Astrology of 2024 US total solar eclipse

What can the stars tell us about life on Earth?
Yasmin Boland is an award-winning astrologer and The Sunday Times best-selling Hay House author of the books Astrology Made Easy and Moonology, and the creator of Moonology oracle cards -- possibly the best-selling oracle deck in the world.

She appeared on Coast to Coast AM with Host Lisa Garr (theawareshow.com) to discuss this moonth's Moon-day's April 8th, 2024, solar eclipse and how to use the eclipse in manifestation (Law of Attraction, Law of Vibration, Law of Manifestation).

Boland explains the phenomenon of eclipses, pointing out that there are typically at least four eclipses every year, which occur in pairs and occasionally even in threes in a single season.

According to Boland, eclipses serve as significant moments of change. Moonday's eclipse is particularly notable as it will be visible across parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

There's a 13th sign people ignore:
Boland emphasized the significance of this eclipse taking place in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, signaling the start of a new cycle.

Eclipses in Aries mark the beginning of a new 19-year cycle and often prompt individuals to reflect on their goals and intentions for the future, she says.

Boland stresses the importance of releasing negativity before setting intentions during this potent time, likening the process to tuning a radio into a desired station to ensure clear transmission of desires or wishes to the universe.

On this show, Boland also shares her personal journey into astrology, recounting how a chance encounter with astrology books led her to pursue a career in the field.

Meditation is key
I'll get ahead of this eclipse and manifest.
She highlights the transformative power of meditation in shaping her path and describes her decision to embrace astrology despite initial doubts of it being woo-woo nonsense.

Boland reflects on the symbolism of the eclipse's dark phase, emphasizing its significance as a time for release and renewal.

She encourages listeners to let go of past burdens and set intentions for the future regardless of their reasonable disbelief in astrology [which many say is woo-woo nonsense], as it can lead to positive transformations in their lives. More + AUDIO (April 6, 2024)

Black spirituality at WoManifesting (video)

Guest Abiola Abrams (womanifesting.com), Host Lisa Garr (The Aware Show, 1/17/24); Ashley Wells, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
We should manifest our best life -- rich, happy, and prospering for everyone around us!

My website is full of videos to watch, gifts, and things to do right now to start living!

The world is made for pleasure
Today Wisdom Quarterly's beloved and ever so slightly brain damaged friend Lisa Garr (host of Aware with Lisa Garr (theawareshow.com) on Pacifica Free Speech Radio at KPFK.org, co-host of Coast to Coast, host of Gaia's Inspirations with Lisa Garr) had on Abiola Abrams, African goddess priestess (womanifesting.com), sharing a Law of Attraction message of self-esteem building, empowerment, and manifestation of dreams. Is this the way to riches and fulfillment? Whether it is or isn't, it sure sells. I believe in myself. So I'll listen to the Goddess Temple Podcast to believe in Abiola. Why? Lisa said so.

The Simpsons: "Lisa Becomes a Buddhist (clip) (Cartoon Guy), posted March 23, 2017: The Simpsons, "She of Little Faith," Season 13, Episode 6.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch
You really are a heel
You're as cuddly as a cactus
And as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch

You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel
Just face the music you're a monster, Mr. Grinch
Your heart's an empty hole
Your brain is full of spiders

You've got garlic in your soul, Mr. Grinch
I wouldn't touch you with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole
You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch
You've got termites in your smile

You have all the tender sweetness
of a seasick crocodile, Mr. Grinch
Well given the choice between the two of you
I would take the seasick crocodile

You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch
You're a nasty wasty skunk
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
And your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch

The three best words I would
Use to describe you are
as follows and I quote:
Stink! Stank! Stunk!

Me 'n My Buddha: Our Search for Liberation

Simpsons; Harry Nilsson "Me and My Arrow"; Amber Larson, Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly

The Simpsons: Lisa's path to Buddhism
Richard Gere, are you peeking?
(Manda Flax) The famous American TV show The Simpsons, which has run longer and more successfully than any other, except maybe Survivor, once had an episode called "My Way or the Highway to Heaven." It was Season 30, Episode 3, and here's a clip. Lisa was already a Buddhist from way back, even before Bart went Zen.

