Swedish girls can't fight (except this one)

(VoteSport) She looks like an angel, fights like a demon, and mauls people: Sweden's Smilla "The Hurricane" Sundell.

The mind imagines its reality?
Sucker Punch
is an American fantasy action film directed by Zack Snyder and co-written by Snyder and Steve Shibuya. It is Snyder's first film based on an original concept [6, 7]. The film stars Emily Browning as "Babydoll" (and another named "Sweet Pea"), young women who are committed to a mental institution. As Babydoll collects items she needs to escape, she enters a series of fantasy worlds where she and her fellow inmates are strong, experienced warriors. Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino, and Oscar Isaac also star. (Who can explain it?More

Jake Paul to be beaten by heavyweight boxer

Netflix: Live bloodbath on Dec. 19th
(ESPN) YouTuber-turned-boxer "I beat Mike Tyson [who may or may not have been paid to take a fall]" Jake Paul will face former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a professional heavyweight boxing match on Dec. 19 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, Most Valuable Promotions told ESPN on Monday.

The fight -- which will be streamed live on Netflix -- is scheduled for eight 3-minute rounds, and the fighters will wear 10-ounce gloves, the standard for heavyweight fights.

It's an about-face for Jake Paul, 27, who was originally slated to take on WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis in an exhibition fight on Nov. 14, 2025. However, the bout was canceled after Davis was named in a civil lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend accusing the boxer of [testosterone poisoning,] aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Taking a dive for the money?

Breaking news: Fake Jake to get Real in the ring!
Instead of an exhibition against a hard-hitting pro boxer who campaigned at 130 pounds, Paul will now face a two-time heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist in a sanctioned professional boxing match who has fought as high as 256 pounds, over 100 pounds heavier than Davis [and much taller].

Paul has campaigned primarily as a cruiserweight with a 200-pound weight limit, although he weighed 227.25 pounds for his heavyweight exhibition fight with Mike Tyson in 2024.

Anthony Joshua is so good he has a wax figure in London

Call me a con-man to my face! - We said 'artist'
"This isn't an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day," Jake Paul said in a statement, "a professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime. When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title. To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry. On Friday, Dec. 19, under the lights in Miami, live globally only on Netflix, the torch gets passed and Britain's Goliath gets put to sleep."

Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) is still a novice in the sport with no notable amateur experience and only 70 total rounds boxed as a pro since 2020. He'll take a massive step up from MMA fighters and journeyman boxers to face Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), one of the hardest-hitting and most decorated heavyweights in the world with over 160 rounds boxed in his 12 years as a professional. Is Shaolin Zen Temple kung fu real?

Buddhist vs. Shaolin monks: What's the difference?
Maling Shaolin Kung Fu Academy edited by Wisdom Quarterly
Shaolin Temple, nestled in the Songshan Mountains of China's Henan Province, is renowned for its rich history and dual traditions of Buddhism and martial arts.

Within its sacred walls, both peaceful Buddhist monks and Shaolin "warrior monks" live and practice, each following distinct paths of spiritual and physical cultivation, providing a fascinating glimpse into two distinct yet intertwined traditions.

Explore the daily lives, rites of passage, and unique practices of these Buddhist monks, revealing a rich tapestry of discipline, devotion, and heritage that continues to captivate and inspire people around the world.

A difference in monks

Buddhist monks can be found in various regions across the world, each embodying the diverse traditions and practices of Buddhism.

In [Mahayana Buddhist] China, there are multiple sects such as Chan (Zen) Buddhism, Pure Land Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism [which claims to be a distinct branch called Vajrayana], each with its unique rituals, teachings, and monastic disciplinary codes.

Outside of China, Buddhism existed in an earlier form in countries like Thailand, Sri Lanka, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Laos, with Theravada Buddhism being predominant in Southeast Asia.

Mahayana Buddhism flourishes in East Asia, including financial powerhouses Japan and Singapore.

These regional differences lead to a rich variety of practices [and old and misleading distinctions like "Northern" and "Southern" schools, extant Mahayana vs. defunct Hinayana], from the monasticism of Theravada Southeast Asia to meditative and austere lifestyle of Japanese Zen monks to the vibrant rituals and chanting of Tibetan monks [and other Himalayan traditions in Nepal, Bhutan, India, Mongolia, and Russia].

Despite these regional differences, all Buddhist monastics (monks and nuns) share a common dedication to the principles of mindfulness (sati), ethical living (sila), and the pursuit of enlightenment (bodhi).

