Savior of Christianity: biblical Marcion

Marcion of Sinope (Ancient Greek  Μαρκίων [2 Note 1] Σινώπης) lived circa 85–circ 160 [3]. He compiled the first New Testament Bible and was a theologian [4] in early Christianity [4, 5].

Marcion preached that God had sent Jesus, the Nazarene and Christ ("Anointed One"), who was distinct from the "vengeful" God Yahweh (the Demiurge) who had created the world [4, 5, 6] as a trap to enslave other beings.

Marcion considered himself a follower of Paul (Saul) the Apostle, whom he believed to have been the only true apostle of Jesus Christ.

His teaching or doctrine is now called Marcionism [4, 5, 7]. Marcion published the earliest record of a canon of New Testament books [4, 8] or what the Christian world regards as the Bible, exclusive of Jewish Old Testament Hebrew "Bible" (Tanakh), five books of which form the Torah, and Talmud (official interpretation).
