“I have faith in a seed.
If you tell me you have a seed there, I am prepared to expect wonders.”
- Henry David Thoreau
The candles of the holiday season celebrate solstice rituals, the return of light after the darkness of winter. In this time of increasing public divisiveness and global challenges, let’s take time to light our lamps and plant seeds of goodness. What we plant will determine our future. This is what will change the world.
Come to the InsightLA holiday benefit on the afternoon of Dec. 14th and be inspired! We celebrate the light with joy and stories of blessings for all who come. Fr. Greg Boyle waters seeds of the goodness in the gang members who come to Homeboy Industries to find a better life. Seane Corn’s yoga teaching has become a ministry of healing and service, caring for people from Los Angeles to Uganda to Cambodia. George Mumford works his magic planting sturdy seeds of Dharma and goodness among the top young athletes who motivate our next generation.
The light of just one candle can brighten the darkest room. Many candles make it brighter. United, we can illuminate our world. While one seed is good, when people come together to practice mindful loving awareness and compassion, a whole field of benevolence arises. You are part of the community of caring emerging from planting good seeds in our lives and on the earth.
Insight LA offers a shining lamp and beautiful seeds. Over the past 17 years now, we have offered thousands of classes and retreats and served Los Angeles communities, supporting those in need and offering teachings of mindfulness, lovingkindness and compassion to everyone who joins us to meditate. Bring your light and join in!
Let's Sit Together! Come join our community service programs, volunteer, become a monthly donor. Carry a lamp of clarity and love. Plant seeds of goodness. This is the way to celebrate the season.
