(DW History and Culture) April 20, 2025: [Ah, the myths we spin and repeat. Idi Amin killed many more than Hitler, but no one mentions him because he was not promoting white supremacy or an Aryan "race" in doing it.] Today (4/20) is Adolf Hitler's birthday, so let's look back a little.
Did Al Gore just compare Don Trunf to Hitler?

01:04 Germany at the beginning of 1945
04:48 Prescribed Democracy - a recipe for success?
10:46 DeNazification - a new beginning?
13:54 Learnings from the past
With the invasion of neighboring Poland by the German armed forces in the fall of 1939, Germany ignited the Second World War. Six years of murder, destruction, expulsion and hunger shaped the fate of people in many parts of the world. In May 1945, the guns fell silent in Europe. Germany was allegedly defeated [except for those who traveled to New Swabia in the Antarctic and Argentina to live on, possibly still pulling strings and the levers of power].
It was an end and a beginning at the same time. But how did the political, social, and economic reconstruction take shape in post-war Germany? How did a dictatorship become a democracy? DW looks at the first years after the end of the war -- and the long road towards a new political order.

(Matt Walsh) Republican conservative Walsh calls Greta "insane" for believing that fish and animals have feelings (sentience or the ability to feel pain, pleasure, aversion, etc.), emotions (sentiments, attachments, bonds with others), thoughts (plans, intentions, will).
Greta Thunberg released a video in which she attacks factory farming and ends by asking what you will do about it. The answer is simple. Nothing. Watch the full episode
Only we have that, right? We're special, and all the other living things can go to h*ll. We'll help by sending them there, giving them a hell on earth, torture, separation, slaughter, and then throw 50% of them away as trash we didn't get around to eating. (Half the food in the U.S. goes to utter waste, being thrown out as garbage because of inefficiencies, labelling, mood, to show how rich we are, pickiness, and so on.
What do you have to say about it, Rancher Gore?
Vote Republican, F the world, and let the Christian God figure it out. We're not stewards of the planet but dominant with power over everything, and everything will die and be reduced to ashes in our scorched earth policy of living at the top of the food chaining, killing any and everything that dares to threaten us as we bang on our chests like naked apes.

"Open your eye" - Doctor Strange meets the Ancient One
ET photographed by Dr. Steven Greer (CE 5)
(BestScene) In 2016, Hollywood put out a Cumberbatch vehicle called Doctor Strange. Here is a film clip of the best scene in the whole convoluted story of a how a Marvel character came to be. This is the Marvel Universe, right? "Open your eye is a reference to our third eye located on our forehead between the other two, left and right, the dibba cakkhu or "divine eye," the subtle manifestation of the denser pineal gland, the magical set of rods and cones buried deep in the skull where it never sees ordinary light. But it can perceive something. What is it for? "Who are you in this vast multiverse?"
And by "we" we mean the whole of the nation. Thrust into fascism or duped into endless war under KD the go along? They're pulling out all the stops by inviting the candidate onto Saturday Night Live to stand next to Maya Rudolf who plays a more popular character called "Kamala Harris" than the self-proclaimed "Top Cop" and prosecuting attorney for the state. Is it fair? Sure, it's fair. Trump once went on a played a plumber in front of the whack character "Donald Trump" played by one of the cast. He was actually funny in a self-deprecating way, as if he clearly knows what he is (a big joke).
Opening monologue with bully and criminal billionaire New Yorker
Family Guy: "Republican Town"
(DJ Alexander) Brian Griffin, Rush Limbaugh, and Lois Griffin sing a song about a fictional heckhole called "Republican Town" on Fox TV's hit comedy series Family Guy.
Russian-American back-channel Stewart Swerdlow (expansions.com) has us all on alert for the election and the disappointment we face. The system is doing all it can to install KD Harris. But DJ is the ultimate disruptor with future Pres. JD. Will the Trumpet's heart give out, or will he go to jail to get out of the way of war and our war economy? Isn't that what Ms. Cheney really wants? What's that ahead, Project 2025?
C'mon, Gen Z, be like me! Get arrested by The Man in public. Sell books. Produce carbon.*
Stop making sense! I don't want to think! I like Greta and Gore. They're nice! Leave us alone!
GOP's D'Souza calls out Left for "Nazi tactics"
We wish Greta Thunberg were the real thing -- the same as we wished billionaire Al "I Give Up" Gore were honest in his making of An Inconvenient Truth. He left out the "inconvenient truth" that raising animals for slaughter is one of the world's worst causes of pollution.
But since the Gore family made its fortune by ranching (raising animals for slaughter with cesspools of their waste contaminating waterways and the environment, unthinkable animal suffering, the burning down of the Amazon rainforest to make way for pasture to feed American-inspired meat consumption rates and fast-food habit.
I need the money. Buy it.
Gore was called out for his hypocrisy for his mansion and heating bills, with the largest carbon footprint in the state. We live in a disposable culture, and Gore and Greta are symptoms. She was called out for taking planes all over, promoting her tinsel book. Gore sold his Current TV network to Al Jazeera. His motive? Millions.
We are radically left leaning liberals, and we love Mother Nature, and we want to save the environment and all the creatures in it (not eating flesh so that all may live in safety). Yet, we see through Greta being foisted on an unsuspecting public. And history tells us what a fake Gore was. He gave us George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, rolling over to hand them a stolen election. Them's is swamp politics. Trump isn't the first to complain. Black box voting machines, what a joke. Manipulation of the mainstream media, a bigger joke.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz DEBUNKS Israel’s LIES about Oct. 7th attacks
(The Jimmy Dore Show) The latest conflict with Hamas has led to a virtual tsunami of misinformation, disinformation (purposeful misinformation, public relations, narrative framing, and propaganda), and outright lies coming from Israeli authorities about Hamas/Al Qassam Brigades retaliation to Israel's apartheid, illegal occupation, and decades of atrocities, much of it repeated by an uninquisitive and uncritical corporate mainstream media.
Ex-VP almost-Pres. Al Gore, where should we get all our news?
But now one of Israel’s top newspapers, Haaretz, has published an exhaustive investigation into just some of those lies — "beheaded babies" [lies, not true], "disemboweled pregnant women" [atrocity propaganda, not true], "children burned alive" [by Israeli hellfire missile attacks on everyone present, Israeli or Palestinian, leaving them so charred that they could not be distinguished, which was used by Israel to pump up the numbers of Israelis killed to 1,400 but now the number is down to about 1,000 because those 400 were determined to be Palestinians murdered by the IDF], and so on — and the results are genuinely shocking. Some Jews tell the truth while the official Jewish news channels repeat IDF propaganda and Israeli lies, right wing Likud Party spin, and war criminal Netanyahu's incitements?
Jimmy Dore and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the gullibility with which the mainstream U.S. press seem to accept even the most outlandish claims spread as propaganda by Israeli authorities. #TheJimmyDoreShow

