The Moon is inside our atmosphere, which is much larger than we're told  (USSR).

Culturally and spiritually significant across many societies, full moons are associated with festivals such as Buddhist Vesak (~May) and various Hindu purnima observances (such as the Buddha's Birthday). The "fasting day" or Uposatha is also of tremendous importance to the Buddha and Theravada Buddhism.

Many traditions have named specific full moons—like the harvest moon or hunter's moon—and linked them to seasonal and agricultural events.

Folklore has associated full moons with madness, supernatural events, and insomnia, though scientific studies have so far found inconsistent evidence of behavioral effects on anything but the tides.

In Buddhism, Vesak (Wesak) is celebrated on the full moon day of the ancient Indian month of Vaisakha, marking the birth, great enlightenment, and final nirvana of the historical Buddha [11].

In Arabic, badr (بدر ) means "full moon," but it is often translated as "white moon," referring to The White Days, the three days when the full moon is celebrated.

Moonstruck is not necessarily lunacy.

Full moons are traditionally associated with insanity (lunacy and lunatic), various supernatural or "magical phenomena" such as clinical lycanthropy (turning into a werewolf or hirsute dogman), and insomnia (the persistent inability to sleep).

We can save the world or at least this planet.

One needn't be a girl or a goddess to be a nurturer, a steward of Planet Earth, the Goddess Gaia (Bhumi, Tierra, Terra, Urth). Planet Wild is doing it by human power. As much as people think Buddhism is atheistic because it does not bow to some "creator God," it is actually nontheistic and polytheistic. There are many gods (devas), Gods (brahmas) and Great Brahma, and GOD (the impersonal/transpersonal Brahman) or "godhead" like the Vedic religion of old or modern Hinduism talk about. The celestial bodies are all deified (likely because ET visitors said they were from there or were rulers of those places visible in the night sky).

Countless worlds on 31 planes

In the Jataka (Rebirth) Tales of the Buddha, a kind of collection of Aesop Fables (with a strong moral to each story, which always seems to be the same moral -- what the person did in this life that person did in a previous life/lives), he recounts being reborn as the deity of the Moon (Soma) and Sun (Surya) multiple times, as were others close to him. Did he mean he was the ruler there, the embodiment, or a deity (deva) from there named after that world? It seems that when Dr. Steven Greer, MD of Disclosure Project, Sirius Disclosure, and Gaia TV, says that "Earth" is literally a female deity, he is onto something. He has some reason for believing it and saying so other than others having said so. If we can be reborn as devas (shining ones, light beings), and we can, we can theoretically be born into the role of Mother Earth, the Goddess Gaia, Bhumi, or Tierra, just as Sakka King of the Devas was reborn as the king of the World of the Thirty-Three and the Realm of the Four Great Sky Kings, the two worlds immediately above the human plane.

(The Weekend University) The sciences are pointing toward a new sense of a living world. The cosmos [Buddhist cakkavala, "world-system," or loka, "sphere," or 31 Planes of Existence, categories composed of countless worlds] is like a developing organism, and so is our planet, Gaia (Bhumi, Tierra).

The laws of Nature may be more like habits. Partly as a result of the "hard problem" of finding space for human consciousness in the materialist worldview, there is a renewed interest in panpsychist philosophies, according to which some form of mind, experience or consciousness is associated with all self-organizing systems, including atoms, molecules, and plants.

Maybe the sun is conscious and other [planets and] stars and entire galaxies. If so, what about the mind of the universe as a whole?

ABOUT: Dr. Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist and author of more than 85 scientific papers and was named among the top 100 Global Thought Leaders for 2013. How shall we gain enlightenment? Prajnaparamita

The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, guaranteeing American women the right to vote, celebrates a big birthday today (June 4th), as it was passed by both chambers of Congress 100 years ago on June 4, 1919.

First, the House of Representatives passed the amendment on May 21, 1919; the Senate followed on June 4 with a vote of 56 to 25 (National Archives).

