Israel economy collapsing, exodus of Jews

Israel economy collapsing as people flee Israel's police state
(The Jimmy Dore Show) Oct. 11, 2024: With each passing month, Israel's economy is approaching stagnation, if not recession, as the risks of regional conflagration intensify. Growth fell from 6.5% in 2022 to 2% in 2023 and was expected to fall to 1.1% over 2024 as a whole, according to the government's latest forecasts, released in early September. This figure is likely to be revised downward again, depending on the duration of its conflict with Lebanon and its future attack on Iran, after bombing Syria and threatening Egypt, the scale of destruction and the number of Jewish reservists (other than the draft dodgers) recalled to the armed forces. Jimmy Dore and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the dire domestic economic consequences of Israel’s wars on nearly all its neighbors is having. #TheJimmyDoreShow

Mass exodus? Israel's economy self-destructs
(Breaking Points) Aug. 13, 2024: Krystal Ball and Emily discuss Israel self-destructing their economy amid the escalating tensions provoking Iran, turning into a police state, state sponsors of terror, and war criminals.

Survival mode to thriving: nervous system

MSN.com ; CC Liu, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

It can seriously feel like we are constantly under siege. The barrage of news is relentless, politics are dismal, Israel won't let up, the economy is uncertain, coffee/stimulants to counter exhaustion, and our family responsibilities can be overwhelming.

Burnout is a very real danger and can affect anyone — even those who seem to have it all together. But the warning signs of burnout are easy to miss.

If we know what to look for, we can take steps to manage stressors effectively and prevent burnout from taking over our life.

Let's discuss the causes of burnout and suggest solutions that will help calm the nervous system so we can thrive during difficult times.

How does prolonged stress impact the nervous system? The economy (and our personal finances), family responsibilities, and fast breaking news all cause fatigue and contribute to the current stressors impacting our nervous system.
  • Elon Musk wants Neuralink in your brain. You'll feel better?

Other things (financial, job instability, long-term financial planning) all add to the weight of daily life. At the same time, caring for children and elderly family members, balancing work and home life, and maintaining relationships under stress can be emotionally draining.

To top it all off, the constant stream of negative news and the emotional toll of global events can lead to information overload.

When these stressors become too much, our nervous system struggles. This can manifest in physical symptoms like
  • headaches,
  • fatigue,
  • digestion problems,
  • muscle tension,
  • mood swings.
It can also lead to mental-emotional issues like anxiety and depression. If left unchecked, burnout can take hold and have a devastating impact on our overall wellbeing. More: From survival mode to thriving, regulating our nervous system in challenging times

US Jews realize we were LIED to by Jews

Racheal152 (Star Trends), 11/12/23; Sheldon S., Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Jewish diaspora realizing that we've been L!£D to the whole time
American JewBu (Buddhist)
(Star Trends) Premiered Nov. 12, 2023: There are good people, some born Jewish, and they speak up when they realized they have been lied to for so long. The world was deceived, but no one more so than Zionist Jews themselves. (Somehow the Ultra-Orthodox kept their heads while suffering the most anti-Jewish discrimination, as the other blended in and "passed" for white since this is really about the European/Ashkenazi experience, joining the IDF to go kill for a homeland and ethno-state, an occupation and apartheid).

Never again! At least not to us. I mean, next time we'll do unto others before they do us...again.
There's a Jewish Voice for Peace and other groups that say no to Zionist Israel (jvp.org).

Has comedian gone too far? (video)

Dave Chappelle, Trevor Noah, Jon Stewart; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly

Who in the hades does Dave Chappelle think he is not jumping on the Anti-Trump bandwagon? There are reasons why Blacks and other non-whites might vote against their own apparent interests? The Democrats are bunch of backstabbers, so it's no crime to dump the largest political party in the country. But going for the explicitly racist and implicitly biased Grand Old Party (GOP)? No way. Still, backing a Honest Liar like Trump is not the worst thing, given how much Barry and Hillary lied, lied, lied about so many things. Trump lies more but is capable of telling the naked truth, too, unlike those two establishment candidates. Enough with our single party system (the Money Party, with its two wings, right and left). We need a SECOND party, and a Third Party wouldn't hurt either.

Daily Show's Jon Stewart finally gets it decades later

Thai High: Legal weed in Thailand (video)

NYT; ABC News In-depth, Australia, 10/6/22; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Morphing Monasteries: Buddhism in today's Thailand (The New York Times, 12/23/12) Buddhism has been a way of life in Thailand for centuries, but inside the most popular temples is a trend that critics call "fast-food Buddhism." Article: nyti.ms/XGYUFp

Is Thailand the new weed capital of the world?
(ABC News In-depth) From zero tolerance to decriminalization, Theravada Buddhist Thailand’s recent U-turn on its cannabis laws is lighting up a billion-dollar industry.

Bhante, do you guys accept bud for dana?
Officially weed is for medicinal use only, but the legal grey area means ganja lovers are celebrating. It’s the country that gave us the words "bong" and "ganja."  In Thailand, cannabis has been used for centuries in traditional medicine.

But when the US launched its "war on drugs" in the 1970s, Thailand became a key partner, placing cannabis on its own narcotics list and toughening penalties against it. This June (summer 2022), the country took it off that list, meaning cannabis sellers and recreational users no longer risked jail for selling or possessing cannabis.

Many Westerners took up Thai Forest Tradition
In tourist hotspots, a ganja-culture is fast taking hold. In Bangkok’s Khao San Road [the backpackers' and shoestring travelers' haven] and nightspot, it seems easier to buy a joint than a Pad Thai (which cost about 10 cents for the street version of the dish).

"Now it’s legal. God gave a gift for us," says Choco Gonzales, a cannabis seller in Bangkok. And it’s party time for tourists at the famous full moon party at Koh Phangan in the country’s southeast.

What will Dhammakaya do to save Thailand?
"Wherever you go now, it’s Amsterdam again in Asia," says an Italian tourist at the party. As Australia reignites on its own debate about legalizing cannabis, Southeast Asia correspondent Mazoe Ford travels around Thailand to meet the new crop of "ganja-preneurs" cashing in on the green rush.

In Bangkok, Kitty Chopaka, a shop owner selling cannabis products and a leading advocate of decriminalization, is still pinching herself. "I never thought in my lifetime that this would actually happen…But at the same time I knew it has to be done."

On the southern island of Ko Samui, resort owner Carl Lamb reckons the liberalization of the laws is attracting overseas tourists. "You can really feel it's reinvigorated the market. There's a new energy here."

Ford also hitches a ride on the private jet of the politician behind the policy – Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. He takes us to Thailand’s east to spruik, the medicinal cannabis industry, which the government hopes will become a billion-dollar industry.

“It turned out that majority of my voters chose to vote for my party…some people even called my party [the] ‘Cannabis Party,’” he tells Ford. But not everyone welcomes the change. More than a thousand doctors have warned that the drug was delisted before proper safeguards and regulations were in place.

“We don't want to be the cannabis haven of the world,” say Doctor Chanchai Sittipunt from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Medicine. But Kitty Chopaka says going back isn’t possible; the genie is out of the bottle.

“That bottle is broken. It’s gone!” More: ab.co/3ebD2pG
