(BBC) Hidden mere meters under Mexico's modern capital, a series of temples, royal palaces, and mysterious artifacts from an ancient kingdom are being unearthed.
As we descended 7 meters (21 feet) below Mexico City’s Metropolitan Cathedral, I could feel my heart race. I had heard whisperings about the temples buried under this iconic cathedral – one of the largest and oldest in Latin America – but since their discovery in the 1970s, it had not been possible to see them.
We the Mexica [of Mexico] are not "Aztecs"
Now, I was part of a public tour that lets visitors explore the ancient secrets that lie just below this [Catholic] church’s depths.
Nearly 500 years after Spanish Conquistador Hernรกn Cortรฉs toppled the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlรกn [the "Place of Nopal Cactuses"], the remains of the ancient metropolis continue to lay hidden mere meters under modern-day Mexico City.
The Spanish [invaders from Spain] started building the Metropolitan [Catholic] Cathedral in 1573 above on top of the sacred Aztec (the “Mexica” as they called themselves) temples as a symbol of conquest. More
There are many super-ancient human and alien mysteries throughout the Americas.
250,000-year-old tools in Mexico?! | Hueyatlaco mystery
(Awakened Epochs) What if humans arrived in the Americas not 12,000 years ago but 250,000 years ago? This is the forbidden story of Hueyatlaco, a Mesoamerican archeological site in central Mexico that mainstream history tried to erase.
Discovered in the 1960s and excavated by Smithsonian-backed archeologists, Hueyatlaco revealed stone tools buried beneath volcanic ash dated between 250,000 and 800,000 years old.
When scientists published their results, careers were destroyed, artifacts were confiscated and vanished, and armed men shut down the dig and hounded the participants.
From vanished bones displayed at the Smithsonian, to uranium-series dating, diatom analysis, and eyewitness accounts of suppression, this case challenges everything we think we know about the ancient peopling of the Americas.
Could humans or something like humans, have been in Mexico long before Homo sapiens sapiens supposedly left Africa? Or was this prehistory deliberately buried?
Watch as Awakened Epochs uncovers one of the most controversial and important archeological enigmas of all time.

If one names a daughter "Kiana," will that benefit her more in terms of money or beauty, the main driving forces of a worldly life?
It would be best if she were virtuous, accruing profitable (kusala, wholesome) karma the Buddha called merit to gain the five most desirable things in this world, at least when looked at in the long term.
The Buddha: "O [rich householder], there are five wished for, pleasant, and agreeable things that are rare in the world. What are they? They are long life, beauty, happiness, fame, and [rebirth in] a heaven.
"But of these five things, O householder, I do no teach that they are to be obtained by prayer or by vows [making deals with God or the universe, promising to do something in exchange for a boon]. If one could obtain them by prayer or vows, who would not do it?
"For a noble disciple, O householder, who wishes to have long life, it is unbefitting to pray for longevity or to take delight in doing so. Instead, one should follow a path of [practice in] life that is conducive to longevity. By following such a path, one will obtain long life, be it human or divine.
"For a noble disciple, O householder, who wishes for beauty... happiness... fame... [rebirth in] a heaven, it is unbefitting to pray for them or to take delight in doing so. Instead, one should follow a path of life that is conducive to beauty... happiness... fame... [rebirth in] a heaven.
"By following such a path, one will obtain beauty, happiness, fame, and [rebirth in] a heaven." (AN 5.43)
There’s a huge misconception between good debt and bad debt. ๐ธ Both sit in the "liability" column on a balance sheet, but there’s a huge difference between the two, which is the critical differentiator between poor people and rich people:
Poor people have bad debt. ๐
Wealthy people take advantage of good debt. ๐ค In fact, right now, debt is my favorite type of income!
Our Million Dollar Family Accelerators have accomplished so much using leverage.๐ฐ
But be very careful not to confuse the two types of debt in day-to-day life. ๐จ
๐ Bad debt is a liability on something that doesn’t make money — like luxury bags, cars that depreciate in value, cable TV, and all the other things poor people go into debt for to look like what they think a rich people look like.
๐ In contrast, good debt, also known as funding or leverage (gearing), is defined by the money one may owe to acquire an asset, an investment. It’s something that reproduces after itself to make more wealth — like a skillset gained that will keep on giving for years to come.
