Let's kill the whales...for a taste (film)

Whale flesh, so gamey, blood soaked, and greasy with blubber to use for old-timey oil lamps

"The Grind," they call it. We thought the Japanese were brutal monsters after seeing The Cove, where mammals are tricked, trapped, and slaughtered. Caucasians -- who wrote Moby Dick in the English glorification of hunting at sea -- living between Greenland, Scotland, and Norway in Denmark, a faraway place called the Faroe Islands, kill 700 pilot whales annually in an orgy of inconceivable violence. For what? A Taste of Whale. Fortunately, other whites (Sea Shepherd) attempt to stop them or at least put a spotlight on the carnage. When kids shoot kids, we're up in arms. When other species are getting it from us, eh, so what? Okay, well award it "Best Documentary." Are you satisfied?
A Taste of Whale
(Greenwich Entertainment) In theaters on Amazon and Apple TV on May 27, 2022.

The fjord’s water, surrounded by stunning green mountains, is turning blood red. It is the “Grind” season again – Faroe Islanders’ ritual slaughter of pilot whales.

Two proud Caucasian Faroese whalers are on one side, two young and passionate Sea Shepherd pro-animal activists on the other.

A Taste of Whale invites us to see past preconceived positions and question what meat-eating is truly about.
