Gender as ideology (Dr. Miriam Grossman)

s an ideology not based on sound science. There's an agenda. It is being imposed on us. And it is
Dr. Miriam Grossman, MD, has strong opinions about the new wave of gender a neither healthy for the individuals involved or society as a whole. Western civilization is so influential that many non-Western countries are jumping on board, motivated by staying on the right side of NATO and American hegemony.

Trans Jeffree sets the world straight about "they/them"

Jordan Peterson talks to Joe Rogan about this whole "movement" to transition people who are gender dysphoric rather than looking at the underlying discontent with how they were (re)born. Is being female gender better for a male or vice versa? Both genders have their pitfalls and delights, and rebirth gives us both. Hey, Kids, want to be more popular? Say you're trans! Be trans! Transition and that'll solve all your problems, we promise (says the institutional medical types who pathologize everything they can sell a "treatment" for but never a "cure").

American: "I am the new Hitler"

Associated Press (ap.org); CC Liu, Seth Auberon, Crystal Quintero (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Self-proclaimed Nazi's name change to Hitler takes effect
It used to be such a nice German name.
HUNTERDON, New Jersey (AP) - A self-proclaimed American Nazi officially became Isidore Heath Hitler with a name change that took effect this week.

MyCentralJersey.com ("Hunterdon Nazi dad's name change to Hitler official") reported Hitler's name officially changed from Isidore Heath Campbell on Monday, the anniversary of World War II's end in Europe after Germany's arranged surrender.

Isidore Heath Campbell, Deborah Campbell
If I want to be an overt racist, is that a crime?
"It's great. My driver's license is changed over [to Hitler], my insurance, my registration, all that I needed is changed over," he said.

"I'm the new Hitler." He said his initials, I.H.H., stand for "I Hail Hitler," and that he gave a prayer for the Nazis on the day his name officially changed.

Hitler: "I am not a racialist. But, and this is a big but..." (Monty Python*)
Isidore Heath Campbell, left, his wife, Deborah, and son Adolf Hitler, 3, in Easton, Pa. On May 8, 2017, Campbell officially became Isidore Heath Hitler. He first gained national attention when a supermarket refused to decorate a birthday cake for his son, Adolf Hitler (AP).

He has a right; more power to him!
Mr. Hitler first gained national attention when a supermarket refused to decorate a birthday cake for his son, who's named Adolf Hitler Campbell after the Nazi leader.

The new American Hitler said he now wants to regain custody of his four children, who are all named after various Nazis and white nationalist groups. [Is there a boy named Donny Trumf?]

The United States, innovators of eugenics, is a post-racist society after [s]electing Obama?
.
During a family court hearing for his youngest son, Mr. Hitler reportedly entered a New Jersey courthouse dressed in a Nazi uniform. Court records show Hitler was ordered to seek counseling. But he refused because he says his psychologist was Jewish.

American racism: Nazis got eugenics from US
I want a jersey like that. I'll support eugenics.
Eugenics is the practice that aims at "improving" the genetic desirability or quality of the.... During the early 20th century, the US began to receive far higher numbers of Southern and Eastern European immigrants. What is the History of eugenics? (Wikipedia). These [eugenics] laws were upheld by the US Supreme Court in 1927 [long before the German Nazis arose] and...began to promote eugenics.

How Narcissists Took Over the World (video)

Gavin Haynes (VICE); Pat Macpherson, Seth Auberon, CC Liu, Wisdom Quarterly; Occupy
Full-size portrait of naked Donald Trump with hand-size penis (microphallus) on display.

That's my penis, The Donald!!
Narcissists are suddenly everywhere. This is thanks in large part to Donald John Trump’s media diagnosis, "Narcissistic Personality Disorder."

It has overtaken "psychopath" and "bipolar" to emerge as our Number One label for others’ gross psychological failings.

He's crazy and I'm normal. Vote Jill Stein
As part of The Chosen Ones Series, Gavin Haynes attempts to peel the pop back away from the psych to see what’s left.

Haynes visits the experts, quizzes YouTube gurus, hangs out with the well-varnished girls dating on hotties-only site BeautifulPeople.com, and support groups for victims of narcissists, all the while hunting for a real-life narcissist.

Another MC attacks Sikh temple in US

UPDATED 8/8; Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)
Guru Nanak and nine other famous Sikh teachers. (Dev and ji are simply Indian honorifics).

