The Buddhist way to give for Christmas

The Buddhist Way to Give at Christmas | No stress, just pure joy
(Buddha's Wisdom) Dec. 23, 2025: What if we could give at Christmas without stress, guilt, or keeping score?
  • 🎁 CHRISTMAS DOESN'T HAVE TO FEEL HEAVY.
  • DISCOVER HOW BUDDHIST WISDOM CAN TRANSFORM GIVING.
For 2,600+ years, Buddhists have practiced dāna (letting go, giving, sharing, generosity, charity), the art of generous giving that liberates both giver and receiver.

This ancient wisdom offers a profound alternative to the anxiety, obligation, and reciprocity calculations that often shadow modern Christmas giving.

Through Buddhist teachings, human psychology, and everyday Christmas moments, this video shows how giving without attachment changes not only the holiday season…but the mind/heart behind it.

📿 DISCOVER:
  • The ancient practice of dāna and its three stages of joy (before, during, and after giving)
  • Why expecting gratitude turns giving into stress
  • Why the Buddha said the "gift of Dhamma [the Teaching, Doctrine, Dharma] surpasses all other gifts" and what this means for our Western pagan holiday we call Christmas (Christ's mass)
  • The three moods of giving: reluctant, calculated, and free (and which one we're actually practicing)
  • The hidden emotional contracts behind Christmas gifts
  • How to give, and receive, without pressure, debt, or obligation
🙏 If this changes how you experience Christmas this year, subscribe to Buddha's Wisdom for weekly explorations of ancient practices that address modern life. The next video might be exactly what someone needs

Money, beauty! How can I love debt?

CEO Kiana Danial wants to get rich by offering to make you rich on linkedin.com
.
Kiana Dufour signed. Wants rich spouse?
Do our names have anything to do with our life paths?

If one names a daughter "Kiana," will that benefit her more in terms of money or beauty, the main driving forces of a worldly life?

It would be best if she were virtuous, accruing profitable (kusala, wholesome) karma the Buddha called merit to gain the five most desirable things in this world, at least when looked at in the long term.

.
SUTRA: Five things everyone wants
What you want, get it by karma.
The Buddha: "O [rich householder], there are five wished for, pleasant, and agreeable things that are rare in the world. What are they? They are long life, beauty, happiness, fame, and [rebirth in] a heaven.

"But of these five things, O householder, I do no teach that they are to be obtained by prayer or by vows [making deals with God or the universe, promising to do something in exchange for a boon]. If one could obtain them by prayer or vows, who would not do it?

"For a noble disciple, O householder, who wishes to have long life, it is unbefitting to pray for longevity or to take delight in doing so. Instead, one should follow a path of [practice in] life that is conducive to longevity. By following such a path, one will obtain long life, be it human or divine.

"For a noble disciple, O householder, who wishes for beauty... happiness... fame... [rebirth in] a heaven, it is unbefitting to pray for them or to take delight in doing so. Instead, one should follow a path of life that is conducive to beauty... happiness... fame... [rebirth in] a heaven.

"By following such a path, one will obtain beauty, happiness, fame, and [rebirth in] a heaven." (AN 5.43)

There’s a huge misconception between good debt and bad debt. 💸 Both sit in the "liability" column on a balance sheet, but there’s a huge difference between the two, which is the critical differentiator between poor people and rich people:

Poor people have bad debt. 😖 Wealthy people take advantage of good debt. 🤑 In fact, right now, debt is my favorite type of income!

Our Million Dollar Family Accelerators have accomplished so much using leverage.💰 But be very careful not to confuse the two types of debt in day-to-day life. 🚨

OD Martinique: Kiana (Quebec MOI)
📉 Bad debt is a liability on something that doesn’t make money — like luxury bags, cars that depreciate in value, cable TV, and all the other things poor people go into debt for to look like what they think a rich people look like.

📈 In contrast, good debt, also known as funding or leverage (gearing), is defined by the money one may owe to acquire an asset, an investment. It’s something that reproduces after itself to make more wealth — like a skillset gained that will keep on giving for years to come.

Here are some debt strategies wealthy people use to generate wealth:
  • 🏠 Leverage in Real Estate: Taking out a mortgage to invest in property can amplify returns.
  • 💼 Investment Loans: Borrowing to invest in appreciating assets like stocks or funds.
  • 📈 Business Expansion: Securing loans to expand or start a business.
  • 💰 Tax Advantages: Borrowing against investments to fund purchases without triggering capital gains taxes can optimize wealth growth.
  • 🎓 Education and Skill Development: Loans for education or skill enhancement that leads to higher income potential.
Remember, leveraging debt for wealth requires caution and an understanding of the risks involved.