What is an "Engaged" Buddhist? Is the person about to get married? No, not necessarily. It is someone engaged in the world, aware of politics and the mundane nonsense that governs most of our lives. Protesters, helpers, trust spreaders concerned with saving lives, preserving our rights and health. There is a kind of approach to Buddhism (really, to any spiritual tradition apart from hedonism and maybe Satanism) that is reclusive, withdrawing, inward-turning. That is very important. But the world is still the world, and we are in the world. So it's important to know what's really going on. And more than anyone in the media, it seems Jimmy Dore is the annoying voice speaking truth to power. JP Sears? Redacted Tonight? Russell Brand? Democracy Now!? Joe Rogan? Lots of voices contribute, but Jimmy Dore rises above the rest.
CNN melts down over Cornel West running third party
(The Jimmy Dore Show) July 23, 2023. Democratic Party Operative James Carville is VERY unhappy that Prof. Cornel West is running for the Green Party presidential nomination, as he tells CIA Operative Anderson Cooper.
Black Dr. West threatens to take votes away from Democrats (and Joey, Kamala, Hillary, Gavin...), just like Ralph Nader and Jill Stein are alleged to have done before him, Carville states without offering up any actual evidence of the claim.
He then redbaits, Russiagates, and misrepresents the Green Party’s actions in the 2016 election.

(Vox) Heavy metal and Satan played a role in the introduction of the explicit lyrics sticker warning consumers on record albums.
Mara: "Listen to music, kids" - Krampus.

The explicit lyrics sticker is one of the most recognizable images in American music. Its placement on an album cover signifies you’re going to hear something for adult ears only, and it’s an image we often take for granted. It probably helps sales.
The story behind how we got that sticker is bonkers, to say the least.
The very public discussion around the advisory label involved the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), a group led by the wives of Washington politicians -- like Tipper Gore (Al Gore's wife) and a few musicians including Frank Zappa, Dee Snider, and John Denver.
While the PMRC’s involvement was allegedly sparked by some raunchy lyrics from Prince’s 1984 album Purple Rain, the debate over rock lyrics had been infiltrating American culture and politics for a decade.
The driving force behind that debate was the rise of heavy metal (and particularly the grindcore band Cannibal Corpse), a genre that saw explosive popularity with the launch of MTV in 1981, and the growing influence of the religious right, who saw rock music as a powerful threat to Christianity.
Some songs don't just stick in your head, they change the music world forever. Join Estelle Caswell on a musical journey to discover the stories behind favorite songs.