Here are some debt strategies wealthy people use to generate wealth:
๐ Leverage in Real Estate: Taking out a mortgage to invest in property can amplify returns.
๐ผ Investment Loans: Borrowing to invest in appreciating assets like stocks or funds.
๐ Business Expansion: Securing loans to expand or start a business.
๐ฐ Tax Advantages: Borrowing against investments to fund purchases without triggering capital gains taxes can optimize wealth growth.
๐ Education and Skill Development: Loans for education or skill enhancement that leads to higher income potential.
Remember, leveraging debt for wealth requires caution and an understanding of the risks involved.

SUTRA: Reasons for getting rich
Are we all agreed that these five are good?
The Buddha: "Householder, there are five reasons for getting rich. What are they?
"... A noble disciple with riches through work and zeal, gathered by strength of arm, earned by sweat of brow, justly obtained in a lawful way, makes oneself happy, glad, and keeps that happiness; one makes one's parents happy, glad, and keeps them so -- likewise wife and children and assistants.
"...When riches are gotten in this way, one makes friends and companions happy, glad, and keeps them so.
"...When riches are gotten in this way, bad luck... is warded off, and one keeps one's goods in safety.
"...When riches are gotten in this way, one makes the five oblations [pลซjฤ] to one's kin, guests, spirits, kings, and deities.
"...When riches are gotten this way, the noble disciple institutes offerings of lofty aim, celestial, ripening in happiness, leading heavenward [to the deva planes, akasha loka, sagga], for all those recluses and good people who abstain from pride and indolence, who bear all things in patience and humility, each mastering self, each calming self, each perfecting self.
"Now if the wealth of that noble disciple, heeding these five reasons, comes to destruction, let that disciple consider: 'At least I have heeded those reasons for getting rich, but my wealth has gone!' Therefore, one is not upset.
"And if one's wealth increases, let one think: 'Truly, I have heeded those reasons and my wealth has grown!' Therefore, one will not be upset in either case." (AN 5.41)

Neighbors laughed at the innovative building of our small house, but then they were amazed
(CREATIVE COUPLE) This is a short version of the complete construction of a simple affordable home.
We built this small house for elderly parents. By design the house is simple and consists of light blocks called autoclaved aerated concrete. The total area of the house is 640 square feet, and the exterior dimensions are 18 by 22 feet.
We built it without loans on a small budget of $17,000. This price included the purchase of the land for $2,000. The total budget did not include the cost of labor because we did all the work ourselves.
ABOUT: We are a happy couple, Hena and Vita. We like to create with our own hands, which is how we find ourselves. We love making videos and try to make them useful. A sutra for householders: "Dangers"
Ven. Sujato (trans.), "Dangers" (AN 10.92) or (Numbered Discourses 10.92) 10. "With Upฤli"), suttacentral.org; edited, expanded, and explained by Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly
.
Then the householder Anฤthapiแนแธika [Sudatta, the generous multimillionaire donor to the needy who was already a stream enterer] went to the Buddha, bowed, and sat respectfully to one side. The Buddha said:
“Householder, when a noble [Arya = enlightened] disciple has quelled five dangers and threats, has the four factors of stream entry, and has clearly seen and comprehended the noble system with wisdom, that person may, if one wishes, declare of oneself: ‘I’ve made an end of rebirth in hells, the animal realm, and the ghost realm.
“‘I’ve made an end of [all rebirth in] places of loss, unfortunate destinations, subhuman worlds. I am a stream-enterer! I’m no longer liable to be reborn in the downfall and am bound for full awakening.’
The dangers
“What are the five dangers and threats such a person has quelled?
One can live at home practicing the Path.
Anyone who kills living creatures creates dangers and threats both in this present life and in lives to come and experiences mental pain and sadness. Anyone who refrains from killing living creatures creates no dangers and threats either in the present life or in lives to come and doesn’t experience mental pain and sadness. So that danger and threat is quelled for anyone who refrains from killing living creatures.
Anyone who steals…
Anyone who engages in sexual misconduct…
Anyone who lies [engages in wrong speech, which is more than lying]…
Anyone who consumes beer, wine, liquor, and intoxicants [that occasion heedlessness] creates dangers and threats both in the present life and in lives to come and experiences mental pain and sadness. Anyone who refrains from consuming beer, wine, liquor, and intoxicants creates no dangers and threats either in the present life or in lives to come and avoids experiencing mental pain and sadness. So that danger and threat is quelled for anyone who refrains from consuming beer, wine, liquor, and intoxicants.
