(DW) Deaths in a devastating fire at a pub in Theravada Buddhist Thailand's capital Bangkok have risen to 30, reports said Tuesday, citing updated figures from city officials.
A screen grab taken from a video released on July 12, shows people fleeing a fire at the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao bar. Three more victims succumbed to their injuries, pushing up the tally from the initial 27 dead, local media reports said.
More than 70 people continue to receive treatment in hospitals, with 24 of them in critical condition, officials said.
Bangkok, July 15: The death toll from a devastating Bangkok bar fire has risen to 33, authorities said on Wednesday, as Thailand pledged a nationwide overhaul of entertainment venue regulations (Asian Standard).
Meanwhile, police are probing possible negligence, including obstructed emergency exits as people scrambled to flee the flames. Most killed were found trapped in windowless bathrooms.

An explosive fire ripped through Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a pub near the popular Chatuchak Weekend Market in northern Bangkok late on Sunday night.
Footage circulating on social media showed a powerful inferno jetting out of the bar's doorway as people ran to escape.
It took firefighters about half an hour to tame the fire.
The blaze is one of the deadliest in Thailand since 2009, when a New Year's Day fire at a nightclub killed 67 people.
On Tuesday, more mourners laid down flowers and handwritten notes at the site of the incident as remnants from the bar -- including melted musical instruments and sooty chairs -- lay on the sidewalk.

He missed his prom because he was working and determined to have a career in radio. Now that he has it, gosh darn it, he's going to have a prom experience, even as a fat, depressive radio personality with waning ratings compared to the competition he and lackeys face in Los Angeles. But they're heard around the country and online through iheart.com. It started at 7:00 pm, a lot of people were dressed up, and the others were at least wearing joke tee-shirts that looked like tuxedo fronts. An amazing close-up magician named Jerimiah "Jer Bear" DeMatteis wowed the crowd with impossible feats of sleight of hand and stage magick (that may have had demonic assistance because it can't be explained, like a signed playing card ending up two stories up against the ceiling after it had just been all over the deck with a possibly buzzed Greg Gory holding a bag of Funyuns). DJ Tim played.
Jewish Co-Host Gina Grad behaved neurotic AF. Spaz band played. People played. It ended up being better than last year's. Sadly, Chubs Menace was there, using his phone to zoom in on the card on the ceiling. The gays were making time with him, and then he disappeared. He was as gone as Morgan, vomiting in her car, drunk as a furry black and white animal that stinks, missing three hours of the prom. Rick showed up too early and claims he left disgruntled, having asked the concierge where the big party was and not having the sense to plan ahead. Most people, coming in from all over the country, got hotel rooms at Morongo. "If you fail to plan, [it must mean] you plan to fail." Everyone knows that, even Bork and Menji.
Prom update news. It may not even be worth going now. Miss Sammi Marino's new boyfriend, Steamboat Willie, won't let her go. He's planned a family outing to Disneyland with his parents, so she's out. Guess there's always Mel' Morgan, not the pornstar, but the Mellow Melancholy One, the Lucy Goosey grrrl boxer. And Chubs Menace is sure to be snacking on something stup*d.

Who gets to define "normal" or "natural"?
"Conversion therapy" is the pseudoscientific practice of attempting to change an individual's sexual orientation, romantic preference, gender identity, or gender expression to align with heteronormative (cisgender) ideals. Conversion therapy is said to be ineffective at changing a person's sexual orientation or gender identity and may (and frequently does) cause significant long-term psychological harm.