SUTRA: Reasons for getting rich
Are we all agreed that these five are good?
The Buddha: "Householder, there are five reasons for getting rich. What are they?

"... A noble disciple with riches through work and zeal, gathered by strength of arm, earned by sweat of brow, justly obtained in a lawful way, makes oneself happy, glad, and keeps that happiness; one makes one's parents happy, glad, and keeps them so -- likewise wife and children and assistants.

"...When riches are gotten in this way, one makes friends and companions happy, glad, and keeps them so.

"...When riches are gotten in this way, bad luck... is warded off, and one keeps one's goods in safety.

"...When riches are gotten in this way, one makes the five oblations [pūjā] to one's kin, guests, spirits, kings, and deities.

"...When riches are gotten this way, the noble disciple institutes offerings of lofty aim, celestial, ripening in happiness, leading heavenward [to the deva planes, akasha loka, sagga], for all those recluses and good people who abstain from pride and indolence, who bear all things in patience and humility, each mastering self, each calming self, each perfecting self.

"Now if the wealth of that noble disciple, heeding these five reasons, comes to destruction, let that disciple consider: 'At least I have heeded those reasons for getting rich, but my wealth has gone!' Therefore, one is not upset.

"And if one's wealth increases, let one think: 'Truly, I have heeded those reasons and my wealth has grown!' Therefore, one will not be upset in either case." (AN 5.41)

The Mob financed CIA's secret army

Operation Gladio | How the Mobe financed the CIA's secret army
(The Why Files) July 6, 2024: After World War II, the CIA hatched a covert plan to stop Soviet expansion in Europe. It created a secret army, recruiting an unexpected mix of allies. This clandestine operation, known as Operation Gladio, spanned across all NATO countries. What began as a defensive strategy quickly morphed into something far more sinister. Innocent civilians became casualties in a shadow war fought on European streets.

Scam: Trouble at Powerball lottery: delay

UPDATE: $2 billion Powerball lottery fraud: SCAM!
.
The eighth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history — $1.3 billion — is at stake in Saturday evening’s multi-state Powerball drawing.
However, the drawing has been delayed. [Hmm, just like the time the lotto scammed us in Altadena, California, where one many bought a ticket and another man became a billionaire being sued by the first man and there was a very mysterious delay lied about by officials.]

The Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, issued the following statement:

“The Powerball drawing scheduled for 10:59 pm ET on Saturday, April 6 has been delayed.

“Tonight, we have one participating lottery [Is it California, home of the most winners, by any chance?] that needs additional time to complete required pre-draw procedures, which have been enacted to protect the security and integrity of the Powerball game.
Gambling? The fix is in.
“Powerball game rules require that every single ticket sold nationwide be checked and verified against two different computer systems before the winning numbers are drawn. This is done to ensure that every ticket sold for the Powerball drawing has been accounted for and has an equal chance to win. Tonight, we have one jurisdiction that needs extra time to complete that pre-draw process.

“Please hold on to your tickets for Saturday’s Powerball drawing. When the required pre-draw procedures are complete, the Powerball drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors.

“The drawing will be live streamed on Powerball.com, and the winning numbers and recorded video of the drawing will be posted to the Powerball website and YouTube channel.”
  • Related video: Powerball draw for $1.3 billion jackpot delayed (KTLA-TV Los Angeles)
  • Also tonight you want to hold on to those tickets
Powerball draw for $1.3 billion jackpot delayed
There have been 40 drawings since January 1, 2024, the last time a ticket with all six numbers was [chosen by someone and] sold, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.

Saturday’s drawing was initially scheduled to take place at 7:59 pm. Tickets sold after 7:05 pm were ineligible for the night’s draw, but are eligible for the following drawing.

In its announcement Friday that the estimated jackpot had grown to $1.3 billion from the previous estimate of $1.23 billion because of strong ticket sales across the nation coupled with a boost in interest rates used to fund the annuitized prize, the Multi-State Lottery Association also sought to debunk what it called top misconceptions about whether players can gain an edge to winning the Powerball jackpot.

One misconception is that Powerball jackpot-winning tickets are only sold in big cities and states. Powerball was designed to be a random game with every ticket having the same possibility of matching the winning numbers drawn, the association said.

The number of winning tickets in a location directly correlates to the volume of ticket sales. Typically, there are more winning tickets in cities because they have higher ticket sales compared to rural areas, and therefore, more winners based upon sales volume.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number are 1 in 292.2 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.9.

