The more beautiful game: Buddhist sports?

(FOX Sports) 2026 FIFA World Cup Final: Spain vs. Argentina
.
Can legend Lionel Messi win for Argentina?
The world has settled all its differences, and peace has broken out. But just when we were on the verge of celebrating a thousand years of sanity to come, Spain declares war on Argentina, threatening to rub their faces in the grass and to break Messi's body if necessary. Will Argentina, minus its Falkland Islands, put up with European imperialism, colonialism, and exploitation? It can only be decided on the field of mock battle before the audience of the world. And here we sit in the most cross-cultural city in the [Evil] Empire, Los Angeles, waiting to be amused, entertained, and delighted. RESULT: Having declared war on a European colony in the "New World," colonia powerhouse Spain beat the Latin upstart by the slightest margin possible, plunging the Americas into a funk and the EU into ecstatics. "There's always next year" won't work this time. A World Cup isn't that easy.

Bhutan's submission: The Cup
While the soccer World Cup is being played in France, two young Tibetan refugees arrive at a monastery (lamasery) boarding school in exile in India. Its atmosphere of serene contemplation is somewhat disrupted by soccer fever, the chief instigator being a young student, the soccer (association footballfanatic Orgyen. Prevented by various circumstances from seeing The Cup finals on television in a nearby village, Orgyen sets out to organize the rental of a TV set for the Buddhist monastery. All the quiet contemplatives become loud sports enthusiasts instead, whose behavior borders on worldly hooliganism.

How to PARTY in LA (RIP George Floyd)

Failure Mayor Karen "LA Fire" Bass has given us carte blanche to arrest anyone we want!

[Party] Mob in downtown LA damages buildings, stops trains | FOX 11

Allies against racist police abuse of POC
(LAFOX 11 Los Angeles) May 25, 2025: A massive "mob" of people [young partygoers utilizing the rooftop of an empty warehouse] in downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) spray-painted and damaged dozens of buildings and even stopped two Metro trains, according to riot police who assembled to beat and disperse them with impunity].

What happened?
Hurt people hurt people. (Officer Cartman)
(ABC7 News) The LAPD said they received a call about a "large group disturbance" at Trinity Street and E Washington Boulevard. That's where more than 1,000 people had gathered for an unpermitted party [on the rooftop of] an abandoned warehouse. As officers arrived, things [coincidentally] escalated [which had nothing to do with their aggressive provocations to intimidate and establish dominance like prison alphas armed-and-extra-dangerous with paramilitary equipment, firing rubber bullets, which are not rubber but deadly cannons that can maim and kill]. The out-of-control vandals tagged businesses [with aerosol spray cans], a police vehicle, and the interior and exterior of two Metro A-line trains with graffiti. No passengers or operators were hurt, but service was delayed for 20 minutes. [The initial strike force called for backup and reinforcement.] Police [arrived] in riot gear [and] eventually moved in, firing rubber bullets after issuing multiple [muffled] warnings [threats] to disperse [or else]. According to the mayor's office, the crowd even assaulted some officers [tossing empty plastic water bottles in their direction and flipping them off with offensive hand gestures and running away instead of making easy targets], with one requiring medical attention after [allegedly] being struck in the face with a bottle [or something, perhaps the officer's own baton, helmet cover, weapon, cuffs, or shield]. More
COMMENTARY
  • That's enough vandalism, M'kay, Kids?
[No one is defending senseless vandalism, but it makes sense to strike back if The Man, cops known as the abusive LAPD, which represents all Los Angelenos, particularly the business-owners who support cops, to bear the brunt of police abuses. Bringing out a paramilitary riot squad (with spies, police informants, and plenty of agent provocateurs in the crowd to provide the pretext for institutional violence against citizens) and releasing them on unarmed and peaceful partygoers, it's NO WONDER those partygoers would tag up the town, spray graffiti, break windows, and otherwise what others misjudge as "their own city." It's not their city. It belongs to businesses and the Goon Squad paid with taxes to protect business-as-usual. "F the police," people will say for exactly this reason. What reason? "We make revolution inevitable when we make political participation impossible."
  • Hey, Cops, stop killing Black people! (wsj.com)
People act out exactly because they are denied their voice.

