smith and Petras performed their song "Unholy," with Smith clad in a top hat featuring red devil horns and surrounded by red-robed female dancers. Conservatives on Twitter reacted with horror to the performance, which they believed was an actual tribute to Satan.

"The Grammys have gone full-on Satan worship right on prime time TV," wrote Newsmax's Benny Johnson."

Sam Smith & Kim Petras‘ ‘Unholy’ Grammys performance deemed ‘Satanic’ & ‘Evil’ by conservatives
Stephen Daw, Billboard, Feb. 6, 2023

Gay? I'm just fashionable like Harry Styles.
As if people weren’t mad enough at the results of the 2023 Grammys, now conservatives [and others] are fired up over two [LGBTQIA] performers wearing devil costumes during the annual telecast.

I like that Sam Smith. He's wicked.
During the ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 5th, 2023), Sam Smith and Kim Petras offered a rousing performance of their hit singleUnholy,” in which Petras [who is a trans person] performed alongside drag stars Violet Chachki and Gottmik dressed in devil costumes, while Smith [who is likely gay] was in a bright red top hat with devil horns sticking out from it for the final chorus.

Instead of celebrating the fact that the pair made history for the LGBTQ community that night, conservative viewers slammed the performances for promoting the worship of Satan.

“I know we on the right probably use the word [S]atanic too often but this performance from Sam Smith is literally a tribute to Satan,” wrote one viewer.

Another added some conspiracy-baiting into the mix, saying Madonna (who introduced the performance) looked like a statue erected in New York City that conservatives have called “[S]atanic” as well. More

Pope Benedict dies. Long live the other guy

TODAY, Dec. 31, 2022; Slayer "Season in the Abyss"; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly COMMENTARY
What if I look like his Dark Majesty, the source of light in the Holy Roman Empire/the Holy See?

The Nazi Pope Benedict
Beloved Pope Saint Francis is safe. If he weren't, we might cry for that guy. But Hitler Youth member, possible Satanist, and almost certainly chronic pedophile priest Pope Emeritus Benedict Arnold (born Joe Ratzinger) has died at 95 to answer a few questions at Saint Peter's gate. Will the Catholic world mourn? Not likely, not much anyway. He was very unpopular. Pope Francis may commit the same crimes, having been a loyal student of Benedict, but he's loveable in a Dalai Lama sort of way.

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI dead at 95
(TODAY) Dec 31, 2022. The Vatican [Corporation] has announced the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI at the age of 95 after failing health. Ex-Pope Benedict was the first pope to resign in 600 years.

I work for Krampus, and I'm Klaus.
[But it is known he was pushed out for high crimes and misdemeanor, not only involving rampant homosexuality and perversity in the priesthood over which he presided but embezzlement and/or other high finance irregularities of the Vatican and its banking partners. He had become an unpopular liability and got to choose between hiding out in the Holy See immune from prosecution or death to save the multinational corporation embarrassment and dues paying members]. NBC’s Molly Hunter reports for Saturday TODAY. #PopeBenedict #Pope #BenedictXVI
Slayer: "Seasons in the Abyss"
(UnderstandingRock with Subtitles, May 28, 2021) The Big 4 rock concert live from Sofia, Bulgária  at the Sonisphere Festival. Band: Slayer, line-up: vocals and bass Tom Araya, lead guitar Jeff Hanneman, lead guitar Kerry King, drums Dave Lombardo.

I don't worship the Devil...that much. Who says?
Will Pope Benedict spend seasons in the abyss for his crimes, sins, and peccadillos? Do Catholic insiders even believe in a literal hell apart from separation from the God they worship? Outsiders like us, yeah, we're forced to believe in hellfire and brimstone, but the insiders, the scholars like Benedict, they almost certainly laugh at the idea that there's a real hell. There certainly must be some forms of it -- subterranean chambers where ogres and "demons" dwell torturing humans in experiments. It's not so much punishment as a result of bad karma making one susceptible to torture and experimentation by wardens down there that have their own agendas. Sure there are "spiritual hells," black dimensions, but are there not worlds of horror, like battlefields and ruined cities the US military-industrial complex traffics in around the world?