My Way or the Highway to Heaven (plot)
In heaven, God and St. Peter are visited by the Buddha, who encourages them to open heaven to other religions.

Back on earth, in Sunday School, Lisa tells her class that besides redemption and good works (wholesome karma), there is The Bodhisattva's Way of Enlightenment. She then shares a story she calls “The Princess not affiliated with Disney, unless we are now owned by Disney.”

In Lumbini, outside the Shakya Kingdom during the 6th century BCE, a spoiled princess Siddmartha (a female version of Buddhism's founder Siddhārtha) remained dissatisfied despite having it all. She sought a Middle Way between extreme austerities and decadence.

Carl, shouldn't we be chanting? - Yes, Lenny.
She ventured out of the palace disguised as a poor boy. In search of scholars she goes to Kathmandu U. but frustratingly finds the university a party school.

Being void of ideas, she opts instead to sit under a Bodhi Tree until she awakens enlightened.

Meanwhile, back in heaven, St. Peter notices that Lisa is a good person, a good Buddhist, and God agrees that “all the good souls are welcome.”

Lisa should do yoga, too. Right, Homer? - Huh, what, Marge?

Buddhist prayer to heal emotional pain (video)

Author Gregg Braden (greggbraden.com); Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Gregg Braden is a great researcher. Long ago, he came on The Aware Show with host Lisa Garr to talk about his breakthrough Judeo-Christian discovery he made while going around the world in search of something -- a lost form of prayer he dubbed "the Isaiah Effect."

It is thanking and feeling grateful in the body for a thing as if it is already manifested and present. This brings it into being (by what we now call the Law of Attraction or The Secret because of the maxim, "Nature abhors a vacuum").
C2C Host Lisa Garr
He didn't stop there. Like Dr. Bruce Lipton, Braden has made breakthrough after breakthrough with every adventure and book.

In his newest audiobook, he reveals another great discovery: a Buddhist prayer to heal emotional pain.

The Wisdom Codes is an audiobook that covers the power of one such "wisdom code" that in voicing the deep truth of our loss, we are acknowledging our inner pain. And it's precisely this acknowledgement that frees us from being stuck in our emotions while we awaken our healing. More

Hidden Codes of Ancient Wisdom and the Sacred Prayer for Protection
(Gregg Braden Official) The Wisdom Codes delves into the world's timeless texts, gathering the powerful words we've always turned to in times of need. When life brings danger, doubt, hurt, or loss to our doorstep, these words provide reassurance, protection, and healing. In this video, Gregg Braden offers a brief introduction to the prayer for personal protection.

Lisa Simpson Buddhist for X-mas (Dec. 26)

The Simpsons; Ananda (Dharma Meditation), Dhr. Seven, Ellie Askew (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
(MonkeySaki) Lisa Simpson opens her third eye (ajna chakra) in meditation.

The Five Mental Hindrances and Their Conquest:
Selected Texts from the Pali Canon and the Commentaries compiled and translated by Ven. Nyanaponika Thera
Unshakable deliverance of mind -- nirvana -- is the highest goal in the Buddha's Teaching. Here, deliverance means the freeing of the mind from all limitations, fetters, and bonds that tie it to the Wheel of Suffering and the Cycle of Rebirth.

It means the cleansing of the mind of all defilements that mar its purity, the removing of all obstacles that bar its progress from mundane (lokiya) to supramundane consciousness (lokuttara-citta), that is, to full enlightenment or awakening.

Many are the obstacles that block the road to spiritual progress. But there are FIVE in particular that, under the name of the Five Hindrances (nivarana), are often mentioned in the Buddhist texts:
  1. Sensual desire (kamacchanda)
  2. Ill-will (byapada)
  3. Sleepiness and laziness (thina-middha)
  4. Restlessness and remorse (uddhacca-kukkucca)
  5. Skeptical doubt (vicikiccha).
Lenny, Carl, that's not the Buddha. That's Putai.
They are called "hindrances" because they hinder and envelop the mind (and heart) in many ways, obstructing its development (bhavana). According to Buddhism, spiritual development is twofold.

