Trump betrays MAGA, sides w/ Elon Musk

DJ Trump and Elon Musk duo emerging as leaders of global far right in 2025 (IPA Newspack)

Vlad, should we fake another Cold War?
We all know, right? We've always known, right? Trump is a lying liar who lies. Hillary was worse. Sweet, innocent-looking Obama, a man of the people, a valiant "community organizer," arguably did more harm than Dick Cheney could have done had he been selected to serve the military-industrial complex, aka the American War Machine.

Obama was just a nicer face fronting for the powers that be, powers that like corrupt sellouts, who can be bribed and have their egos massaged. "Oh, Obie, want a Nobel Peace Prize before doing anything? Sure, it can be arranged. How about signing off on these seven wars, um, kinetic actions around the world, all part of the Master Plan?"

Vivek Ramaswamy is ready to serve up India to the US on a platter

"Oh, boy, would I! My CIA groomers weren't lying. I should've believed attorney Andrew D. Basiago. Now I'm on the gravy train with a house in the exclusive country of District of Columbia, with all the hard drugs, gay loves, "pizzas" ;), book deals, and power-brokering I can handle. This is what being part of the Power Elite is really about, even if my son Trayvon did get shot that one time by that lighter-skinned Zimmerman gentleman."

(Msc Blumental) Tulsi used to be something, honest about Syria

Late onset dementia patient Trump was nevertheless a better option than fresh sellout Harris, so much so that rather than pulling the strings like the usual goings-on (business as usual in DC) around elections, just ask investigative journalist Greg Palast (The Best Democracy Money Can Buy), will allow the will of the people AND we'll grab Trump by the short and curlies so hard this time that he does what he's told without giving us so much lip or we dispose of his candidacy, terminate his freedom, and stifle his expression, and hide him a federal country club where we hold troublemakers and see what the MAGAots try to do about it.

"Cuckoo" Steve Bannon takes off the gloves to fight Elon and Vivek

Put your trust in a politician, and you're asking for it. The one-party system, which is called the duopoly, puts up very unattractive options then is surprised that people in desperation will overlook a lot, a lot. If the government had been telling the truth, Trump would be imprisoned. But if he plays along to get along, like he did with the plandemic and preplanned and pre-patented "vaccine" for it, even if we had to change the definition of "vaccine" to get everyone onboard (never mind its meaning once being snake venom), We'll get that krait venom and hila monster venom in every body one way or another. So do people mean Project 2025 is real? Oh, you betcha, Hoozier.

Climate chaos hypocrisy w/ Czar Kerry

Russell Brand, July 27, 2023; Seth Auberon, Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

NEED ANYMORE PROOF?!
(Russell Brand) July 27, 2023. As enfeebled Joey Biden’s Climate Czar John Kerry is caught lying about owning and using a private jet, does this show everything we already thought about the Establishment’s standard of hypocrisy when it comes to the climate? It’s OK when they do it. And what about sweet but phony Greta Thunberg? What will this mean about her likely ghostwritten climate book? #climatechange #climate #global

Dems little better than Republicans (TJDS)

Jim Dore, Kshama Sawant (TJDS); Pfc. Sandoval, Ashley Wells, Sheldon S., Wisdom Quarterly

Just do what They tell you, JoJo.
Pres. B.S. Obama-Biden was in some ways worse than Bush-Cheney and perhaps even worse than the second worst president in history, Trump. G.W. Bush still seems like the worst, right behind his murderous former CIA Chief G.H. Bush, a horrific unindicted war criminal. Why? We expect certain bad things from Republicans or conservatives but not from Democrats or progressives. Obama was groomed by the CIA, and he duped us and kept everyone asleep, thinking we had finally put someone good in the White House. Trump to his credit at least got people to sit up and notice, pay attention to politics and their duties as members of a democracy. Hillary would have put everyone to sleep, much as most Americans are doing under career politician Biden. Admittedly, Trump is gross, vulgar, and idiotic, but he didn't make wars or keep secrets very well. He's hated for that because the media will not tolerate that the status quo be upset in a capitalist system. Business must keep humming along no matter how many citizens are suffering under it. At least the big donors are happy.