The world is fed up with Catholic hypocrisy, financial crimes, and rampant homosexual child molestation by trusted members of the clergy. But what power do the people have in a patriarchy?

Betrayal: Catholic Chuch sex abuse (video)

The Fifth Estate, Oct. 3, 2016; Seth Auberon, Crystal Q. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Betrayal: Abuse in the Catholic Church in Nova Scotia
Betrayal tells the story of childhood sexual abuse [including rape] victims in Nova Scotia, who continued to feel profound hurt and damage as adults. Searching for restitution for their suffering, some launched or joined in lawsuits against the Catholic Church. Their partial victory has had an unexpected outcome: In order to settle those lawsuits, the Church has begun selling of some Church property in Nova Scotia -- property that local Catholic people helped build and pay for over many generations. Betrayal highlights the consequences of abuse that continue to echo throughout the Catholic Church and in communities across Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

Pope defends gay rapist priests in S. America

BBC.com, 5/18/18; Crystal Quintero, Pfc. Sandoval, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Bishops Ramos Pérez (L) and González Errázuriz have held three days of crisis talks.

All Chile's 34 bishops offer resignation to Pope over child sex abuse scandals
I love children and this Holy Roman Church!
All of Chile's 34 Roman Catholic bishops have offered Pope Francis their resignations in the wake of a child [rape] scandal and cover-up.

They asked forgiveness [for their "sins"] from victims and the Church for their "grave errors and omissions."

I thought we had a deal? - We do!
It was not immediately clear whether the Pope had accepted the resignations.

Francis had been criticized in Chile for his decision to ordain a bishop who is accused of covering up [homo]sexual [child] abuse committed by a priest.

He said in January that he felt "pain and shame" over the scandal, which has rocked the Catholic Church in Chile.
It is the first time that all the top churchmen in a country have offered to leave their posts like this.

What's this sex scandal about?
I cover up child rape not enjoy do it myself.
The upset centers on Bishop Juan Barros [pictured at left], who is accused of using his position in the Catholic Church to try to block an investigation into his mentor, Catholic Priest Fernando Karadima.

[Gay hypocrite] Fr. Karadima was an influential priest who was found guilty by the Vatican of sexually abusing young boys in the 1970s and 80s.

Guilty? - "Who am I to judge," Don?
He was "sentenced" to a [comfortable life in a Catholic villa, spa, retreat center for a] lifetime of "penance and prayer" [and rest, relaxation, masturbation, and some more boys if he could sneak them in].

He never faced criminal prosecution in Chile as too much time had passed, but the judge who heard victims' testimony in a year-long investigation described them as "truthful and reliable."

Pope Francis appointed Bishop Barros three years ago despite the [criminal] cover-up allegations. He is not accused of carrying out abuse himself. More

A Brief History of Saint Patrick (video)

TheWeekinDoubt; Merriam-Webster; Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Can "St. Patty's Day" refer to St. Patrick?

The Week in Doubt
March 17th is St. Patrick's Day -- the feast day of the [Roman-British] patron saint of Ireland.

He is [blamed for] bringing Christianity to the island (and is the legendary figure said to have driven the "snakes" of Ireland into the sea).

Typically, a feast day of a canonized saint is only referred to by the saint's given name, in this case Patrick.

Nature-based wise ones killed
However, St. Patrick's Day has evolved to become more than a religious observance.

It is a secular celebration of Irish heritage and pride in the form of festivals and parades, as well as more than a few pub crawls.

Many people (not just the Irish) get into the spirit of the day by dressing in green, eating smelly corned flesh and cabbage (a tradition from Irish immigrants in America), and drinking Irish intoxicants.

The festive atmosphere has influenced partygoers to refer to the day informally by nicknames of Patrick, but one name tends to raise the hackles of many celebrants, be they Irish by heritage or just for the day. More

UN: Vatican tortures, rapes children (NPR)

Ashley Wells, Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, Wisdom Quarterly; Sylvia Poggioli (NPR, 5-6-14)
Yeah, we molest kids, of course. We even make "sacred" art about it for our churches.