OAK CREEK, Wisconsin - Well that didn't take long. Two weeks ago horrified Americans were shouting "Never again," and we were adding, "until the next time." Another Manchurian Candidate (MC) has been loosed upon civil society to create random mayhem and sow the seeds of fear.
Successful PsyOps candidate Page
Islamophobia figures into it, just as it did in Norway, because the first person shooter (whom police claim to have executed or "put down" when it seems, in fact, he followed his programming and committed suicide) was a white supremacist. He, Wade Michael Page, was also a military man with a checkered past that makes ordinary who would not be expected to have moved up the ranks if he were simply an enlisted man. And what did he do for the military-industrial complex (MIC)? PsyOps!

Now PsyOps (the propaganda arm of the MIC that runs black projects under the general heading of "psychological operations") must be getting pretty sloppy. Two weeks ago their MC was triggered to attack, that is, to methodically launch a finely tuned plan with no emotion, no thought, and very little if anything to remember.

Holmes medicated into silence
Once in custody the MC is chemically lobotomized to prevent any uncomfortable memories from creeping in and leaking to the public. It happened to wild-eyed Jared Loughner (who is "pleading guilty" while medicated out of his mind), the Gabby Gifford shooter, and James "the Joker" Holmes, the Aurora gunman.

Why do these things happen?
Why would anyone attack Sikhs (pronounced sEEks, not sICks), a small religion popular in India with many financially successful adherents, which seems to blend cultural elements of Hinduism and Sufism (mystic Islam). Kundalini Yoga as brought to America by the charismatic "Yogi Tea" magnate Yogi Bhajan is not "yoga" in the traditional Brahminical sense. Rather, it is a Sikh creation that has become very popular in the US thanks to female American converts like Gurmukh). Sikhism has, however, nothing to do with actual Islam. But appearances matter as much as assumptions: Turbans, uncut beards, white linen clothing -- it's all enough to earn them the pejorative "towel h*ads" and more disturbing militaristic ethnic slurs like Hajji, a term roughly equivalent to "gooks," employed by US soldiers committing war crimes during the US war on Vietnam. So was the hateful vocalist Page really out to avenge 9/11 or continue his military training as a civilian? Working in PsyOps it is more likely that he was hoisted by his own petard. He went from researcher to research subject without signing an informed consent release. The process of converting certain personality types, tested for by military psychiatrists, has been perfected since the idea of creating one or two man sleeper cells (along with their above top secret handlers) was born. The Russians apparently did it; the military-industrial complex does it. It is all part of "winning hearts and minds" (WHAM) by scaring up and inciting civilian support for US military atrocities. If draconian police state tactics are now suggested "for our security," who will oppose it? One must suppose that the NRA (National Rifle Association) will as well as both corporate wings of the Republican party (i.e., Obamas and Romneys). Gun control? Take guns out of the hands of scared citizens and put them in the hands of abusive police. This country does not grow richer every year manufacturing arms for the world by allowing greater regulations without a fight. In fact, any peace talk is actually thwarted rather than aided by US intervention, which coincidentally profits Democratic and Republican candidates' corporate supporters.

Gurmukh, owner of Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood, discusses friendship

Such events, then, pay off in many ways: the imposition of Orwellian regulations, loss of civil liberties, further encroachment of federal Big Brother style government into our lives, acceptance of endless war doctrine (fighting against tactics such as "terrorism" rather than finite countries), widespread panic, irrational fear-based behavior by citizenry (like increased gun sales to prevent more killings when guns can only attempt to do that by killing), xenophobia goes unremedied as "in" and "out" groups are further delineated, increased pharmaceutical sales (by citizens, shooters, police, military, and future candidates)... There is a great deal of money to be made because of fear, arms manufacturing being the most obvious. With that being the case, how can "peace" be tolerated?

The Three Buddhist Personality Types

Dhr. Seven, Amber Dorrian, Maya, Wisdom Quarterly; Wisdom-Books.com
The Couch, originally used for psychotherapy, Freud's office, England. Note Buddhist statuary.

Buddhist Character Analysis (Aukana)
Drawing from ancient Theravada Buddhist teachings, authors Robert Mann and Rose Youd present the three main human character types and their three counterparts.

This Abhidharmic "Buddhist Psychology" is preserved in The Path of Purification (Visuddhi Magga) by Buddhaghosa, All individuals possess each of the three traits and their flipside, but some personality types may be dominant in one or two.