So what’s the difference between Chinese Mahayana Buddhist monks and Shaolin monks?

Buddhist monks
Literary monastics (wenseng) study
Religious affiliation: Buddhist monks adhere to the teachings and practices of "Buddhism" -- which might be divided between those who follow the historical Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) and those who have moved beyond that to devotional practices worshipping Cosmic Buddhas like Amitabha and Vairocana or great Bodhisattvas like Budai and Guan Yin.

Buddhism a spiritual tradition that encompasses many schools and sects. Buddhism originated in proto-India and spread to other parts of Asia [particularly South and Central Asia] then to China, where it became one of the three major religions along with Confucianism and Taoism.

Monastic orders
Warrior monks (wuseng) train to fight
Buddhist monastics belong to monastic orders or communities (sanghas), where they take vows of celibacy, poverty, and self-discipline.

They devote their lives to the pursuit of enlightenment and the alleviation of suffering, following the Noble (Ennobling) Eightfold Path and other Buddhist principles.

Spiritual practices
Buddhist monastics engage in a wide range of spiritual practices, including sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindfulness practices, protection (paritta) chanting, sutra recitation, and ritual ceremonies.

They seek to cultivate wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness through their practices, aiming to attain nirvana -- liberation from the cycle of rebirth and death known as samsara. More: Buddhist vs. Shaolin Monks: What's the Difference?

Dave Chappelle: MAGA fears Black sports

There was a "Mann Act" (previously called the White-Slave Traffic Act, a U.S. federal law passed in the summer of 1910, Ch. 395, 36 Stat. 825, codified as amended at 18 U.S.C. §§ 2421–2424) named after [racist American] Congressman James Robert Mann of Illinois), and the white 54th Gov. of NY Eliot Spitzer was going to be prosecuted under it decades later for his prostitution scandal?

Dave Chappelle nails why MAGA fears Black history
Jack Johnson (boxer)
(TYT Sports) Sept. 29, 2025: A resurfaced Dave Chappelle standup comedy bit about legendary Black heavyweight champion Jack Johnson perfectly captures why MAGA’s crusade to rewrite and erase history is so dangerous. Johnson’s story exposed the fragility of white supremacy in the boxing ring and beyond — and the violent backlash that followed. As Rick Strom explains, Chappelle’s comedy reveals deeper truths about America’s refusal to confront racism, and why protecting Black history is essential. #TYTsports #Sports #RickStrom

Dave Chappelle and Muhammad Ali were right about Jack Johnson
(Lu Mazing) Aug. 22, 2025: Jack Johnson was more than a boxing champion, he was a revolutionary figure who challenged a racially divided world. Dave Chappelle highlights how Johnson defeated white champions and lived boldly without fear, openly defying the rules of his time and inspiring generations of Black people to embrace courage and self-worth.

Muhammad Ali reminds us of the sheer bravery of Johnson standing completely alone, facing threats and hostility when there were no civil rights organizations to support him. His resilience became a symbol for all Black people to fight for dignity and pursue their dreams.

Donald Trump posthumously pardoned Johnson, acknowledging the injustice he endured under the racist Mann Act, recognizing his extraordinary achievements and legacy as a trailblazer in sports and society. This video brings together perspectives from comedy, sports, and history to show how Jack Johnson changed the world and why his courage continues to inspire us all.

.
Is spectator racism a 'demon' at performances?
First of all, let's get one thing straight. "The Buddha" didn't fight anyone. The Bodhisattva did. Who's the Bodhisattva? He was the Buddha before he became the Buddha (e.g., Siddhartha before supreme enlightenment -- the same stream, a different time). Before he has become the "Awakened One," he is referred to as the Bodhisatta or the "Being bent-on-supreme-enlightenment"). He for aeons before his great awakening (maha-bodhi) wandered through endless rebirths (samsara) not seeing the ultimate truth of Dependent Origination like the rest of us are still doing.
The undercard has an all-female fight to proceed the big match, pulling women in to watch.
.
Fight the real power [a corrupt FBI agency*].
At the time, as the Bodhisatta striving for supreme enlightenment (samma-sam-bodhi), not ordinary enlightenment (bodhi), he was making foolish mistakes that would come back to haunt him, as ours do to us.

In one rebirth in particular, the Bodhisatta was a strong prizefighter, who would take to the ring and wrestle. He was a champion. In one match, he slammed an opponent down to the ground, injuring the fighter's back so severely that later, as the Buddha, he frequently suffered from excruciating back pain as a karmic consequence.

