The Full Hunter's Moon (Uposatha)

The Moon is inside our atmosphere, which is much larger than we're told  (USSR).
.
Triple Moon headband with pentagram of Man
Culturally and spiritually significant across many societies, full moons are associated with festivals such as Buddhist Vesak (~May) and various Hindu purnima observances (such as the Buddha's Birthday). The "fasting day" or Uposatha is also of tremendous importance to the Buddha and Theravada Buddhism.

Many traditions have named specific full moons—like the harvest moon or hunter's moon—and linked them to seasonal and agricultural events.

Folklore has associated full moons with madness, supernatural events, and insomnia, though scientific studies have so far found inconsistent evidence of behavioral effects on anything but the tides.
  • Eric Dubay stands by his position that the tides are NOT related to the moon for the simple fact of lunar distance having absolutely no effect on massive bodies of freshwater like lakes and mighty rivers (Ganges, Mississippi, Nile, Amazon, Yangtze, Saraswati); however, could this be because salt plays a role in their electromagnetic pull?
In modern times, terms like “blood moon” and “blue moon” have entered popular use, often referring to lunar eclipses or rare lunar events....

In folklore and tradition
The Moonship tilts and lists, glows and fades.
In Buddhism, Vesak (Wesak) is celebrated on the full moon day of the ancient Indian month of Vaisakha, marking the birth, great enlightenment, and final nirvana of the historical Buddha [11].

In Arabic, badr (بدر ) means "full moon," but it is often translated as "white moon," referring to The White Days, the three days when the full moon is celebrated.

Moonstruck is not necessarily lunacy.
Full moons are traditionally associated with insanity (lunacy and lunatic), various supernatural or "magical phenomena" such as clinical lycanthropy (turning into a werewolf or hirsute dogman), and insomnia (the persistent inability to sleep).

Psychologists, however, have found evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon, but it tends to be weak [12] except for sensitives, who may be driven over the edge (as seen in asylums and emergency rooms across the country).

Scientists find that their poorly designed studies are generally inconsistent, with some showing a positive effect and others showing a negative effect. In one instance, the Dec. 23, 2000, issue of the British Medical Journal published two studies... More

So what's the big deal? Why does the Moon matter so much. To explain that we have the Saga of Vanity Lycan coming up in Part 2: Who cares about the Moon? Vanity does

Buddhist Sabbath: Full Buck Moon

What is the Buck Moon? Biggest, farthest, orangest full moon

The Buddhist Sabbath Day: Uposatha

What's the big deal? There's sila, dana, samadhi
The Uposatha day is a Buddhist day of observance, in existence since the Buddha's time (600 BCE) and still being kept today by sincere practitioners of Buddhism [1, 2]. The Buddha taught that the Uposatha day is for "the cleansing of the defiled mind (heart)," resulting in inner calm and joy [3]. On this day, both lay and ordained members of the Sangha (spiritual community) intensify their practice, deepen their knowledge of the practice, and express communal commitment through millennia-old acts of lay-monastic reciprocity. On these days, Buddhist lay followers make a conscious effort to keep the Eight Precepts or, as the tradition suggests, the Ten Precepts (or keeping perfectly the everyday Five Precepts). It is a day for putting into intensive practice the Buddha's teachings and meditation. More

Trump's rollercoaster market: down, up

Don't get 'yippy,' stop trying to go through walls, be flexible says Trump before reversing himself

Trump Suddenly pauses his tariffs, White House spin in full effect, quizzing MAGA fans in Florida
(Jimmy Kimmel Live) April 9, 2025: After watching Trump gamble our life savings this week he paused almost all of those big beautiful tariffs he levied, Uncle Scam offered words of reassurance to the millions of Americans whose retirement funds he exploded, Team Trump is out of in full force praising his decision, the real reason for his backing off of the Tariffs is likely because his approval rating is lower than ever, he spoke at the National Republican Committee Dinner last night, lots of Trump brand items are made in China, he apparently has no vested interest in Russia, the Department of Justice is eliminating the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team, and we sent a team to the Gulf of America in Florida to ask some of Trump’s bigliest fans what they think about the Department of Education.

