Benedict Canyon Retreat House, Beverly Hills
This event is the in-person version of a hybrid retreat which will take place both in-person and online. To register for the online version of this event, click here.

To see clearly is to see things as they truly are, absent of our distortions, judgments, and stories. When we see clearly, we shed negativity and stress and live more freely.

Join Senior InsightLA Teacher Melissa McKay for a non-residential weekend insight meditation (vipassana) retreat.

Cultivate tranquility and clear inner seeing by spending time in silence, alternating between periods of sitting and walking meditation.

About Vipassana
Can I be mindful of chocolate for insight?
Vipassana
is an ancient, transformative Buddhist meditation technique. Through self-observation, deep insight arises. In Vipassana, we focus attention on the body and mind, observing sensations and the movement of energy as it arises only to dissipate again.

Among the many benefits of Vipassana is the cultivation of inner peace and clarity. To see clearly is to see things, most importantly ourselves, as they truly are.

Who is this retreat for?
This weekend retreat is for anyone who is ready to deepen their meditation practice and live with greater lucidity and therefore with greater ease.

Suitable for all levels, this non-residential weekend experience is a good opportunity for those who would like to learn more about intensive retreat practice.

Where is it?
This event takes place in-person at the Benedict Canyon Retreat House, Beverly Hill and online via Zoom. Find directions, information on what to bring, and more at this link. As a non-residential retreat, participants will return home Friday and Saturday evening.

Vatican child porn scandal: Monsignor Capella

We have immunity! Tell them, Francis! Vatican, Inc. is the Holy See, our own country.

Who are you to judge? - What's that, Don?
This scandal is the latest blow to the Catholic Church [the Vatican Inc. is a vast Mithra worship complex in the center of the capital of the Roman Empire now dedicated to Jesus worship and called the Holy See] as it struggles to overcome repeated sex abuse cases among its celibate, non-homosexual clergy.

Pope Francis [who is alleged to have recently claimed that "hell does not exist"] has declared "zero tolerance" over abuse scandals that have beset the Church for decades.

You talked to Dad? - Yeah, who am I to judge?
But critics say he has not done enough, particularly to hold bishops responsible for mishandling or covering up child sexual abuse.

The US State Department notified the Holy See in August of a possible violation of laws relating to child pornography images by a member of the diplomatic corps of the Holy See accredited to Washington, the Vatican said in September.

Silent No More! Stop child sex abuse!
The Vatican said on Saturday its police had arrested a Monsignor Carlo Alberto Capella, who worked as a diplomat at its embassy in Washington and is suspected of possessing child pornography in the United States and Canada.

The United States had requested that the man's diplomatic immunity be waived to open the way for possible prosecution there. But the Vatican refused. More

Pope changes his mind: There is a HELL

Slayer, "Hell Awaits"; Nat'l Public Radio (Two Way, npr.org); Editors, Wisdom Quarterly
Beloved Latino Pope Francis of Argentina celebrates the Chrism Mass at St. Peter's Basilica on Holy Thursday in Vatican City (Alessandra Benedetti/Corbis/Getty Images)

Devil and Church together again?
Things got a little heated at the Vatican this week when an Italian journalist reported that Pope Francis denied the existence of hell.

Apparently, the fiery 93-year-old avowed atheist reporter, Eugenio Scalfari of La Repubblica, set the social media world aflame after writing in Italian that when asked about the fate of "bad souls," the pontiff responded, "Hell does not exist."
  • [NOTE: He would not be the first pope to deny the existence of hell for "we-want-to-be-more-popular Roman Catholicism: the previous pope, not the Nazi Pope Benedict, but the good and beloved Pope John Paul II said the same thing, redefining "hell" as the more palatable just any kind of "separation from hell" but not all the fire and brimstone stuff. The reason for the reassessment seems to be a bid to gain many, many millions more adherents no matter what the tenets of the religion actually are. Ask a old school Catholic, and s/he will say, "Of course there's a hell!" and be dumbfounded to read the infallible pope's writing on the subject as there now not being one. And nice guy Pope Francis, former longtime henchman for bad Pope Benedict, was now admitting the same thing. Whether or not there's a hell, Catholicism certainly believes there is. Catholics, on the other hand, probably mostly don't believe but certainly fear it, and it will take generations to clear the fear from their consciousness, yet another reason why there are so many "recovering Catholics." Catholicism is the make believe religion of colonial-hegemonic empire, Emperor Constantine's way of trying to rule an empire by cherry picking Christian teachings and tossing out all of the inconvenient stuff. The wannabe "universal" religion, like the Protestant Christianity that came after it, originated as a Roman psy-op, as was widely reported a few years back. Catholicism and Christianity are the great appropriators of many other religions, taking all of the their beliefs from Mithraism, Zorastrianism, Judaism, Hinduism/Mahayana Buddhism, and the many paganisms of the now Christian world. (See, e.g., the work of Archaya S).]
Tell them there's no hell, Papa. - But our guy says there is. - Change this book! - O.K.
.
Co-Pope Benedict, former Nazi Youth
The pope continued, according to Scalfari, saying (emphasis added), "The disappearance of sinful souls exists."

