Jesus Christ took mystery cult drugs?

Painting of Jesus and his young Apostles smoking  (Generative AI | Magnific)
Dr. Ammon Hillman found abundant evidence Jesus used drugs to see "God"
The Chemical Muse (Hillman)
Classicist and Christian theologian Dr. Ammon Hillman says the historical Jesus took many entheogenic drugs as part of the mystery cult he formed with his very young apostles. This was in keeping with a long imperial Greek and Roman practice of mystery school initiations, like the famous Eleusinian Mysteries many great Western thinkers like Aristotle participated in for mystic visions, divine knowledge, and esoteric understanding.

So Jesus got high in Gethsemane and other places around ancient Palestine?

.
Cult worship of the Goddess Demeter
The Eleusinian rites, ceremonies, and beliefs, like those of other "mystery schools," were kept secret on pain of death and consistently preserved from antiquity [6].

For the initiated, the rebirth of the Greek Goddess Persephone symbolized the eternity of life that flows from generation to generation, and they believed that they would have a reward in the afterlife [7, 8].

There are many paintings and pieces of pottery that depict various aspects of these Mysteries. Since the Mysteries involved visions and conjuring of an afterlife, some modern scholars believe that the power and longevity of the Eleusinian Mysteries -- a consistent set of rites, ceremonies, and experiences that spanned two millennia -- came from psychedelic/entheogenic drugs [9, 10].

The name of the town, Eleusis, seems to be pre-Greek and is likely a counterpart with Elysium and the Goddess Eileithyia [11].

Drug-induced mysticism
ETYMOLOGY: Eleusinian Mysteries (Greek Ἐλευσίνια Μυστήρια) was the name of the "mysteries" [occult, esoteric knowledges] of the City of Eleusis.

The name of the City Eleusis was established before ancient Greece, likely related to the Goddess Eileithyia [12]. Her name Ἐλυσία ("Elysia") in Laconia and Messene probably relates her with the month Eleusinios and Eleusis [13], but this is debated [14].

The Ancient Greek word from which English "mystery" derives, mystḗrion (μυστήριον), means "mystery or secret rite" [15] and is related to the verb myéō (μυέω), which means "(I) teach, initiate into the mysteries" [16], and the noun mýstēs (μύστης), which means "one initiated" [17].

The word mystikós (μυστικός), source of the English word "mystic," means "connected with the mysteries" or "private," "secret" (as in Modern Greek) [18]. More

Led Zep, Black Sabbath's occult black magic

(Wes's Tone Foundry) Dark Jimmy Page's Led Zeppelin and the band's hidden messages: Aleister Crowley, curses, and backward masking
"Stairwell to Hell" (parody)
Dhr. Seven (parody lyrics), Seth Auberon (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly

[Instrumental intro]

[Verse 1]
There's a gent, see, he's sure all that glitters's been sold
And he's buying a Stairwell to Hell
When he gets there, he knows, if The Doors are all closed
With a word, he can get what he came for
Ooh, and he's buying a Stairwell to Hell

[Verse 2]
There's writing on the wall, but he wants to be reassured
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by a brook, there's a raven who mocks
Sometimes all of our thoughts are mistaken

[Refrain]
Ooh, it makes me ponder
Ooh, makes me ponder

[Verse 3]
There's a feeling of unease when I look to the east
And my soul, oh, is crying about Eden
In my thoughts, I have seen fiery smoke beyond the trees

[Refrain]
Ooh, it makes me ponder
Ooh, really makes me ponder

[Verse 4]
Martin van Maele's La Sorcière
And it's whispered that soon if this piper calls the tune
Then our stringer will lead us to seasons
And a Golden day will Dawn for those who stand long
And this forest will echo with laughter

[Interlude]
Oh-oh-oh-oh-woah-ho

[Verse 5]
If there's a hustle in your head, yo, don't be cunning, no
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There may be no time to change the road you're on

And it makes me ponder
Ohh, oh-oh

[Verse 6]
Your head is humming and it won't slow, in case you don't know
The Real Piper's calling you to join Him
Dear gent, see? Can you hear me?
The wind blows, and did you know --
Your stairwell rides on a hissing wind? Oh

[Guitar solo]

Hans Memling "Hell"
[Bridge]
And as we sidewind down the road
Our shadows stronger than our souls
There slides a gent, see? The One we all know
Who shines bright light and wants to show

How everything we can turn to gold
And if we hum it very fast
The tune will come to us at last
When we are one with the One in Hell, yeah

[Outro]
And he's bought us a stairwell to Hell

When Jesus Christ was a PAGAN God

Mithras is Mitra is Maitri is Maitreya is Messiah, ancient origins of a Teacher (Friend) to Come

Was Jesus originally a Pagan god? | The Christ Series
(Spirit Science) April 2, 2025: Why is it that before Jesus [the Christ, the Annointed One, the Nazarene] ever existed, stories about his nature existed for thousands of years?
Long before Christianity, the blueprint was already written. This episode of The Christ Series explores the ancient Mystery School traditions of the Mediterranean world — spiritual schools [based around an entheogenic, psychedelic, hallucinogenic drug, according to Greek philologist and Bible scholar Dr. Ammon Hillman] that centered on dying and resurrecting godmen, sacred rituals of rebirth, and the quest for [ego death and] inner transformation.
Egyptian gods Osiris, Anubis, Horus
From baptisms for Osiris in Egypt to Dionysus in Greece, Mithras [a Maitreya/Messiah figure once worshiped on the Vatican grounds in the Holy See in Rome] in Persia, and Attis in Asia Minor, the core themes now associated with Jesus that were already part of a much older spiritual tapestry.