“These are the five dangers and threats one has quelled.
The Four Factors of Stream-Entry.
Why leave household life to practice? No distractions.
“What are the Four Factors of Stream-Entry that one has?
“A noble disciple has experiential confidence [proven conviction, confirmed faith] in the Teacher (the Buddha): ‘This Blessed One is indeed perfected, a supremely enlightened teacher, accomplished in knowledge and conduct, full of integrity, a knower of worlds, a supreme guide for those wishing to train, a teacher of devas and human beings, awakened, blessed.’
“One has experiential confidence in the Teaching (Dharma): ‘The teaching is well explained by the Buddha — apparent here and now in the present life, immediately effective, inviting investigation, relevant, so that sensible people can know it for themselves.’
“One has experiential confidence in the Taught (the Noble Saแน gha, the successfully taught): ‘The Saแน gha of the Buddha’s disciples [the spiritual community of accomplished practitioners, people at the first level of awakening called stream-entry up to full enlightenment or arhatship, which is a category of beings in no way limited to ordained monastics] is practicing the way that is skillful, direct, systematic, and beneficial.
“This community consists of the four pairs, the eight individuals. This is the Saแน gha of the Buddha’s disciples that is worthy of offerings (gifts) dedicated to the devas, worthy of hospitality, worthy of religious donations, worthy of greetings with joined palms (anjali mudra), and serves as the supreme field of merit for the world.’
“And a noble disciple’s virtue and ethical conduct is loved by the noble ones, unbroken, impeccable, spotless, and unmarred, liberating, praised by the wise (sensible people), unmistaken, and leading to absorption (meditative immersion).
“These are the Four Factors of Stream-Entry that one has.
The Enlightening System
"There's a systematic way to let go and be free," asked Imogen. The Buddha is full of surprises.
.
“And what is the noble [enlightening] system that one has clearly seen and comprehended with wisdom? A noble disciple reflects:
“‘When this exists, that is; due to the arising of this, that arises. When this does not exist, that is not; due to the cessation of this, that ceases. [This is called knowledge of how all things arise: they are "dependently originated," and here is an explanation of how suffering (dukkha, disappointment, ill, woe) comes to be and how to end it completely.] That is:
Ignorance is a condition for karmas.
Karmas (actions) are a condition for consciousness.
Consciousness is a condition for name and form.
Name and form are conditions for the six sense fields.
“When ignorance fades away and ceases without remainder, karmas cease.
When karmas cease, [the impersonal process of] consciousness ceases.
When consciousness ceases, name and form cease.
When name and form cease, the six sense fields cease.
When the six sense fields cease, contact ceases.
When contact ceases, feeling ceases.
When feeling ceases, craving ceases.
When craving ceases, grasping ceases.
When grasping ceases, continued rebirth ceases.
When continued becoming ceases, rebirth ceases.
When rebirth ceases, old age and death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, sadness, and distress cease.
That is how this entire mass of suffering ceases.’
I can go home and know-and-see this DIY? - Not DIY
“This is the noble system that one has clearly seen and comprehended with wisdom.
“When a noble disciple has quelled five dangers and threats, has the Four Factors of Stream-Entry, and has clearly seen and comprehended the noble cycle with wisdom [Dependent Origination], one may, if one wishes, declare of oneself:
“‘I’ve made an end of [any possibility of] rebirth in hells, the animal realm, and the ghost realm. I’ve made an end of rebirth in all places of loss, unfortunate destinations, subhuman worlds. I am a stream-enterer. I’m no longer liable to be reborn in the downfall and am bound for full awakening.’” Source: suttacentral.net

Don't say you can't meditate. Everyone can meditate and be mindful. It's as simple as this...
.
I wandered a long time before I understood.
In his approach to teaching meditation, Tibetan Buddhist teacher Mingyur Rinpoche integrates traditional Buddhist practice and philosophy with the current scientific understanding of the mind and mental health, making the practices of meditation relevant and accessible to students around the world.
Compassionate Maitreya Buddha
“Compassion is the spontaneous wisdom of the heart. It’s always with us. It always has been and always will be. When it arises in us, we’ve simply learned to see how strong and safe we really are.”