The statements spurred Catholics and other believers to grab their virtual pitchforks to express their fury, which the Vatican has since tried to cool.

The Vatican adamantly rejected Scalfari's characterization of the conversation, which it insisted was not an official interview but rather a "private meeting."

On Friday -- Good Friday -- the Vatican issued a statement saying:
"What is reported by the author in today's article is the fruit of his reconstruction, in which the precise words uttered by the Pope are not cited. No quotations in the aforementioned article, then, should be considered as a faithful transcription of the words of the Holy Father." More

(Therearenosunglasses) Was Jesus Christ an anti-Jewish Roman [Flavian Family] PsyOp?

Jesus is American and Republican.
Biblical scholars at the “Covert Messiah” Conference at Conway Hall in London on October 19th presented a controversial discovery to the British public: “[Jesus Christ] may be the only fictional character in literature whose entire life story can be traced to other sources.”

American Biblical scholar Joseph Atwill appeared with them to present a controversial new discovery:

I will be your new God. Forget the others.
Ancient confessions recently uncovered now prove that the New Testament was written by first-century Roman aristocrats and that they fabricated the entire story of Jesus Christ. His presentation was part of the one-day symposium entitled “Covert Messiah” at Conway Hall in Holborn. More

Jesus in India as a Buddhist monk (BBC video)

Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven, Ashley Wells, CC Liu, Wisdom Quarterly (2011); BBC 4 (British Broadcasting Corporation, "Did Jesus Die?"); National Buddhist Authority of Sri Lanka

Jesus Christ, Yshua of Nazareth, St. Issa arrives at Hemis Gompa, Ladakh, Himalayan India

The historical Jesus (Duccio di Buoninsegna)
Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, traveled to ancient India, to Kashmir and Buddhist Ladakh bordering Tibet, and ordained as a Buddhist monk?

How could this possibly be? Jesus is GOD (merged with Brahman), the son-of-god (devaputra), an incarnation (tulku, avatar), the Messiah (Maitreya) -- the All-Knowing, All-Powerful, All-Present, why would he go on the quest of a truth seeker in search of himself, peace, and enlightenment? He's got a universe to run and sacrificial lamb blood to spill!

Anyway, who is this rinkydink operation "the BBC" to investigate and conclude such things!? Why would a Jew leave the Holy Land and travel to the holy land to find the Wisdom of the East? It makes no sense! It upsets the cart! It's not copacetic! I have a good corporate job, a nice conservative church, a tight mortgage, and a set of Charlton Heston videos -- I will not tolerate new evidence, written documents, a tomb, a body, lore, or objective facts! It's not convenient! Oh, gawd, make it stop!

BBC 4 Documentary
Jesus Lived in India (Kersten)
(BBC 4) This documentary takes a serious look at the question, "Did Jesus die?" It examines many ideas then at Minute 25 the examination takes a very logical and grounded turn with surprising conclusions demonstrating that: the "Three Wise Men" from the East were in fact Buddhist monks, who went in search of Jesus (a tulku), found him, and came back for him around puberty.

(This kind of occurrence, characteristic of Tibetan Buddhism, is told in modern American terms in the Hollywood film "Little Buddha").
European eyes: "Sermon on the Mount"
The 18 "lost years" (not lost but purposely removed from official story) of Jesus are explained and were well known in the polyglot history of Christendom of the past. After monastic training in a Himalayan Buddhist monastery, or gompa, Jesus, known as "Issa" or "Isa" (just as he is referred to in Islam), taught Buddhism, then returned to his home in the Middle East. There he was persecuted as a rebel and troublemaker agitating for social justice and Jewish liberation from imperial Roman rule.

He was condemned, survived a six-hour crucifixion, and with the help of family and friends escaped back to Kashmir, Afghanistan, where he died a beloved old man or "saint" at the age of 80. His tomb has been located and examined, but exploration is limited due to Islamic sensitivities as it is now co-occupied.

Is former Catholic pope gay?

Wisdom Quarterly; Kevin Uhrich, "Don't Expect Miracles" (pasadenaweekly.com)
Gay? But I hate gays. I belong to a homophobic church. What gay? Sure, I've long protected the molestation of Catholic boys and men first as cardinal then as pope (smh.com.au)

Is Joe Ratzinger, formerly "Pope Benedict," a closeted and hypocritical homosexual? Or is he an extremely conservative advocate of an extremely regressive religious organization that enables and empowers homosexual child molesters and predators?

