Go Topless Day always falls at the Sunday closest to Women's Equality Day, which is today, August 26th.
On August 26, 1920 women finally won the right
to vote on the basis of gender equality. In 1971, the U.S. Congress
gave the day national recognition naming it "Women's
Equality Day."
The U.S. president or POTUS is summoned to
commemorate this day every year.
So it is logical that Go Topless Day demonstration, which are celebrations
depending on their legal status in various cities across the nation, would fall close to Women's
Equality Day.