Lunar eclipse of full Harvest Moon (live)

Rahu in Buddhist Thailand
The cause of a lunar eclipses would not seem to be this planet of plane but another celestial body. Let's see, who else could be out there? (Scientists discover mysterious structures hidden in our solar system).
Miss Venus, Mr. Mars, Pluto Jr., another Ms. Luna (Earth's new 'mini-moon' will orbit our planet for the next 2 moonths), the Twelfth Planet Nibiru? (Twelfth? One or more was obliterated in a collision that led to the Khyber Belt debris field, according to Zecharia Sitchin). There's another body that gets even less respect than Pluto, and that rascal RAHU, downgraded from planet to a "node." A node? But it is this celestial body that is credited with earth's eclipses, lunar and solar, in Buddhist, Vedic/Hindu, and Jain cosmologies.
Tonight's lunar eclipse is only partial, so Rahu will only take a chunk out of Soma then release.

Tom Brady is a big fan of Jaggi Sadhguru
The ancient Vedas ("Knowledge Books" of India) have much to tell us, particularly the Ayurveda on the topic of health (important in yoga). Here modern Hindu showman Sadhguru ("true guru") claims that in two hours under the eclipse things like food, which is our body post-consumption, will age and rot. So it is better to fast today, not to eat, to bathe away negativity, and never to watch the eclipse directly as so many space-loving Americans are fond of doing. Everyone in India knows to go indoors and be away from the shadow of the eclipses. It is not just Sadhguru warning people. Of course, his method of "dowsing" with (mala beads or any pendulum like device the hand can unconsciously twitch to move in one direction or another, which is good for divining what the mind knows subconsciously better than what is present objectively) the food for the presence of deterioration, aging, fermenting, rotting, and putrefying is a little suspect. But the claim is that this is subtle and therefore it would be hard to substantiate the claim otherwise. Of course, one imagines the food should spoil, rot, grow fungus and black mats of bacteria in two to three hours if it were the case that the body/food are aging 28 days in just the two to three hours of the eclipse. But be that as it may, we are forewarned and can take the appropriate steps if we wish. It is ancient Vedic knowledge. The Buddha did not accept the Vedas nor regard them as ultimate authorities on spirituality, but that is not to say that they are not valuable sacred scriptures. Many truths must be found within their pages, many things the Brahmins memorizing and chanting in Sanskrit thought worthy of preserving from the heavens (akasha loka) from which they were handed down or composed by seers (rishis) capable of discerning subtle truths our world is usually blind to.

Happy Friday the 13th (California chills)

Out on a Moonlight Walk, Little Red Riding Hood? How convenient, no Door Dash fee.
.
13 is bad. Be afraid! 666, bich!
Thirteen is scary. Friday (party night!) is scarier. Combine them and holy F. Festivities could get spooky. It's not that we suffer from triskaideka-phobia ("fearing and avoiding the number thirteen").

This phobia is one of the reasons we FEAR Friday the 13th (para-skevidekatria-phobia or frigga-triskaideka-phobia, from the Old Norse Goddess Frigg, whose day is Friday).
12 apostles + 1 leader = 13
In 1910 Isador Coriat mentioned it in Abnormal Psychology, according to Wiki. The supposed unlucky nature of the number 13 -- which we were made to fear by the Church as it defamed our beautiful Moon, Earth's calendar with its 13 lunations or repeating phases, swapping it out with the solar Gregorian calendar, moving lunar calendars to lunisolar systems).
Oh, Goddess Soma (Moon), forgive us.
Imagine a time when things made sense for the ancients. Our Moon Moon (Sin, Nanna, Soma, Chandra, Luna) was a calendar in the sky, the seasons came and went, the sun did its thing (going around in a halo, not over us, as depicted in ancient Buddhist, Jain, Hindu, Vedic cosmology, and the modern realization of hated genius Eric Dubay), the stars seemed to wander yet magically keep their positions as Earth, we are now told, spun at 1,000 MPH and wobbled and wiggled all through open space, while expanding with everything else). Hogwash. Here we are on a platform with things moving above us. The Moon and 13 are key, so to keep that from us, we must fear them.

Give us the Sun! We want the return of the Sun! We'll convert to Astrotheology and do whatever the Church says! Just bring back the Son with all your priests and their cult magic.

Time to break out the Edgar Allen Poe poetry.
Several authors claim fear of 13 is an older belief but have yet to produce evidence to document the claim. In fact, the earliest attestation of 13 being unlucky is found after the Middle Ages in Europe. So enjoy a dose of triskaidekaphobia until what we've lost becomes clear. This is the first FTT of the year after all. There will be one more (12/13/24) closer to Xmas.

California was overheating; now it's chilly.
Can't wait? Move to Dictator Maduro's new Venezuela, where he declared Oct. 1st as "Early Christmas" three months ahead of time in a bid to deflect criticism for taking over and the economy being bad. But imagine three extra months of the holiday season! That ought to cheer everyone up for smiley face authoritarianism rather than Orwellian truncheons and 1984 imagery.