Kagyu Samye Ling (dunehypnotherapy.co.uk)
It comes about through tranquillity (samatha-bhavana) and through insight (vipassana-bhavana). Tranquillity is gained by complete serene-concentration of the mind during the meditative absorptions (jhanas).

For achieving these absorptions, the overcoming of the Five Hindrances, at least temporarily, is a preliminary condition. It is especially in the context of achieving the absorptions that the Buddha often mentions the Five Hindrances in sutras or discourses. More

Have a very Buddhist Christmas! (cartoons)

The Simpsons; Wilson Hurley (VOA News); Ajahn Brahm (Buddhist Society of Western Australia); Family Guy; Rebeca Castella; Amber Larson, Crsytal Quintero, CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

The historical Buddha, Sid Gautama, is different than the Fat Happy Budai, a Chinese monk and bodhisattva who was fat, jolly, and carried a sack of candy to give out to children.

Christmas -- the Buddhist Way
It has long been true that Xmas is not just for Christians any more. Many people of many different religious persuasions or of no persuasion at all celebrate the day and the Yule season. Suli Yi of VOA's Mandarin Service has this story about the meaning of Xmas for followers of Buddhism in the Washington area. It is narrated by Brian Allen.

Merry Buddhamas! with Ajahn Brahm

Responding to an online request, British Ajahn Brahm talks about celebrating "Buddhamas" on the 25th of December. He and the other Western monks in Thailand once asked the famous Ajahn Chah about Christmas. "Christmas, what's that?" he answered. They explained, and he liked it, and thereafter they all celebrated "Buddhamas." Ajahn Brahm discusses that the whole idea of spirituality is not to divide the world but to unite it. More: "Peace at Christmas Time" (Buddhist Society of Western Australia, Dec. 2015).

Humor the "Family Guy" way
USA sent US Treasury Sec'y Steve Mnuchin his gift on time: a box full of manure

.
Whether ya think ya can or can't, you're right
(Watch Mojo) Sick! These "jokes" cross the line! Family Guy has gone too far. It's all pretty bad, but these are worse. These are the Top 10 that go too far in assaulting our US sense of uptightness and Puritanism. There's an appearance by Jesus who becomes a super star, Herbert the Pervert, Brian eating Stewie's poop, and the all-American family makes us all look bad by airing our real dirty laundry. Now the whole world knows we're hypocrites and phonies.

VAXXED: How vaccines cause autism (audio)

Vaccine and Autism Truth Exposed
Dr. Andrew WakefieldDr. Andrew Wakefield MD, a highly acclaimed gastroenterologist who publicly disclosed the link between the MMR vaccine and autism in 1998, is the co-founder and director of the AutismMediaChannel.com. He publicly advocates for safe vaccines, which are possible, and campaigns for the rights of the skyrocketing number of families with vaccine-injured children ignored by the pharmaceutical companies making billions on selling unnecessary vaccinations for kids and others.

Del BigtreeThere has long been a suspicion that there is a causal link between certain vaccines and autism. Now there's proof that the CDC intentionally omitted crucial data in their final report on the relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism.

That proof -- revealed by a CDC whistleblower -- is finally being exposed. Film producer Del Bigtree and medical doctor and director Andrew Wakefield made the new documentary, "Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe." Lisa Garr gets the details from Dr. Wakefield and Del Bigtree in this eye-opening interview. More

(The Health Ranger) VAXXED: ABC News interview Big Pharma fears

Del Bigtree is the producer of the controversial documentary "Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe," directed by Dr. Wakefield. Bigtree was an Emmy Award-winning producer of the daytime talk show "The Doctors" for six years. Del has a background as a filmmaker and investigative medical journalist.

There has long been a suspicion that there is a link between vaccines and autism.  And now there's proof that the CDC intentionally omitted crucial data in their final report on the relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism. That proof is finally being exposed -- with little thanks to Robert DeNiro and Tribeca, who caved in under pressure to ban the film.