UN grills Vatican officials on sex abuse
Maybe I still run things in secret. *Giggle*
A U.N. committee has found that the systematic sex abuse [of children] by Catholic priests in the Vatican's corporate body (the Roman Catholic Church) amounts to torture.

["Torture" is defined by international treaties to which the Holy See is apparently a signatory, or the court might not have any say over their crimes against humanity.

Small "country" but very, very rich
The Vatican is not only Roman Catholic HQ. It is also a tiny city-state independent of Italy and Rome. Vatican City is its capital. It has massive cash, art, and gold reserves in its own corrupt banking system and private financial institutions. It has a tiny population of roughly 1,000 elite clerics and Swiss guards, and a CEO whose rotating position is popularly called "the papacy," which Pope Francis currently fronts, and which Benedict may still run the way Dick Cheney ran the U.S. while G.W. Bush shook hands and acted a bumbling fool too simple to be much of a threat.]

At the Holy See's first appearance before the committee, experts on the panel peppered the representative with questions. On Tuesday, the Vatican has a chance to respond. LISTEN

Norway bishop resigned after molesting boy

Church: Norway bishop resigned in '09 over abuse
OSLO – A Catholic bishop in Norway who resigned last year did so after admitting he had molested a child about 20 years earlier, when he was a priest, church officials said yesterday. The announcement came after a Norwegian newspaper pressed for an explanation for why Georg Mueller, a 58-year-old German, had stepped down unexpectedly as bishop in the western city of Trondheim in June 2009. At the time, Vatican and Norwegian church officials gave only vague reasons for Mueller's departure. It was the first case in the current wave of sexual abuse allegations — and accusations of cover-ups — against Catholic clergy in which a bishop stepped down after admitting to having molested children.

Lutheran Church elects 1st female leader

Protestantism moves forward, at least in Germany, while Buddhism and other traditions continue to be sexist to their own detriment. And it wasn't always this way. In fact, the Buddha did not consider his dispensation complete until he had ordained female disciples. Talk of his hesitation is misconstrued to this day. Yet, although there are again nuns in every Buddhist tradition, they are not treated as equals. The lesson to be learned? Elevating women elevates everyone.

BERLIN (Oct. 28, 2009) – Germany's Lutheran Church has elected a woman to lead the nation's Protestants for the first time in its history. Margot Kaessmann (once described as "a cross between Mother Teresa and Demi Moore" as seen in this AFP/DDP/file photo) was overwhelmingly voted into the church's top position on Wednesday. The 51-year-old bishop holds a doctorate in theology and has four grown children. She is one of only two women to serve as bishop in Germany's Protestant church. She was ordained in 1985 and has held many offices within the church. Kaessmann is viewed as being politically active and media savvy. Source

Christians reject their new Buddhist Bishop

Episcopalians reject Buddhist Bishop

Leaders of the Episcopal Church (in the Anglican communion) have rejected the appointment of bishop-elect Rev. Kevin Thew Forrester (pictured in white). Forrester holds views that are apparently too progressive. Among them, Rev. Forrester:
  • Denies that Satan [a Christian version of Mara] exists
  • Doesn't believe God sent Christ to die for the world's sins
  • Teaches that many paths lead to salvation

The Diocese of Northern Michigan's election of the Rev. Thew Forrester was declared "null and void" on 7/26/09. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori says Forrester failed to receive the necessary consent from a majority of Episcopal bishops and diocesan committees.

Rev. Forrester has also been criticized for blending elements of Christianity and Buddhism. In an old diocesan newsletter from 2004, Rev. Forrester said he had "received Buddhist 'lay ordination.'" Some bloggers have also criticized him for calling a reading from the Quran [Islam's bible] "the word of God." This begs the age-old question:

Can you be Christian and Buddhist?
(Dharma Folk, 3/12/09)

The...other day I ran across The God Blog over on the Jewish Journal, which asks Can you be Christian and Buddhist? with respect to Rev. Kevin Thew Forrester. He’s in the news due to irate Episcopalians who will not tolerate him as both a bishop in the Anglican communion and an ordained Zen teacher. More>>