Girl fight: AOC v Greene, Congress catfight

BREAKING NEWS: All hell breaks loose when Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene directly insults Black Jasmine Crockett
(Forbes Breaking News) May 16, 2024: At tonight's House Oversight Committee hearing, [white] Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) insult of [Black] Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) plunged the hearing into chaos, particularly when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) jumped in and took sides against Greene. Then Crockett got in the best line of the night, openly mocking Greene in the form of a hypothetical question about badly bleached blond hair and a butch body. Ehem, Marjorie? Sadly, the old white men in charge did not understand the question.

MAGA Reps. Gaetz and Boebert get heckled at the Trump circus trial

Girls used to be so classy. Now it's all petty ego.
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, evening, a House Oversight Committee hearing intended to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt quickly devolved into a heated and disorderly exchange between Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The session was initially convened to address Garland's refusal to comply with a subpoena for an audio recording of Pres/ Biden's interview with a special counsel. However, tensions flared when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a derogatory comment about Rep. Jasmine Crockett's appearance, prompting an intense response from [AOC] Rep. Ocasio-Cortez [who got all Puerto Rican or Cuban and New Yorker with a kind of, Oh no you diddent, aw hell no you diddent kind of vibe, made worse by the addition of "baby girl."

During the hearing, Greene interrupted Crockett with a personal attack, stating, "I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading."

This remark led to audible groans in the chamber and a plea for order from Committee Chairman James Comer.

Ocasio-Cortez immediately called for Greene's words to be "taken down," a procedural move allowing the speaker to withdraw or amend the words if deemed inappropriate.

I'm from New York. I eat Greenes for lunch.
Greene's retort, "Are your feelings hurt?" was met with Ocasio-Cortez's sharp response, "Oh girl, baby girl! Don’t even play!"

Ocasio-Cortez insisted that Greene's comments were unacceptable and demanded a sincere apology to Rep. Crockett, rejecting any insincere or smarmy apologies.

Despite the heated back-and-forth, Greene eventually agreed to strike her words but refused to apologize, further insulting Ocasio-Cortez's intelligence.

You want some, B*tch? - Are you talkin to me?
The situation escalated when Rep. Jamie Raskin asked Greene again if she would apologize, to which she defiantly replied, "You will never get an apology out of me."

The contentious exchange highlighted deep divisions and personal animosities among committee members, drawing significant attention and criticism.

Rep. Crockett later expressed her frustration on social media, emphasizing the inappropriate and chaotic behavior displayed by some members of Congress.

The Sky's Gone Out: Solar Eclipse 2023 (live)

Griffith Park Observatory; Bauhaus "Silent Hedges"; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly

The partial solar eclipse of Los Angeles | Oct. 14th | Griffith Observatory
Griffith Park Observatory, Hollywood, LA
(Griffith Observatory) This live viewing is scheduled for Oct. 14: Griffith Observatory is hosting a live online broadcast for the partial eclipse of the sun in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 14, from 8:00-11:00 am, PDT.

The eclipse begins precisely at 8:08 am, reaches its maximum at 9:24 am, and ends at 10:50 am IF the soothsayers with their calculators have gotten it right.

As seen from Earth, a solar eclipse occurs when [Rahu devours Surya the Sun and only releases it by a petitionary prayer or incantation, according to Buddhist cosmology, which is ignored by science that stands by its cockamamie story that] the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth and fully or partially blocks the Sun.

Thousands will overtake the Observatory for this
[Cockamamie? Yes: The sun ALWAYS rises in the east (New York). We (Los Angeles) are in the west. Therefore, the sun orbits over us coming this way to set in the Pacific Ocean. How then, at 8:00 in the morning on a Saturday, will it already be here over the Pacific Northwest, starting in Oregon and then moves, not east to west but northwest to southeast? The viewing line for the full solar eclipse, like the last one that started over Oregon and went southeast to Florida and beyond, is only so wide. By the properties of light, a shadow cannot be cast with a width any shorter than the object casting it. Try it. Hold a light (mimicking the sun) close to an object, like the hand or ball, and measure the shadow. Either it will be as wide as the hand or ball (depending how close to the surface it is) or it will be bigger, never narrower. So how would a 2,000-mile-wide globe (our Moon) ever cast a shadow that is only 50 miles wide (the width of the full, not partial, eclipse)? We imagine that the Sun, being so far away, narrows the width of the shadow in drawings. But that never happens in reality. It's a fact about light. So the Rahu Theory starts to be more convincing. Also, look for the Moon in the morning. If visible at all, it'll be nowhere near the Sun, approaching it to begin eclipsing it. Since when does the Moon ever jump to get somewhere else at a scheduled time. We've seen it hold still in the night or appear roughly in the same spot night after night for a few days. But otherwise it comes there an hour or so later, or it does something completely new and out of view.]