Bloody girl fight

A chicken fight? - We're cocks, sir.
The pain was so bad that would make him unable to continue teaching. He would often have Ven. Sariputra, one of his chief disciples "foremost in wisdom," take over, while the Buddha laid down and rested. The pain got so bad as he got older that he had to resort to entering states of samadhi (jhana, "meditative absorption") to make it tolerable or put the physical pain into abeyance.
  • The explanation for the ultimate source of the Buddha's back pain is given in the Jataka Tales ("Rebirth Stories") as the playing out of karma (the vipaka and phala) from when he was a boxer, wrestler, fighter in the ring.
  • Do you think maybe the big election has something to do with the big fight? We are all dying to see a Black person beat the stuffing out of a cocky (he does call himself El Gallo, which is Spanish for "The Cock" after all) white person. This makes Big Mike the "Great Black Hope." Do it for the loser Kamala, Mike!
  • I wouldn't risk it. Turn away. (Edgar Cayce)
    WARNING
: It could be bad karma to watch and/or applaud such savagery (as Edgar Cayce warns in the readings about spectating Coliseum matches and thereby sharing in the individualized collective karma of encouraging violence), and it absolutely is so if gambling. Bettors, be warned, financial logic dictates that Jake Paul is going to win, not because he's a better fighter or stronger or crazier or anything like that. He is likely to win because that makes much more money for them in the grudge match that comes next. How much are they making this time? Paul is being paid twice as much as Tyson ($40 million), and all the media hype tells you that Tyson is going to destroy him. Go with your emotions, and go to the poorhouse like everyone else.
  • Boxing: How much Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be paid for 'performing' on this Netflix fight (It's called the Entertainment Industry, after all, not the Entertainment Charity)
  • Mike Tyson at 58 continues to change the game (not the serious sport of sparring, but the game of milking money from spectators who want to see blood on the mat)
  • Mike Tyson's Ferrari driving 1000BHP into the ring with Jake Paul [on his millennial hipster chrome tricycle]
Don't make this about race, you Ignorant!
This is strange because he did not attack his opponent violently and personally, but rather by mutual consent and in a professional capacity. They were both taking a chance, and no one thought the Bodhisattva was doing anything wrong for "just doing his job" of professionally fighting.

Heavy unskillful karma (demerit) was nevertheless generated, which came to fruition many times in his final rebirth as the Buddha. (Full enlightenment makes an end of all further rebirth and suffering).

The Fix Is In: The Showbiz Manipulations of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NASCAR
The Fix Is In (Brian Tuohey)
Investigative author Brian Tuohy, with 4.3 out of 5 stars after172 ratings, looks behind the facade of professional sports in America: It's all about fair play and the goal of winning championships.

At least that's the spin. But could it be a massive showbiz operation filled with greedy owners, crooked referees, and coddled players, all with the unstated goal of grabbing as much money as possible?

Author, sports buff Brian Tuohy
Tuohy provides a fully sourced saga of the corruption that has infected the storied histories of the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, and NASCAR.

With reality obscured by a complacent and often complicit sports media, The Fix Is In shines a light on a hidden history of clandestine arrangements between TV networks [is Netflix a network now?] and sports leagues, all against a background of heavy drinking, chemical drugging, reckless gambling, and organized crime. COMMENTARY
*Sports Gambling, Fixing, FBI
Do not bet on this sport. Anyone who gambles with the ambition to win will be manipulated out of money. At least bet on the big picture, not the narrative being pitched. If we had to guess, Jake Paul is going to win. Why? Nothing to do with his fighting or ability, everything to do with showbiz, FBI gambits, and the way to spin a narrative for maximum profit. (Of course, it cannot even be guaranteed that Paul will take it because the real is act is waiting to see how the bets stack up: Which outcome produces the greatest number of losses for the greatest number of bettors? That's what sports bookies, statisticians, and fixers are all about calculating). Think about it. Who wants to see a big, hated monster with a lisp win and win again? No. Watch Rocky and take a Hollywood script writing class. To build drama for the next fight, Match 3, there has to be something big on the line like Tyson's pride, the belt, the record. That's what he gets paid millions for selling out. How do they calculate who should win? That's easy. How do they calculate who will win? That's trick. When the masses zig, the number crunchers and fixers have to zag. It's like setting the odds-on slot machines.