These roots of character condition everything we do:
  1. greed (craving) vs. confidence (faith)
  2. hatred (ill will) vs. wisdom
  3. delusion (confusion) vs. speculation (clarity).
Joyful novices (wellhappypeaceful.com)
Buddhist Character Analysis is the study of these psychological or "personality types." It gives greater insight into human behavior patterns, karmic habits, rebirth, and the nature of reality.

Observing how these roots permeate all aspects of our behavior -- mental, verbal, and physical -- we can begin to appreciate the depth and subtlety of the Buddha's insight and formulation of the Teachings.

The cause of and cure for suffering: ignorance vs. wisdom (balancedexistence.com)

Attraction, aversion, and delusion (lobha, dosa, and moha) are personality features we are all born with. They linger in our hearts manifesting to greater or lesser degrees.

Enlightenment is the result of attenuating them long enough for wisdom to uproot them. They are harmful tendencies, in an ultimate sense, although conventionally we may assume we are unable to do without them.

They have conditioned our karma for countless aeons leading to all manner of upset -- craving, resentment, wrong views, culminating again and again in disappointment and distress (suffering). So have their direct opposite categories: non-greed, non-hate, non-delusion. The positive personality types -- faith, wisdom, speculation -- are the other side of the coin. They are not ultimately good in and of themselves but lead to that ultimate good: nirvana as non-clinging because things are seen as they are really are and always have been.

We will not magically see things just as they are. We have carried the burden of delusion and ignorance for inconceivable lengths of time (uncountable maha kalpas). The Dharma, or what may really be called "Buddhism" is not ultimately a set of beliefs; it is a set of instructions on how to see the liberating Truth for ourselves. That knowledge-and-vision liberates. Faith, belief, allegiance, words, and books do not.
(Khanh Hmoong/flickr.com)
Our understanding of human nature is considerably enhanced and much of the distress entailed in relating with people is smoothed out of our lives when we understand the types.

If we follow the "path of purification" laid out by the Buddha and gathered from wise scholar-monks by Buddhism's most famous commentator -- author not only of The Path of Purification but also the parallel work preserved in Chinese, The Path of Freedom (Vimutti Magga) -- we can utilize this increased sense of calm and ease as an essential step on the road to the beyond-beyond.

We can restrain craving, anger, and confusion; we can cultivate confidence (faith), wisdom (intelligent discernment), and speculation (clarity, non-confusion). And by developing understanding of the true nature of reality, we can finally transcend them all. Long before that, we can rein them in. And by doing so we reduce our suffering and increase the happiness and security of any realm we are in.

Autism from a child's view (cartoon)

TheAnMish (Aspie); Dr. Claudia M. Gold (Boston.com); Wisdom Quarterly
"The causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder? How dare you! You can't talk about a cause! Next you'll be talking about a cure. I'm not chelating my kid! So what if environmental toxins, like vaccine excipients, are implicated? You have to vaccinate. Asperrger's -- it's God's will; it's a random occurrence; it's unexplainable, so don't even talk about it until you go through it. Chemtrails, thimerosal, plasticizers, food additives, 'natural' flavors, excitotoxins, lead, fluoride... I don't want to hear it!"

The Autism Label Controversy: A Child's View
Dr. Claudia M. Gold, M.D. (Boston.com)

ADULT: "That kid has autism." CHILD: "I am very smart and tuned in to everything happening around me. I get overwhelmed when there are a lot of people. I love music, but I hear every sound so intensely that I need to cover my ears. Sometimes I run around in circles to help myself calm down. When grown-ups make me go somewhere that is too loud or confusing, I lie down on the floor and scream.

(TheAnMish) Many positives to not being "neurotypical": focus,
creativity, loyalty, devotion, innocence, honesty, loving-kindness.

"When people get too close I can't stand it. Sometimes I hit the other kids when this happens and now I can't go to preschool. My parents fight all the time about what to do about my difficult behavior. My little sister is very quiet because she knows to get out of the way when I am having trouble." More

Burning Man from 373 miles above Earth: A European space satellite took photos of the 2011 Burning Man [Labor Day week] festival in the Nevada desert.

