The Origins of Halloween (video)

The Roots of Hallowe’en: Is it possible to observe a pre-commercialized version?
Christopher Nyerges, PasadenaWeekly.com, 10/31/24 edited by Wisdom Quarterly
Written by ghost, author's late wife
Why has the day of All Hallows Eve — Hallowe’en — devolved into a day of fun and fear? How was this once-Holy Day commemorated before it was all commercialized into a sexy and scary night? Is it possible to discover the roots of this day and observe it in its original fashion today?

My circle of friends attempted to answer these questions. We determined that we’d need to dig up whatever historical facts [like Sir Frazer's The Golden Bough] we could find that show how this day was commemorated before the Year 1700, more or less.
  • The Golden Bough: A Study in Comparative Religion (retitled The Golden Bough: A Study in Magic and Religion in its second edition, gutenberg.org)

Though we couldn’t be 100% certain, we at least assumed that “commercialization” didn’t really exist in 1700. All of the European and some American commemorations before that year probably retained some semblance of what the day was originally all about. So, first, let’s begin with the day.

It is believed that the ancient Celts observed something called a “Samhain festival” toward the end of October. The World Book Encyclopedia states: “The Celts believed that the dead could walk among the living at this time.”

During Samhain (pronounced \sao-in\), the living could visit with the dead. Elements of the customs can be traced to a Druid ceremony in pre-Christian times.

The Celts had festivals for two major gods — a sun god and a god of the dead (called Samhain), whose festival was held on Nov. 1st, the beginning of the Celtic New Year.  More: The Roots of Hallowe’en

Demons, possession hidden from public

They're hiding truth about demons from public

You don't believe in demons, do you?
(End Times Productions) The spirit realms are spooky, full of the dead and various other restless and unclean spirits. Devils (maras), demons (yakkhas), fallen angels (asuras), and spiritual warfare, these are scary subjects for conspiracy theory spewing uncles and church Karens. But there's truth to it. Here is a segment of an interview with Ruzz Dizdar about his book The Black Awakening.

"Monopoly" created to show evils of capitalism

"How I Built This" (Planet Money, 1/25/23); Ananda; Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

"Monopoly" is a board game built around capitalism, so is its origin story
He used to have a monocle (Mandela Effect)
"Monopoly" is one of the best-selling board games in history. It's been an iconic part of American life: a cheap pastime during the Great Depression, a reminder of home for soldiers during WW II, an American export during its rise as a global superpower, and a best-seller during the pandemic.

The game's staying power may in part be because of a strong American myth — the idea that anyone, with just a little cash, can rise from rags to riches.

Author Mary Pilon: The Monopolists
Mary Pilon
, author of The Monopolists: Obsession, Fury, and the Scandal Behind the World's Favorite Board Game, dug into the origin story that was once included with every box of the game:
  • A man named Charles Darrow was unemployed and came up with the game to pass the time.
He took Monopoly to the game company Parker Brothers in 1934 and eventually became a millionaire.

But there's another origin story – a very different one that promotes a very different and negative image of financial exploitation capitalism (with two sets of starkly different rules on how to play it).

That story shows how a critique of capitalism (and private property) grew from a seed of an idea in a rebellious young woman's mind into a game legendary for its celebration of wealth at all costs.

Going to h*ll w/Avenged Sevenfold+Pussy Riot

A7X, Pussy Riot (AP); Saint Xero, 6/6/23; ACA, 1212/19; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly
This band sucks! They're a bunch of jocks who somehow made it big pretending to be Goth G'n'R.
Avenged Sevenfold is coming to LA with Pussy Riot (June 9). We have to go.to see PR.

Come to our L.A. shows. It's an art spectacle!
It wouldn't be H*LL without anti-Putin activist Nadya of Pussy Riot fame. Avenged Sevenfold came back to Los Angeles after a long hiatus. They have a new album to push, Life is But a Dream, and they were cool enough to put Pussy Riot on the bill. Nadya, the face of the band (or anarcho-feminist-collective), has been in Los Angeles recently, opening up her new product line, a fashion statement of balaclavas (those cute, knitted masks for rioting in Russia's cold weather, kind of like our pussy cat pink caps).

Life is But a Dream...in two minutes
A7X is very popular after the band's release of Life is But a Dream. Here it is in two minutes.

Exorcist reveals his haunting experiences
Famous Father Vinny Lampert warns Catholic kids about occult sh*t

(A Current Affair) A priest (Fr. Vincent Lampert) in the U.S. is one of the world's few Vatican-trained exorcists. He speaks about some of his most haunting experiences and why he believes exorcisms are on the rise today as religion declines. Full episodes: bit.ly/2qlfdmd. #ACA #TracyGrimshaw

"Mattel" (official visualizer)
(Avenged Sevenfold) The new A7X album is LIBAD, and the best song on it might be "Mattel." It was written and recorded over the span of four years and tracks from it will be heard live on Friday (6/9/23). It was inspired by the depressing writings and Western philosophy of Albert Camus with Wes Lang art encapsulating the theme of existentialism: a7x.lnk.to/libad. #AvengedSevenfold #LifeIsButADream #Mattel

Exorcist's WARNING: Holy Spirit Board

BallerAlert via MSN.com, April 1, 2023; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly

Catholic exorcist warns “Holy Spirit Board” could allow Devil to disguise as the God
(Gibson Precious, BallerAlert, April 1, 2023)
There are many ways to walk down the stairs in a stairwell to... But old time crab walk?

Exorcisms are real, Kids.
A Catholic exorcist is sounding the alarm, warning against a seemingly innocent game that may have evil intent or at least potential.

Father Ernesto Caro, an exorcist in the Diocese of Monterey, Mexico, appeared on EWTN News Nightly recently, where he voiced his concerns about a game known as the “Holy Spirit Board.”

Per Amazon.com, the board allows users to speak directly to God, who’ll communicate through the board to “answer all of life’s most important questions.”

However, Exorcist Caro says this game is nothing more than a disguised Ouija Board.

“It’s not a game. It’s a trap from the Devil,” Caro explained. He says the comments are indicative of people falling for the “trap,” as many claims that the Holy Spirit spoke to them through the colorful board. More

All-American Rockefeller art of the 1920s when the USA was Flapper-cool and elegant.

Do you think maybe this is all just an April Fool's joke? Come on, what kind of "news" is this for "Baller Alert" to deliver on April 1st? "Exorcist from Mexico" sounds the alarm, but the Satanists at the Vatican in the Holy See of the Holy Roman Empire's religious wing stay quiet? Good Pope Wheelchair Francis has nothing to say as he recovers from his Covid-like episode? Seems Devil is winning on this one, and where's the God in all this? Let's Scope this out. Nope, it's REAL!