You will be able to meditate.
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a Buddhist teacher, best-selling author, and the spiritual leader of the Tergar Sangha worldwide. He possesses a rare ability to present the ancient wisdom of Buddhist Tibet in a fresh, engaging manner. Rinpoche’s teachings weave together his own personal experiences (as a very anxious and inept meditator) with modern scientific research, relating both to the practice of meditation.
Archeologists have uncovered evidence of a cave dwelling that was constructed around 16,800 years ago by prehistoric humans.
The dwelling was found in the La Garma cave complex in the autonomous community of Cantabria, northern Spain, the local government announced in a statement.
The new discovery is "one of the best preserved Paleolithic dwellings" in the world, according to the Government of Cantabria. The Paleolithic, also referred to as the Old Stone Age, is a period in human prehistory that extends from the earliest use of stone tools more than 3 million years ago to around 12,000 years ago.
Beth Upton (bethupton.com) is an accomplished former British Buddhist nun now in Spain
La Garma is a "unique" archeological site that boasts an impressive collection of rock art and Paleolithic remains, including thousands of fossils, according to the World Monuments Fund.
The complex forms part of a world-renowned network of caves in northern Spain that are listed together as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Inside a Spanish cave along the coast
This listing includes the famous Cave of Altamira in Cantabria that features striking prehistoric cave art dating as far back as around 35,000 years ago.
To date, five levels of caves have been discovered at La Garma, which preserves evidence of human activity spanning over 300,000 years, right up until the Middle Ages.
The original entrance to the cave's Lower Gallery was blocked by a landslide around 16,000 years ago, preserving the ancient remains inside intact, turning it into a kind of prehistoric "time capsule," according to the local government.
The latest discovery at La Garma is the prehistoric dwelling from 16,800 years ago, which occupies an oval space of almost 54 square feet. The dwelling is delimited by an alignment of stone blocks and stalagmites that supported a structure of sticks and skins leaning against a ledge of the cave wall.
Beth Upton comes from a forest tradition in the Burmese jungle of Pa Auk Monastery
.
Spanish caves have served many good purposes
In the center of the dwelling, the researchers found evidence of a small bonfire, around which lie several remains left behind by the hunter-gatherers who lived there. These include antler and bone instruments, as well as evidence of fur working and stone tool production.
In total, the archeologists documented more than 4,600 objects during their investigations, primarily the bones of deer, horses, and bison, but also pieces of flint, needles, and a proto-harpoon, as well as shells of marine mollusks.
They also found decorated bones, among them, a spectacular pierced bone of an aurochs — an extinct giant cattle species — with an engraved representation of that animal, as well as several pendants that the residents of the dwelling may have worn. More + VIDEO

The lovely and massive Buddha statue in Enlightenment Grove, Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India.
The oldest settlements in South India: The Keeladi excavations
(Storytrails) Premiered March 6, 2023. CHENNAI (Madras), India - How old are the oldest settlements in South India?
What did the recent excavations at Keeladi (aka Keezhadi) and other places along the Vaigai and Porunai (Thamirabarani) rivers reveal?
For a long time, it was believed that South India had no ancient urban civilizations like in the north [where the Indus Valley Civilization and the Vedic Civilization thrived near Gandhara, now in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan, which were formerly parts of the Indian Empire].
While the Sangam Period (dated 300 BCE–300 CE) literature talks of a sophisticated Tamilcivilization, there was no concrete archeological proof to back it up…until the path-finding/groundbreaking Keeladi excavations that started in 2015.
A series of digs carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India in a little village near Madurai unearthed artifacts dating back at least to the 6th century BCE [the time of the Buddha].
This included pottery fragments with graffiti marks very similar to the Indus Valley Civilization script.
But Keeladi isn’t the first or only place to offer evidence of ancient settlements in Tamil Nadu.
Adichanallur, Korkai, Pallavaram, Attirampakkam, and many more sites have produced an array of amazing artifacts over the last 100 years or so, including the oldest human tool to be ever discovered in India -- a hand-axe that was discovered in Pallavaram, part of present-day Chennai.
It’s only in recent years that the pieces of the jigsaw have started coming together. Archeologists believe that many more exciting discoveries, possibilities, and answers are waiting to be found at this site.