"SNOWDEN" (LIVE and in theaters tonight)

Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, Seth Auberon, CC Liu, Wisdom Quarterly; Amy Goodman, Juan Gonzalez with Oliver Stone, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Democracy Now!); HBO; FOS&E; Movieclips
"Insurgent" actress Shailene Woodley as Ed Snowden's girlfriend Lindsay Mills.
(MC) Featuring Shailene Woodley of "Insurgent" fame and "Third Rock from the Sun/"Looper" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, directed by Oliver Stone ("JFK," "The Untold History of the U.S.").

I play g/f Lindsay Mills! (SW)
The new Oliver Stone movie is based on the real-life of world-famous whistleblower Edward Snowden, American hero living in exile in Russia because the Bush and Obama administrations love nothing more than killing the messenger when the messenger is blowing the whistle on them.

In a world where nothing on the computer is private, where every post (whether marked "private" or not) is being searched and viewed by the NSA (that filters the Internet and smartphones across the world) and the FBI through their Facebook and the CIA and its Google, only one man can tell the world before it's too late.

We're serious actors but we like to goof around in front of the White House (The Wrap)

We're the all-American couple living in Russia because our own government hates us.

.
Edward Snowden is that man. And civil liberties and personal privacy still mean something to someone. Come to the Arclight Hollywood tonight to ask him about it, as "Snowden" goes live from a secret location in Dictator Vladimir Putin's Russia.

Ironically, it's the last bastion of freedom left for our hypocritical and hijacked United States. Snowden -- like Chelsea Bradley Manning -- is a hero of the highest order, and their country hates them for it.

Who's side are you on, Freedom or Security, Liberty or Conformity? Anyone who sells liberty for security ends up with neither, as one of the country's founder warned us.

The Academy Award winning "CitizenFour" was neither about Snowden the man or what he did, only how he pulled it off. Oliver Stone dramatically humanizes the figure at the center of the controversy and does much more to expose what Snowden was trying to expose in the first place.

Burma's Aung San Suu Kyi visits U.S.

Aung San Suu Kyi: kill the sanctions (GlobalPost, 9-21-12) "Our people must start taking responsibility for their own destiny."
Obama meets with Burma’s Aung San Suu Kyi, Oval Office, 9-14-16 (Carolyn Kaster/AP).

The Lady Suu Kyi with Clinton in 2012
Aung San Suu Kyi visited the White House on Wednesday as Burma’s de facto leader six years after she was released from house arrest, a triumphant moment for the democracy icon and for the Obama administration’s policy of engagement with antagonistic or hostile regimes.

But unlike in Cuba or Iran, Pres. Obama’s decision to jump-start dormant U.S. relations with the long-isolated Southeast Asian nation [located between India and Thailand] in 2011 received critical support from Republican leaders. And the burgeoning democratic transition in Burma, also known as Myanmar [after the military dictators changed its name], away from a half-century of brutal military rule could represent a rare bipartisan success story.

Washington is rolling out the red carpet for Suu Kyi, who had breakfast with Vice President Biden and congressional leaders before visiting the Oval Office. She will visit Capitol Hill on Thursday.
After her meeting with Obama, the White House announced that the United States would end a long-standing national emergency against Burma and further ease trade sanctions in the latest effort to normalize relations. Administration officials said they hoped the move will spur greater U.S. economic investment in the nation of 53 million people.

“It is the right thing to do to ensure that the people of Burma see rewards for a new way of doing business,” Obama said. He called Burma a “good news story in an era when so often we see countries going the opposite direction.” More + VIDEO

"I refuse to serve as an Empire Chaplain"
Former U.S. Army Reserve Chaplain Captain Chris Antal reads his resignation letter to Pres. Obama. "I resign because I refuse to support U.S. armed drone policy," Antal wrote. I refuse to support this policy of unaccountable killing." More

Police State, Martial Law, Ed Snowden (video)

Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, Wisdom Quarterly; Jason A; AJA; DemocracyNow.org

(Up Front) Exclusive interview from Russia: Edward Snowden discusses "guaranteed" American rights he is deprived of, such as the right to privacy, freedom of speech, and the right to a fair trial. A fair trial? Unlikely, says famous whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, author of The Pentagon Papers.