Traditionally an awe-inspiring, days-long, jewel-and-gold-encrusted spectacle..., the selection of a new Roman Catholic pope that is currently under way in Rome can only be viewed by the modern-day faithful on this side of the world with disappointment, sorrow, and outrage.

Catholic iconography resembling glorious Nazi militaristic order, artifacts, and imagery with heavenly hosts (urbantitan.com/newmexicolegionofmary.org)
That’s largely because, while believing in virgin births and other “mysteries” of faith may be required for all Catholics, turning a blind eye toward cold, hard facts is quite another thing entirely.

And if anything were apparent this week as the world’s attention turned to the 115 cardinals gathered in Vatican City to pick the next pontiff, it’s that the all-male leadership of the anti-child, anti-woman, and anti-gay Catholic Church is in a state of extreme denial, unprepared to face the very real possibility that this archaic religious institution will soon be rendered irrelevant if things don’t change.

Pope vampire cape (johnhogue.com)
With the simply stunning news about the “retirement” of former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, himself rumored to be gay and living in the adopted guise of the rigidly dogmatic Pope Benedict XVI over these past eight years, came some glimmer of hope that the church would start softening its positions against women serving as priests [maybe], the use of contraception [why not?], abortion [never], and gay lifestyles [already done].
Finally, many hoped, the blessed sisters would be recognized for their years of devotion and rewarded with priesthood for all their hard work, gays would be welcomed (openly as they are in most Protestant denominations), and priests might even be allowed to marry and experience true “fatherhood.”

Unfortunately, however, open discussion of these topics and goals has yet to occur. Not one of these cardinals to date -- including Los Angeles' own former Cardinal Roger Mahony -- has raised his voice to challenge these ancient prohibitions that are doing little more than contributing daily to the loss of Church members.

Roger Mahony (gospelaccordingtohate.com)
Mahony and his fellows all appear content to simply continue with the extremely conservative policies handed down by Pope John Paul II -- an anti-communist who opposed women clergy and allowing gays into the fold, as well as Marxism-based Liberation Theology popular throughout Central and South America -- and then dutifully carried out by Ratzinger.

The do-nothing Ratzinger’s “retirement” (the first such move by a pope in nearly 600 years) was as unusual as it remains suspicious, with people in a number of archdioceses around the world still suffering from the physical and psychological wounds caused by sexually abusive priests, all-too-common claims that only seem to grow in number as time goes on [and must be sanctioned, perhaps even promoted, by the Vatican hierarchy].

Mahony, except for his... stands on immigration and capital punishment, has over the years wholeheartedly backed church policy right down the line.

Presently, however, the cardinal finds himself stripped of all official duties with the Archdiocese of L.A. following revelations that he [criminally] covered up... for sex-offending priests. Nonetheless, Mahony still has a vote for pope, which he plans to cast, leaving all the scandal and controversy behind him in L.A. for the time being. More

"Pope No More!" nude protest (video)

FEMEN.org; Huff Post; Wisdom Quarterly
WARNING: Topless nudity and disorderly conduct in a religious shrine!

Pope Benedict (Benoit) gives a sign
A group of topless activists scandalized visitors at Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral on Tuesday by disrobing in public to celebrate Pope Benedict XVI's resignation.

The small group of women, all affiliated with radical feminist group FEMEN, flashed their breasts and banged on bells in the cathedral, shouting slogans such as, "Bye Bye Benedict" and "No more homophobe," according to the Agence France-Presse.

The pope announced his resignation Monday in a shocking pronouncement that took the Catholic community by surprise. However, FEMEN appears to have little to no love for the outgoing pontiff, whom the group blasted on its website for his stance on same-sex marriage.

According to the site, the "French Femen sextremists" were playing a "funeral march" for the pope. A photo of the women was accompanied by the following description: More

The Last Pope
Wisdom Quarterly (EDITORIAL)
Conclave of holymen gather to pick new boss
Time, due to time travel permutations and interference, is behind a few months. The real Mayan calendar end date is now no longer Dec. 21st, 2012 but rather some time in Feb. 2013, according to Lord Macklin, who spoke at the recent Conscious Life Expo. This might explain the bombshell news that Pope Benedict is stepping down all of a sudden. Is Maitreya Buddha, Messiah Jesus (Issa), or Naga Quetzalcoatl about to return? Probably not, but maybe. Something scared Mr. Ratzinger (Pope Benedict) out of office in an almost-unprecedented move. Six hundred years ago the same thing happened, but back then a better reason was given than just being too old and frail to do a good job. Last night on Coast to Coast a far more ominous reason was given: the Vatican bank has been laundering drug and Italian Mafia money, which was known, and may now be insolvent or in a great deal of trouble. What CEO wants to head a bankrupt organization that can no longer defend itself with the highest-priced lawyers around?