The idea of a "divine incarnation" (avatar) is not unique to Jesus or Christianity but is found in Hinduism with Krishna, Buddhism with Svetaketu* (descending from the Tusita heaven or celestial space world to be reborn as Prince Siddhartha) [Setaketu was the Bodhisatta (the Buddha-to-be) reborn in Tusita in his penultimate rebirth. Sp.i.161; MA.i.103], Zoroastrianism with Saoshyant, and the Egyptian solar deity Horus, who daily vanquishes darkness (Set).

Dive into how early Jewish thinkers, especially in Alexandria, encountered these traditions and began weaving them into a new story — one that would become Christianity. But what emerged in those early days was not the rigid religion we know today. It was something mystical, symbolic, and deeply personal.

Mystery school drug use in ancient times

The Chemical Muse (Hillman)
In the city-states that gave birth to Western civilization, entheogenic and/or psychedelic DRUGS and substances were an everyday element of a free society. Often, drugs were not just available, but vitally necessary for use in medicine, religious ceremonies, and war campaigns. Their proponents and users existed in all classes up to the emperor. Citing examples in myths, mysteries, medicine, and literature, Dr. Hillman shows how drugs have influenced and inspired... More

*World's first reincarnation story
Maya's dream (Setaketu Bodhisatta)
Before the Future-Buddha Shakyamuni was reborn on earth, he was reborn in a higher sensual heaven (the Kama Loka or "Sensual Sphere" world called Tusita or "the Joyful") as its ruler, Svetaketu (Pali Setaketu). There is a story in the Vedic Chandogya Upanishad that is the first time rebirth/reincarnation is mentioned in the Vedas and perhaps in all of the known writings in human history. In this story, Svetaketu returns home from studying. His childhood friends ask him what he learned about the afterlife, to which he replies that it was not part of his curriculum. They ask Svetaketu's father, and he also does not know, so they ask the king, who claims to have known all along and explains the concept of reincarnation. He adds that it is a common belief among the kshatriya (warrior, noble, administrative class) and from this belief, they draw their power (courage in battle) [2]. More

Emerald Tablets, Hermes, Egyptian Pyramids

The Emerald Tablets and the Great Pyramid of Egypt
Greek "god" (deva) Hermes
Like the lost "Hall of Records," the "Emerald Tablets of Thoth" are one of the great enigmas of Ancient Egypt. Scholars consider them to be a legend concerning the gods (devas) revealing mysteries involving the ancient societies that survived the "Great Flood." They are said to be cryptic, containing the secrets of alchemy and the Philosopher’s Stone, and they are the foundation of the Hermetic (Hermes Trismegistus) tradition. The tablets were translated into Arabic between the 6th and 9th centuries then to Latin around 1200 ACE and then into the European languages. What many do not know is that they mention the Great Pyramid of Egypt, which they claim was build by the "God of Wisdom," Thoth, in Pre-Flood (antediluvian) times. How do the Emerald Tablets relate to the pyramids of Egypt?

Meditation: Passive vs. Active

By Im a frayed knot (Daily Kos, 6/28/09)

The subject of meditation came up yesterday, and I decided to write a diary. Before I begin, I must stress in the strongest possible terms that I am no more an accomplished meditator than I am a doctor. If I could do as well as I can talk, I could do much more with my life than I am doing. I am not a 'human complete;' rather, I am a 'human becoming.'"

DIARY
I began my study of meditation decades ago when I read Dion Fortune's book Training and Work of an Initiate. In that book she explains that there are two types of meditation, which she ascribes [to] the difference between Eastern and Western cultures. She says that Eastern cultures try to reach the soul up to the heavens, whereas Western cultures try to bring the heavens to Earth.

As I look at the behaviors of these cultures (in a less blended form than perhaps we have now), I see her point. Anyway, to accomplish the cultural goals, which are expressed person by person, the Eastern approach is passive, uniting oneself with the "oversoul." The Western approach is active, pulling the beauty of the "oversoul" to enrich the individual. Subtle difference, but it manifests strongly in the meditative approach.

You can see the stark differences when you look at the Deepak Chopra approach (Eastern) vs. Franz Bardon's approach as discussed in Initiation into Hermetics. Today I discuss the passive approach, as I find it is easier to get started in that one. Over time, migrating to the active approach may be useful, especially to activists who want to see change on Earth. There are several books out about Eastern meditation practices. I tend to lean toward Chopra's books because he communicates his view in words and phrases that the Western mind grasps easily. I summarize his words here with my own thoughts intermingled. More>>