In a partial eclipse, the Moon and Sun are not exactly in line, and only a portion of the Sun’s disc is blocked.

In Los Angeles on October 14, 2023, the Moon will cover 78 percent of the Sun’s diameter and 71 percent of the Sun’s area.

The next partial solar eclipse visible in Los Angeles will occur on April 8, 2024.

If viewing a solar eclipse in person, proper eye protection is ESSENTIAL to shield the eyes from dangerous and blinding solar radiation.

NOTE: While those in Los Angeles will see a partial solar eclipse, an annular solar eclipse will be visible in a swath across the U.S. from the Oregon coast to Texas.

An annular eclipse is when the Moon covers the face of the Sun, but the outer edge of the Sun’s disk is still visible and appears as a single ring of light.

It is unsafe to view an annular eclipse without proper eye protection.

The MOON is acting strangely, isn't it?

BMW5058 (Reddit, Mandela Effect Group 2016); Pat Macpherson, DS (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Harvest moon, orange due to greater Rayleigh scattering close to horizon (Roadcrusher/Wiki)
.
Moon, Venus, Pleiades (Dennis Schoenfelder, CO earthsky.org)
I am just an average person and only know basic things about the moon that I have learned in school or have seen on TV....

I work outside and love watching the sky. I also go outside every night and observe. I have been noticing the moon acting very different from what I remember. The moon usually follows a predictable path across the sky above my yard. It is usually located in a couple different areas. I can usually find it pretty quickly because of this.

After watching it for many years, I notice its usual locations. However, for the last year or so I have noticed the moon winding up in different areas and following a different path. It seems out of rhythm or something. It is like there is no rhyme or reason for where it is located every night.

Also, I have noticed the moon is out all day a lot more. I remember being able to see it during the day every once in a while, but now there are periods where it is out all day for many days in a row. I know it’s out all day because I work outside and see it from 7:00 am to the night for many days in a row. I don’t remember it being out all day as often as it has been in the last year or so.

Lunar phases do not predict position in the sky?
Not only does the moon seem closer and more clear to the naked eye, but I feel the shadows on the moon are different. I swear I remember the shadows looking like the side view of a human head when I was younger. I thought that was why they said there was a "man in the moon."

One could see the shadow that looked like a man’s head from the side. One could see the nose and lips. Now, the shadows are different. I don’t see the head anymore, and I only see the bunny ear shadows....

The reason I have felt the need to bring up the moon is because I have not seen the moon in almost two weeks, which is strange. I have never noticed the moon not being visible from my yard for this long.

I know there are nights we don’t see the moon because of where it is in its orbit or it being a new moon, but it’s usually not for this long. The moon could be below the tree line in my yard, which is possible but not normal. I’m not saying the moon vanished, just that it has not been visible from my yard, which is strange.

The moon has been off to me, and I don’t know if I am losing my mind or something is going on. I’m wondering if anyone else is noticing anything strange about the moon. More

Comments
Be a space archeologist or astronomer (TED).
(Lobster_conspiracy) Have you actually measured and recorded (written down) your observations? Saying that you remember the moon being like this or like that is not worth anything. Whenever you have the opportunity to view the moon, record the time, the compass-direction of the moon, the estimated angle in the sky, the phase, the size, and anything else you notice. (Much of this can done easily with a GPS/compass equipped camera found in any modern smartphone). This is the basis of the scientific method.

(Fexmeif) The moon is out during the day, all day, for about a quarter of the time, it has always been like that. We have the misconception that the moon shows up at night, but that's only because during the day it's not as visible. (Because of the Sun itself and because it's on the "new moon" phase).

What our MOON really is (video)

Interview with investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe (earthfiles.com) via UAMN TV, March 22, 2019; Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

The Moon is an intelligent machine
Linda Moulton Howe (earthfiles.com) explains how the moon is not what we think it is. It is a computer like machine that watches, observes and monitors Earth. What happened to Neil Armstrong, the "first man on the moon," while he was up there? What did he see? What changed him during the mission? Was he warned never to talk about the alien presence in the solar system? Howe explains that there is life on the moon, the solar system, and throughout the universe.

Moon now inside Earth's atmosphere: science

The moon is NOW inside Earth's atmosphere?
