Adult content: girls clubbing 'n partying

How can I party and still get my beauty sleep?
Laurie Bag'
and Susie Lee began a movement. Earlybirds Club, a party for women who want to dance and get to bed on time, is headed to Philly.

Many describe that party -- which ends at an appropriate 10:00 pm -- as a form of therapy and a rare chance to exhale and reconnect.

Going out to a club and dancing until 3:00 am is an early 20’ right of passage. For many women and queer folks, the ritual usually involves putting on a slightly too tight outfit, wearing heels that just may kill feet, drinking cheap alcohol without any regard for the next day’s hangover, and sleeping in well past noon.

But then the years pile on, and so do responsibilities -- as careers, partners, and kids get in the way. The time for such shenanigans tends to fall by the wayside. Still, shouldn’t those carefree, joy-filled nights of dancing stay on the table, no matter what our age?

Start bi, leave gay? Happy Pride Nights
That’s where Earlybirds Club is swooping in to fill the void. The concept, dreamed up 18 months ago in Chicago by friends Laura Baginski and Susie Lee, is a series of dance parties for GenX and Millennial women, lesbian, trans, and nonbinary people (LGBTQIA+), where drinking is optional, one can wear whatever one wants (orthopedic sneakers and fanny packs welcome), and leaving well before midnight is encouraged.

It's not lesbianism...Why does it need a label?
Already, the club has spread into multiple cities with sold-out tickets in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Boston and Providence, Rhode Island.

And now, for the first time the party is headed to Philly. Source: Earlybirds Club, a dance party for ‘middle aged-ish’ women, is headed to Philadelphia

72-y.o. Golden Bachelor: Meet his dates

ABC; Wall Street Journal (WSJ) ARTS & CULTURE TV; ABC, Family Guy; The View; Sky News Australia; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells, Sheldon S., CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
I would do date Gerry. wait is it Gary  or Jeri? Oh, I'd date him hard, better then these...

Hi, I'm Grandpa Gerry. But you can call me Fabrizzio, the Golden Fox and geriatric lover.

America’s new most eligible bachelor, 72-year-old grandpa Gerry Turner, is a retired restaurateur who fills his days with pickleball. He’s about to date 22 women, one as young as 61, on national television (WSJ).
ABC has high hopes for senior dating (Variety)
(WQ) It's a spectacle that will have bedrooms across the nation's old folks' homes retirement villas roiling with lust and provocative thoughts ("girl porn" romantic ideas sure to make married men groan, regretting they gave up the remote control because the game is on, and the power tools are getting cold in the garage and shed, and the lawn needs mowing, and there's a poker game over at Big Al's, and they're showing ESPN clips at the bar, and and...uh, help, there's got to be more to life than this garbage programming!)

Preview review

OMG, my work is never done.
The critics have seen it, and here's the problem: On the regular youthful version of the show with 20-somethings, if imbalanced young ladies come on and entertain us with their drama and humiliating loss of love after being drummed out, it's easy to imagine them meeting someone new the very next week. There's no reason for them to mope.

But here, in this golden years version, with all the silver foxes coming after the geriatric bachelor, if they're heartbroken, it's really easy to imagine that this was their last chance at true love or any love. They're hitting the wall, and now they're about to hit the ceiling as they get beat out by brighter, craftier, more cunning opponents. Will 60-year-old Nancy, Maria, or Joan win out because of their age...or will a crone rule the roost -- and the pickleball court -- and take the man chicken in hand as she does a man chicken walk in front of the other hens?

Will the Bidens be watching, Jill?

"The Golden Girls" reunion (video)

Golden (Estelle Getty, Betty White, Bea "Maude" Arthur, Rue McClanahan) Girls, Lifetime TV, 2003; Best Clips of the Golden Girls; Ashley Wells, Sheldon S., Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly

Gold girls have no Golden personalities (VS).
Just like the title song says, "Thank you for being a [TV] friend," Golden Girls. Leave it to schmaltzy Lifetime TV way back in 2003 -- 11 years after the final episode originally aired -- to bring us to tears with funny Estelle Getty & Company. HD TV this is not, but real "friends of Dorothy" won't mind, ha ha.

The strangest thing is that Estelle Getty was the youngest person on the cast playing the eldest, and she was the first to go in real life.

Now the world mourns the loss of BoJack.
Look, American TV is not that good, most of the time, but it's all we've got to stitch together a unified "culture."

Now in the Golden Age of TV with binge-watching and Netflix, it's a little better. But with 600 shows to pick from, no one gets general references like they used to. It's the Post-Ironic Age. Then there's Maude, was, and Mary Tyler Moore.

The closest thing to a cultural comedy: DNC cheating for Pete Buttigieg

Radical Women

NOTE: In an ongoing effort to oppose centuries of bias and discrimination (sexism), WQ supports those at the forefront of the women's movement. WQ may not agree with all means, but achieving equality is paramount. In a Buddhist context, women are equal. WQ supports full Theravadan ordination, parity in the workplace, and the egalitarian ideals of the Enlightenment. WQ, therefore, also supports radical women.
.
A trailblazing socialist feminist organization, Radical Women is the revolutionary wing of the women's movement and a strong feminist voice within the Left.

Immersed in the daily struggle subduing racism, sexism, homophobia, and labor exploitation, Radical Women views women's leadership as decisive to world revolution and trains women to take their place in the forefront of the struggle.

RW is an autonomous, all-women's group. It has socialist affiliations on the basis of mutual respect, solidarity, and shared socialist feminist ideals.

Get involved if you want to change the world and collaborate with a feisty bunch of rebel grrlz of all colors, genders, and ages. Everyone has something to learn, teach, and contribute!