(CSM) Burning Man is a weeklong art and self-expression festival that meets every year around Labor Day. This year, it runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 5. Attendance was capped at 50,000, and the event sold out in July. This year marks the 25th anniversary... The event began modestly in 1986, when a handful of friends torched an 8-foot (2.4-m) wooden man on a San Francisco beach. More

"The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth" (book)

In a smart, entertaining, reassuring book that reads like fiction, New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Robbins manages to cross Gossip Girl with Freaks and Geeks and explain the fascinating psychology and science behind popularity and outcasthood.

Robbins reveals that the things that set students apart in high school are the things that help them stand out later in life. Robbins follows seven real people grappling with the uncertainties of high school social life, including:
  • The Loner, who has withdrawn from classmates since they persuaded her to unwittingly join her own hate club;
  • The Popular Bitch, a cheerleading captain both seduced by and trapped within her clique's perceived prestige;
  • The Nerd, whose differences cause students to laugh at him and his mother to needle him for not being "normal";
  • The New Girl, determined to stay positive as classmates harass her for her mannerisms and target her because of her race;
  • The Gamer, an underachiever in danger of not graduating, despite his intellect and his yearning to connect with other students;
  • The Weird Girl, who battles discrimination and gossipy politics in school but leads a joyous life outside of it;
  • The Band Geek, who is alternately branded too serious and too emo, yet annually runs for class president.
In the middle of the year, Robbins surprises her subjects with a secret challenge -- experiments that force them to change how classmates see them.

Robbins intertwines these narratives -- often triumphant, occasionally heartbreaking, and always captivating -- with essays exploring subjects like the secrets of popularity, being excluded doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you, why outsiders succeed, how schools make the social scene worse -- and how to fix it.

The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth is not just essential reading for students, teachers, parents, and anyone who deals with teenagers, but for all of us, because at some point in our lives we've all been on the outside looking in. More

Your Musical taste defines your Personality

Study finds that musical taste "defines personality": LONDON (Reuters Life! 9/5/08) – Fans of classical music and jazz are creative, pop lovers are hardworking and, despite the stereotypes, heavy metal listeners are gentle, creative types who are at ease with themselves.

So says Professor Adrian North of Scotland's Heriot-Watt University who has been studying the links between people's personalities and their choice of music. "People often define their sense of identity through their musical taste, wearing particular clothes, going to certain pubs, and using certain types of slang," North said.

"It's not surprising that personality should also be related to musical preference." In what North said was the largest study ever conducted into individuals' musical preference and character, researchers asked 36,518 people from around the world to rate how much they liked 104 different musical styles before taking a personality test.

"Researchers have been showing for decades that fans of rock and rap are rebellious, and that fans of opera are wealthy and well-educated," North said. "But this is the first time that research has shown that personality links to liking for a wide range of musical styles."

The study concluded that:

  • Jazz and classical music fans are creative with good self-esteem, although the former are much more outgoing whereas the latter are shy.
  • Country-Western fans were found to be hardworking and shy.
  • Rap fans are outgoing.
  • Indie lovers lack self-esteem and are not very gentle.
  • Those who like soul music can take heart as the research concluded they are creative, outgoing, gentle, at ease with themselves, and have a high self-esteem.
And if you've ever wondered why people driving expensive sports cars often have music blaring from their vehicle, North could have an explanation. Those who choose to listen to exciting, punchy music are more likely to be in a higher earning bracket, he says, while those who go for relaxing sounds tend to be lower down the pay scale.

North is still looking for volunteers to take part in the research.

Buddhist Psychology

Bhikkhu Ayu Kusala Ananda (formerly Professor Mirko Frýba, Ph.D.)

Buddhist psychology has to be a science of mind, which also studies the specific Buddhist approaches to mind. Therefore it has to hold good against all the criteria of science, such as the empirical validity, methodological reliability of procedures, consistency of theoretical statements, etc. Moreover it has to be useful for practical life coping according to the Dhamma in order to be called Buddhist.

The themes deemed to belong to Buddhist psychology became very fashionable towards the end of twentieth century. In collections of popular books, we find many opinions about the Buddhist psychology and, in particular, a lot of nonsense about the supposedly Buddhist psychotherapy which we shall deal with at the conclusion. However there are available also reliable scientific treatments of Buddhist psychology, an overview of which is given by Beatrice Vogt Frýba and Mirko Frýba in a monograph Sīlabbata – Virtuous Performance, the Empirical Basis for the Science of Buddhist Psychology...