The next year, following approval by three-fourths of state legislatures, the amendment was ratified into the Constitution.

In this day (dystrumpian times) and age (Kali Yuga), it is not easy to find a proper role model, a hero/heroine, an idol who does not quickly disappoint.

Buddhists (and anarchist punks) have no need for heroes, it is said. But that's not to say we don't enjoy admiring good people doing good things (rejoice/saddhu-saddhu-saddhu!) even as the world comes after them for doing it.

Take our heroine Dr. Jill Stein, M.D., Green Party presidential candidate who stood up to the twin-monsters Donny and Hillary and did not succumb to Barry or Bernie's misleading sweet talk. Kids look up to rich automatons Tadolf Swiftler and Catty Purry because that's what they're fed. Not us.

When we want youthful idols to look up to, we look toward the Himalayas to "Buddha Boy" (Ram Bahadur Bomjon/Maitreya?/Ven. Dharma Sangha) and Sadhvi Saraswati-ji, whom we're calling the living "Goddess Girl" (not to be confused with the revolving Nepalese Kumari).

If for no spiritual reason, look how they stand up for animals and our environment! But there are spiritual reasons relating to lives lived dedicated to meditating and awakening in a time of great lust, anger, and confusion (aka "greed, hatred, and delusion," the Three Poisons of the heart and mind in Buddhism).

It's been seven years of meditation, long enough -- according to the historical Buddha -- to attain enlightenment.

Who is Buddha Boy?

It all began in 2005 under a tree in Nepal.

Ram Bahadur Bomjon (Sanskrit, राम बहादुर बामजान), nicknamed "Buddha Boy" (born circa April 9, 1990), is also known by the monastic names Palden Dorje and now Dharma Sangha. He was born in Ratanapuri, Nepal. He rose to fame when he drew media attention and tens of thousands of visitors by months of complete fasting and meditation. He began his meditation on May 16, 2005 until large crowds disrupted him "because there is no peace" when they started coming to see him in large numbers. He left and reappeared elsewhere in Nepal on December 26, 2006. He left again on March 8, 2007. On March 26, 2007, inspectors from the Area Police Post Nijgadh in Ratanapuri found Bomjon meditating inside an underground chamber of about 7 square feet. More

You take the good, you take the bad, you take it all and there you have...bad karma decrying a good aspirant to enlightenment in our dark and dismal times. About four tiny but fishy websites (Irregular Times, Setopati, The Halkoriya Times, who spell their own name wrong, and Buddha Boy Media) seem to be dedicated-haters trolling Buddha Boy to defame him and take the con view as we take the pro view. But it is good to take in all honest views.

Amid the raging debate over cow slaughter and consumption of beef, a sadhvi [female-sadhu or ascetic] attending a meet of various Hindu outfits here has said those who consider eating beef as a status symbol should be hanged [in public as a negative example to others].

The remarks made by Sadhvi Saraswati here last evening triggered a sharp reaction from the Congress, which said her speech would spark communal hatred [because minority Muslims and Christians kill and eat a lot of beef] and asked the BJP-led government in Goa to lodge an FIR against her.

Passion for cow-kindness leads to hyperbole?

Sadhvi Saraswati, president of Sanatan Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti of Chhindwada in Madhya Pradesh, also wanted the Hindus to keep arms in their homes to protect themselves:

"If we do not stock arms, we will be destroyed in future," she said.

"Today Bharat [India] is under attack from all directions. Efforts are being made to separate Kashmir from Bharat and also stop the Amarnath pilgrimage. Bharatmata-Gaumata [Goddess "India Mother-Cow Mother"] are being censured," she said.

World-weary beauty and junior Hindu saint

Slamming the demand by some political parties to ban the outfits calling for the creation of the "Hindu Rāshtra," she said they should realize that no power in the country can prevent Hindus from establishing the "Hindu Nation" [in addition to the one India established in Nepal].

She said, "There is no such thing as saffron terrorism," adding that: "Saffron means dedicated life for the nation and dharma."