Trump-victory-indiana3Snowden would not be allowed to confront his accusers or testify in front of a jury. Instead, he would be put through a closed military tribunal, locked up with no detailed press coverage. Snowden also discusses war hawk Hillary Clinton and loose canon Donald Trump.
Torture in US prisons?
Amy Goodman (DemocracyNow.org)
Filmdefriest
Tortured (digitalissstock.deviantart.com)
A shocking new exposé in The New Yorker magazine documents how torture is conducted in the U.S.

Prison guards at the Dade Correctional Institution in Florida subject mentally ill prisoners to vicious beatings, scalding showers, and severe food deprivation.

Journalist Eyal Press notes the guards act with near impunity (facing no consequences) because prison staff, including health workers, often fear reprisals for speaking out against guards.

Restrained, drugged (loonylabs.org)
Press writes that prisons have become America’s dominant mental health institutions.

The situation is particularly extreme in Florida, which spends less money per capita on mental health than any state with the exception of Idaho.

Democracy Now! speaks with Press and one of his sources, George Mallinckrodt, a psychotherapist and whistleblower who lost his job after reporting on abuse of his patients in the Dade Correctional Institution’s Transitional Care Unit. More

What's so special about Afghanistan? (audio)

More amazing than the Buddhas of Bamiyan, Afghanistan is the massive Mes Aynak complex.
American scholars Elizabeth Gould and Paul Fitzgerald reveal the invisible history of Western intervention in Afghanistan, from UK invaders to US imperialists (Wisdom Quarterly).

US War on Afghanistan still on
Bradley Campbell, "The World" (PRI.org, Dec. 22, 2015)
ANA soldier, Helmand (Abdul Malik/Reuters)
Afghanistan can't control the [CIA and ISI's] "Taliban" since the Taliban controls the drug trade.

And yesterday there was a tragic reminder of the troops still there when six Americans were killed in a Taliban suicide attack. No, the war is not over.

it might seem like the U.S. War on Afghanistan is over. Most of our U.S. "troops" are back from Afghanistan. [Plenty more are still there under a different title, say, advisers and monitors, businessmen and spies]. Not all, but most [have finally been renamed to something less ominous than "troop"].

Afghan forces are now taking the lead in the fight against the Taliban. And that fight is not going well, to be honest. Taliban fighters have been gaining ground lately.

This week, we've seen that in Sangin. It's a district of Helmand province, in southern Afghanistan. The Taliban claim they're in control of Sangin. But the fighting continues. They surrounded government troops and buildings. Like I said before, the war in Afghanistan is not over.

Speaking at the Levantine Cultural Center
"The Taliban have been making progress in Helmand province," says Auliya Atrafi with BBC Pashto.

He says Helmand is a key target for the Taliban, because of the opium that's produced in the area. "The opium markets are booming," he says. "The opium market has even caused traffic jams."

The Dark Defile
The Taliban run the show. They oversea the production, including taxing and transport. "It's providing a good opportunity for the locals," he says. "And that might be one of the reasons why the Taliban get support in the countryside. The Taliban are encouraging the production of opium."

The government in Kabul understands the connection between violence and the opium trade. But the people are losing faith the government will be able to do anything about it.

The Battle for Afghanistan (williamdalrymple.co.uk) interview (May 28, 2013 KPFA)
 .
(invisiblehistory.com)
Atrafi recalls a story that succinctly sums up the problems in Afghanistan.

"I remember sitting on the banks of the River Helmand and young people would be talking about their future. But now these guys are talking about how to escape. But they reach the conclusion that they can't really leave the city because they are no longer single men. They have families. They have houses, properties, and businesses."

They stay. That means they have to work within a broken system. "Everything here is working through a chain of taking bribes and giving bribes. More
