Jeffrey Epstein's autopsy reveals multiple broken neck bones: report

An autopsy performed on accused [and previously convicted] pedophile Jeffrey Epstein showed that he "sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones," the Washington Post reported Wednesday evening.

According to people familiar with the autopsy report, one of the bones [red herring, a "fake news" detail according to Dr. Drew (8/15/19)] that were broken in Epstein's neck is known as the "hyoid bone," which is located near the Adam's apple on a man, the Post reported.

Such injuries can be associated with hanging suicides -- especially in older individuals. However, forensics experts say that type of injury is far more common for victims who have been strangled.

News of the autopsy results adds to the deepening mystery surrounding the multi-millionaire's [previously billionaire's] death in a jail that had not seen a suicide in the previous 21 years.

Epstein, 66, was discovered in his cell early Saturday morning after guards reportedly found him hanging in his cell in the special housing unit at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.

He was arrested July 6th on federal charges for operating a sex trafficking ring from 2002 to 2005 in his mansion in New York as well as his estate in Palm Beach, Florida, where he had allegedly paid girls as young as 14 for sex.

Epstein plead not guilty to the new charges against him, similar to those he was previously convicted of in a sweetheart deal that let him off the hook (the fallout of which led to the exiting of a senior Trump administration official, then district attorney).

New York City's chief medical examiner Barbara Sampson listed Epstein's death as "pending" after completing the autopsy on Sunday.

Erotic asphyxiation refers to intentionally cutting off oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal. It is also called asphyxiophilia, autoerotic asphyxia, scarfing, kotzwarraism, or breath control play.

Colloquially, a person engaging in the activity is sometimes called a "gasper." The erotic interest in asphyxiation is classified as a paraphilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. Psychiatrist Joseph Merlino stated that it meets the criteria for a disorder "because it has the potential for lethality or serious injury" [Ref].

Dear Desiree: Time for a walk on the weird side, kids. Autoerotic asphyxiation -- "suicide" is a misnomer, since death is usually accidental -- is in fact fairly common. One researcher estimates there are at least 50 deaths annually nationwide. The victims are mostly young males; evidently if you live long enough to become an old male you start getting a partner to help you, although it's quite dangerous even so.

Autoerotic asphyxiation arose out of the observation that men executed by hanging often got an erection and sometimes ejaculated. It's described in detail in de Sade's Justine and is mentioned in Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Why it works is unclear. The simplest explanation is that lack of oxygen causes lightheadedness, reducing inhibitions and enhancing the sexual experience. Masochistic fantasies, castration anxiety, and other psychological factors no doubt also play a role.

The problem is that it's easy to go too far. As little as seven pounds of pressure will collapse the carotid artery, producing unconsciousness within seconds. Many victims are bondage freaks and their elaborate bindings make self-rescue difficult.

Needless to say, this is not something you should try at home. Judging from the photos...not only do you end up dead, you look real stupid when they find you. I mention this on the theory that if fear of death won't stop somebody, maybe fear of embarrassment will. More>>

Family wants the FBI to investigate death