On October 7th, 1986, one of the most iconic records of a generation would send shockwaves through the music industry.
Finally, Beavis, something worth listening to!
It was such a controversial album, radio stations wouldn’t play it and Columbia Records refused to release it due to a song called "Angel of Death." Even when the record was released by Geffen, they refused to even put their logo on it.
That album would be called Reign in Blood by Slayer. Arguably the most influential thrash metal band of all time.
They’ve been attacked by religious groups, accused of being Satanic and faced a lawsuit that involved murder. Yet despite this, they are now a household name with 12 studio albums under their belt, millions of records sold worldwide, and a legacy that will surely live on through the ages.
Tori Amos improves on the hit song by switching perspective
Slayer's album covers alone were enough to trigger backlash from labels, parents, and Christian groups around the world, some of their song titles and lyrics would even have them pinned as Nazi sympathizers. We’ve seen similar stories about bands having links to Satanism when Black Sabbath arrived in 1968 and KISS in 1973 when people thought it was an acronym for "Knights In Satan's Service."
Slayer, however, played this to their advantage, they wanted to shock people, they wanted to stand out from the crowd, that’s exactly what they did, and this is their story.
Who can say what the world's best worst music is? With bands like Deicide, The Agonist, Die Antwoord, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, and Taylor Swift, it's too hard to decide.
But censorship expert Tipper Gore (Al Gore's trophy wife) helped form the PMRC, to meddle in kids' music. Parents and music industry corporate lawyers joined forces to change nothing, but some labels were added to things.
And back then it was mostly filthy Black rappers with their obscenities and overtly sexual lyrics. But there was one stand out band on every "Bands to Ban" list, and that was Cannibal Corpse, white potheads from New York and Florida, bringing horror films to life.
What would a real corpse even look like?
"Hammer Smashed Face" became the greatest hit in the genre of grindcore/death metal, the fastest, most vicious, most offensive music anyone could think to make at the time.
And this makes them our choice for world's most horrifying band, even after cutting the leading force and innovator Chris Barnes for George "Copycat" Fischer, who did more to grind up and serve the Corpse than come up with anything new.
We blame abuse of this medicinal plant.
For new stuff, one had to resort to Six Feet Under and other bands like the amazing Carcass or Barney's Napalm Death. There must be other bands, more evil, more sinister, more subversive (like A**l C**t and that funny album of love songs), but this whole genre is harmony-destroying thrash-and-burn manna from heaven.

Is this the "too gruesome" photo to be released by the US government to "prove" Osama bin Laden was shot in the head by a proud Navy Seal Team 6 assassin in Pakistan two days ago?
“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.” - Jessica Dovey
The raging debate over whether the death photos of Osama bin Laden should be released or not to quell rumors has unknowingly only managed to strengthen the voice of conspiracy theorists. Top White House officials and lawmakers are divided... The "gruesome" and "morbid" photos allegedly show a bloodied face of bin Laden with a part of his head blown off and brain exposed. Osama bin Laden was allegedly shot in the forehead and chest.
What is DARPA? It's a secretive government agency, a real Department of Mad Scientists. It's involved in visionary war technology, UFO production, reverse-engineering, and the funding of "mad scientists."
DARPA stands for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and like NASA (its larger sister organization), it is militarizing space. It is engaged in chemtrail research, psychic phenomena, and Black Ops (highly classified and often illegal military projects).
ARPA invented the Internet, which began in 1969 with an email message between UCLA and Stanford University, both in California. (APRA is the same organization before it was taken over by the Defense industry). Hear Southern California Public Radio's President's Day interview with the author of The Department of Mad Scientists, Michael Belfiore.
Move over Al Gore, the Internet was invented in a dark corner of the U.S. government known as DARPA. The name may sound clunky and dull, yet their research is anything but. From cars that drive themselves to self-guided bullets, Belfiore peered behind the curtain and returned with the inside scoop on many of DARPA’s projects, past and present, in The Department of Mad Scientists: How DARPA is Remaking our World, from the Internet to Artificial Limbs".
(AP, Dec. 12, 2009) Tens of thousands of protesters marched in Copenhagen, Denmark and at least 600 were detained Saturday as climate talks hit a snag over rich nations' demands on China and other emerging economies.
Creator of “Beavis and Butt-Head” and “King of the Hill” has a new focus: Environmentalists
Director Mike Judge’s new animated TV series “The Goode Family” is a send-up of a clan of environmentalists who live by the words “What would Al Gore do?” Gerald and Helen Goode want nothing more than to minimize their carbon footprint. They feed their dog, Che, only veggies (much to the pet’s dismay) and Mr. Goode dutifully separates sheets of toilet paper when his wife accidentally buys two-ply. And, of course, the family drives a hybrid.More>>

BANGKOK – Southeast Asia will be hit particularly hard by climate change, causing the region's agriculture-dependent economies to contract by as much as 6.7 percent annually by the end of the century, according to a study released Monday.
The Asian Development Bank study focused on Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Those countries are especially vulnerable because they have large coastal populations facing rising sea levels and rely heavily on rice and other agriculture products which could suffer from water shortages as well as floods. Vietnam was found to be the most vulnerable.
"Climate change seriously threatens Southeast Asia's families, food supplies and financial prosperity," said Ursula Schaefer-Preuss, the ADB's vice president for knowledge management and sustainable development. "If Southeast Asian nations delay action on climate change, their economies and people will ultimately suffer."
If nothing is done to combat global warming, the report said that by 2100 the four Asian countries would see temperatures rise an average of 8.6 Fahrenheit (4.8 Celsius) from the 1990 level. They would also likely suffer drops in rainfall leading to worsening droughts and more forest fires, more destructive tropical storms and flooding from rising seas that could displace millions of people and lead to the destruction of 965 square miles (2,500 square kilometers) of mangroves.
The economic cost, according to the report, would be... More>>