What voice do youthful partygoers have in this megalopolis? They can party. They can spray paint. They can make trouble on the weekends in the veil of anonymity. Bring them in and make them vested in this town with a future, and they wouldn't act this way. It is the explanation for every riot (uprising) we have in this city, and it's been going on for many decades since the Zoot Suit Riots, Watts Riots, the Rodney King Riots, Occupy Movement Riot, and it's a wonder that the recent case of police being acquitted of the most serious charges of depriving a citizen of his civil rights, Tyre Nichols Trial verdict: 3 former Memphis officers found not guilty in fatal beating of Black motorist [who, admittedly, was Black while driving and maybe giving the officers a little attitude], which seems to happen at least once a week. Hmm, what is this the fifth anniversary of? George Floyd: May 25th.]

Found: original 'Family Guy' (lost pilot)

Family Guy lost pilot (full 1998) FOUND

(Goobie) March 20, 2025: Uploaded to Robert Paulson's website Found by GhostTheDeadGirl of the Lost Media Wiki's Discord. Thank you to my goat blameitonjorge for posting it.

After 30 years of being missing, Family Guy's LOST pilot has finally been found! Today let's talk about the major differences between the pilot and what eventually became Season 1, Episode 1 of the series Fox TV ordered from creator and animator Seth MacFarlane.

Can anyone list the funniest moments of all time?

History of the show
Creator Seth MacFarlane
In the beginning, MacFarlane pitched a 16-minute pilot to Fox in May 1998, and the show was greenlit and began production. Then came the Family Guy controversies. By 2002, Family Guy's cancellation was announced shortly after the third season had aired, with one unaired episode eventually premiering on Adult Swim in 2003, finishing the series' original run. Favorable DVD sales and high ratings from syndicated reruns since then convinced Fox to revive the show in 2004; the fourth season began airing the following year, on May 1, 2005. The end.

'The Simpsons' (first ever and finale)

How 'The Simpsons' animation evolved over 30 years
(Insider) On May 23, 2021, the 32nd season finale of The Simpsons aired on Fox TV, finishing off a landmark season where the show celebrated its 700th episode. The series has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a segment on The Tracey Ullman Show. On air for 32 years by 2021 and still counting, it's become the longest-running scripted series on prime time, the longest-running American animated series, and the longest-running American sitcom.

Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie have evolved a lot over the course of three decades — in the style, movement, and details in character designs, all the way down to pupil size.

This episode of "Movies Insider" turns to David Silverman and Al Jean, two of the main minds behind the show since Day 1, to find out how the show's animation evolved from the rough-around-the-edges style of cartoonist Matt Groening's early sketches to the crisp, clean look of the show in its 32nd season. #TheSimpsons #Animation #MoviesInsider

Bart's Birthday Party (The Simpsons Series Finale)
(Scrooge200) A fake Simpsons series finale involves everyone in Springfield moving on, but Bart is hesitant to change it. Featuring John Cena and Danny Devito. From the Season 36 premiere, "Bart's Birthday."

The Simpsons drops surprise series finale
(Johnny 2 Cellos) For the Season 36 premiere, The Simpsons has done something unprecedented. They aired a surprise series (not season) finale. Well, sort of.

As somebody who grew up obsessed with The Simpsons, it’s cool to say that the show is going through something of a renaissance. Since Matt Selman took over as showrunner in Season 33, the show (created by Mat Groening) has started to feel fresher like it has a renewed energy.

But I think beyond that, the thing that’s really made me excited about the show again is the ways it’s been willing to experiment. And tonight’s premiere, "Bart’s Birthday," is the perfect example of that new energy.

The Simpsons is bringing something fresh to the table, embracing the show’s obscenely long and storied history to throw itself a premature series finale event. It’s one that celebrates The Simpsons in a way that an actual series finale would never be able to. So let’s talk about The Simpsons season premiere/series finale.

What The Simpsons predicted for 2024

Scary Simpsons predictions for 2024
(Top 10s) Jan. 12, 2024: As we step into the year 2024 [and the beyond of Project 2025], the uncanny ability of The Simpsons to seemingly predict future events continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

The iconic animated cartoon series, created by genius Matt Groening (famous for the comic strip Life in Hell), has gained a reputation for its eerily accurate foresight, having depicted numerous real-world occurrences long before they unfolded and became clear to us.

