We must do better. And stop the hate (AP).
A record 3.3 million [now 17 million+] workers have applied for unemployment insurance. Meanwhile, we are told a new coronavirus (COVID-19) sweeps across the nation leaving an economic and health crisis in its wake.

These people are facing the prospects of mounting debt or outright eviction from the very homes that are keeping them safe in this time of physical distancing.

With the virus crisis, many of us are stuck between staying healthy or staying housed. With the loss of our incomes, we may not be able to make rent on April 1 or May 1. We’re envisioning a future beyond recovery and calling out to our elected officials to #CancelRent #CancelMortgages and guarantee #HomesForAll!

Hand guns, desperation, cratering the economy by a police state scare...

The world rises up. Police states clamp down.
"Rent parties" have deep roots in the black struggle for freedom, self-determination, and mutual aid. We're bringing back this 100-year-old tradition to demand a just response to coronavirus.

Join the 10 consecutive days of the #CancelRent Festival. The first performance was on Sunday, March 29, 2020 kicked off with Grammy-nominated artist Aloe Blacc.

Rents were already too high in L.A. and SoCal
Come back at 9:00 pm ET/6:00 pm PT every day and tune in early on weekends at 5:00 pm ET/2:00 pm PT for bonus shows, where talented and notable acts will raise our demands while we dance.

Our homes, health, collective safety, and futures are on the line. Millions of us don’t know how we are going to pay our rent, mortgage, or utilities. Yet landlords and banks are expecting payment as if it were business as usual. It’s not.

Join millions to fight for a future free of debt and to win a national suspension on rent, mortgage, and utility payments. More