The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is the fourth largest in the history of the Powerball game, which began in 1992. There have been four larger jackpots for the Mega Millions game, which began in 1996 as The Big Game and was given the new name Mega Millions in 2002.

The Powerball game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More + VIDEO

Survival mode to thriving: nervous system

MSN.com ; CC Liu, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

It can seriously feel like we are constantly under siege. The barrage of news is relentless, politics are dismal, Israel won't let up, the economy is uncertain, coffee/stimulants to counter exhaustion, and our family responsibilities can be overwhelming.

Burnout is a very real danger and can affect anyone — even those who seem to have it all together. But the warning signs of burnout are easy to miss.

If we know what to look for, we can take steps to manage stressors effectively and prevent burnout from taking over our life.

Let's discuss the causes of burnout and suggest solutions that will help calm the nervous system so we can thrive during difficult times.

How does prolonged stress impact the nervous system? The economy (and our personal finances), family responsibilities, and fast breaking news all cause fatigue and contribute to the current stressors impacting our nervous system.
  • Elon Musk wants Neuralink in your brain. You'll feel better?

Other things (financial, job instability, long-term financial planning) all add to the weight of daily life. At the same time, caring for children and elderly family members, balancing work and home life, and maintaining relationships under stress can be emotionally draining.

To top it all off, the constant stream of negative news and the emotional toll of global events can lead to information overload.

When these stressors become too much, our nervous system struggles. This can manifest in physical symptoms like
  • headaches,
  • fatigue,
  • digestion problems,
  • muscle tension,
  • mood swings.
It can also lead to mental-emotional issues like anxiety and depression. If left unchecked, burnout can take hold and have a devastating impact on our overall wellbeing. More: From survival mode to thriving, regulating our nervous system in challenging times

Trump must now pay $400 mil to appeal loss

Pfc. Sandoval, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly COMMENTARY
But I'm supposed to win and win again until I'm sick of winning!!! I'm not LOSER! No!.

Who would choose you over ME, Joe? - TPTB
Poor Trump, corporate loser-in-chief but no longer CEO of any business in New York,
  • Americans are mocking him in front of Trump Towers,
  • questioning his cognitive viability (saying it may be worse than senile Genocide Joe Biden),
  • questioning his ability to pay a fine imposed on him by a judge he held in contempt and was erratic and unpredictable with,
  • and he lost a popularity contest with the most popular pop star since Elvis, one Taylor "Nazi Barbie" Swift, the people's choice,
  • Pretend to elect Joe. He's going to win anyway.
and Trump's ranking among American presidents has landed him dead last, which some might call the "worst" president so far -- which is not easy to do on a list that includes two Bushs and a Black hypocrite (who promised change and gave us more war, more government reach, and all around more of the same-same).
It's a popularity contest. I did what I had to.
Many notable conservatives, no fans of Warlord Biden, are against him, like Ann Coulter, Alex Jones, former candidates, and some silent type backbenchers in the GOP. How is he going to pull the next election out of his ASAP hat without their help?

Judge bankrupts Trump: $454.5 million fine

Ashley Wells, Sheldon S., Seth Auberon, Pfc. Sandoval (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

The judge can't fine me that much, can he?
Trump has been handed an eviction of sorts: He's out of the BBC, the Billionaire Boys' Club, because he can no longer afford the steep membership fees.
Don't compare me to my dumb nepotistic sons!!
He may have to open up Mar a Lago to Airbnb rentals to cover his expenses.

He has allegedly run up a bill from defense attorneys of $500 million, or half a billion. He was fined $5 million for the rape of a woman he repeatedly defamed and was recently fined an additional $83 million for defaming her (and she has enough evidence to sue him again for doing it again after the trial).

Today's fine is $354 million. And he still faces about 90 criminal cases that may land him in federal prison unless he pays all the rest of his money on better defense attorneys or MAGAots rise up again and break him out of jail through another attempted insurrection that results in a second U.S. Civil War. Let's add it up:
  • 354,000,000.00 (today's fine for fraud)
  • 500,000,000.00 (defense attorneys' bill)
  • 083,000,000.00 (fine for defamation)
  • 005,000,000.00 (fine for rape/sexual assault)
  • 500,000,000.00 (future legal fees)
  • = more than the billion he started with
Will this cost Trump a young trophy wife?

Melania: I'll be taking my half and going now.
If Don John Trump started with a billion (1,000 million), and that's a big if -- given that he was convicted of financial fraud in New York for lying about how much his assets are worth or what he's spending his hush money on, and most of his tax documents do not seem to be examined by the mainstream media that allegedly worked so hard to have access to them -- he is down to almost nothing.