Delving into the latest season of The Simpsons, anticipation runs high among fans, eager to uncover what satirical crystal ball the show may hold for events to come and trends that await us in 2024.

In a world where reality often mirrors the cartoonish scenarios depicted in Springfield, USA, the anticipation is not just for laughs but also for the possibility that the show will once again provide a glimpse into the future.

'Full of sh*t': Secret Service lies, evasions

[Evasive] SS Director Cheatle grilled by lawmakers on Trump assassination attempt
(FOX 11 Los Angeles) THESE ARE MERELY SOME HIGHLIGHTS: Stonewalling, dodging, perjury, lying, evasion, deception, obfuscation, playing dumb... Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was GRILLED by lawmakers Monday (July 22, 2024) on the Trump assassination attempt saying, "We failed" but refusing to answer a majority of Congress members' questions.

The full disgraceful perjured testimony

Director Cheatle is clearly aware that there's a conspiracy and she cannot throw the FBI under the bus for their participation in this attempted assassination. She is probably wisely, sagaciously evading and lying to save her own life. While she may be killed anyway, she would almost certainly be killed almost immediately (as a staged suicide) if she said what she already knew. If viewers of investigative videos with only a casual interest in the topic of a failed shooting of an unpopular politician can know volumes more than Cheatle is claiming to know, that is just not credible. By saying she is waiting to say until she is sure is the political thing to do. It is career suicide, but it is likely extending her life. Cheatle, welcome to the Machine. Survive this, and there's a promotion in it for you. Crack and speak your mind and you're through. What a country.

Hezbollah warns of escalation with Israel, threatens U.S. in televised speech
(LiveNOW from FOX) Nov. 3, 2023: Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened possible escalation with Israel and said the freedom fighter group will continue its attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria.

Nasrallah made the comment in a much-anticipated televised speech Friday, addressing the ongoing Israeli's obliteration of Gaza as it claims to be trying to take revenge on Hamas.

He commended Hamas for breaking out of Israel's open-air prison and staging a successful cross-border attack, referring to Israel as "the occupiers."

72-y.o. Golden Bachelor: Meet his dates

ABC; Wall Street Journal (WSJ) ARTS & CULTURE TV; ABC, Family Guy; The View; Sky News Australia; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells, Sheldon S., CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
I would do date Gerry. wait is it Gary  or Jeri? Oh, I'd date him hard, better then these...

Hi, I'm Grandpa Gerry. But you can call me Fabrizzio, the Golden Fox and geriatric lover.

America’s new most eligible bachelor, 72-year-old grandpa Gerry Turner, is a retired restaurateur who fills his days with pickleball. He’s about to date 22 women, one as young as 61, on national television (WSJ).
ABC has high hopes for senior dating (Variety)
(WQ) It's a spectacle that will have bedrooms across the nation's old folks' homes retirement villas roiling with lust and provocative thoughts ("girl porn" romantic ideas sure to make married men groan, regretting they gave up the remote control because the game is on, and the power tools are getting cold in the garage and shed, and the lawn needs mowing, and there's a poker game over at Big Al's, and they're showing ESPN clips at the bar, and and...uh, help, there's got to be more to life than this garbage programming!)

Preview review

OMG, my work is never done.
The critics have seen it, and here's the problem: On the regular youthful version of the show with 20-somethings, if imbalanced young ladies come on and entertain us with their drama and humiliating loss of love after being drummed out, it's easy to imagine them meeting someone new the very next week. There's no reason for them to mope.

But here, in this golden years version, with all the silver foxes coming after the geriatric bachelor, if they're heartbroken, it's really easy to imagine that this was their last chance at true love or any love. They're hitting the wall, and now they're about to hit the ceiling as they get beat out by brighter, craftier, more cunning opponents. Will 60-year-old Nancy, Maria, or Joan win out because of their age...or will a crone rule the roost -- and the pickleball court -- and take the man chicken in hand as she does a man chicken walk in front of the other hens?

Will the Bidens be watching, Jill?
