It's not "rape" if you drink.
The rape and child molestation pale in comparison to the hypocrisy of police officers, sheriff's deputies, and the string of fired police chiefs. The Oakland mayor can hardly keep up assigning men to chief only to find that they have been compromised by their crimes and illegal disclosures of secrets to the child they were raping, prostituting, and passing around to neighboring Richmond and other Bay Area police officials.

OAKLAND, California - Three officers at the Oakland Police Department have been suspended with pay following allegations of sexual misconduct beginning in 2014 with a girl who was 16 years old at the time.

The girl is now a legal adult, but given her age at the time of the supposed encounters, the officers could be charged with statutory rape under California law.

The girl, Celeste Guap, is a relative of a civilian employee at the department. On April 27, she posted a photo of a police vehicle to Facebook, with the caption:

“Took me back to Richmond in style,” suggesting she was with an Oakland police officer that night. On May 10, Guap shared a memory on Facebook of a post she’d written last year that said, “He calls me his Ms. Undercover...that's cuz we always undercover.”

Guap is believed to have slept with multiple officers at the Oakland Police Department, though she has only publicly admitted to her relationship with one. In a since-deleted post published on May 10, Guap wrote, “The only officer I messed with underage is sadly gone now so IDK why this [sic] is still being brought up.”

The officer Guap mentions is speculated to be Brendan O’Brien, who committed suicide on September 25, 2015. The 30-year-old Officer O’Brien was reported to have left a suicide note behind with information that supposedly sparked the investigation into the sex scandal involving Guap.

The circumstances surrounding Officer O’Brien’s death also remain unsettled. Prior to his suicide, O’Brien’s wife, Huerta Lopez, was found dead in their East Oakland apartment on June 16, 2014. Her death, caused by a gunshot wound to the head, was ruled a suicide, the bullet coming from her husband’s off-duty Glock 45 pistol.

Another bullet was fired from the gun that pierced the apartment wall, with both shell casings found by her feet. Lopez’s family members hold heavy suspicions to this day that Officer O’Brien was behind his wife’s murder.

The investigation into the sexual misconduct involving Celeste Guap and the officers from the Oakland Police Department is ongoing.
