So genocide talk is permissible and not at all antisemitic (bearing in mind that Middle Eastern Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims from that region of the world are all Semites, just like the Jews) -- when a prominent American Jew in the right wing media says it.

But if teenagers in college chant "From the desert to the sea, Palestine will be free," somehow that's antisemitic and advocating for genocide. The Israeli military is killing, clearing, and cleansing its Israel out of their Palestine. They're not merely chanting. The IDF is killing and terrorizing a people it seeks to exterminate or drive into the sea or Egypt's Sinai Desert to starve to death or build themselves a homeland and state like Israel did. Israel will provide arms to defeat Egypt if it has a problem with it, just as the U.S., U.K., and E.U. Ben Shapiro is a lawyer or was a law student, now a fast-talking radio mouthpiece for extremist pro-Semitic and white supremacist views. But being a Jew makes it okay in the eyes of our Jewish-controlled legal system and watchdog groups.

The Buddha explains the two nirvana (Pali nibbāna) elements. [Nirvana, because it does not depend on any causes, conditions, or constituent factors is known uniquely as the "unconditioned element" and the "deathless" (amata)].

This sutra was taught by the Blessed One, taught by the fully Enlightened One, the supremely awakened Buddha.

Meditators (monastics), there are two nirvanas.

Thus have I heard: “Meditators, there are these two nirvana elements. What are the two? The first is the nirvana element with residue remaining (sōpādisesa nibbāna) and the second is the nirvana element free of any residue remaining (anupādisesa nibbāna).

“What, meditators, is the nirvana element with residue remaining?

“Here, meditators, a meditator is

• a liberated one,
• one whose taints are destroyed,
• the path to [the complete freedom of] nirvana fulfilled,
• has finished the task [necessary] for liberation,
• has laid down the burden of the defilements,
• has by gradual [and balanced effort] attained the supreme goal,
• has destroyed the fetters binding one to again-becoming [rebirth], and
• is completely liberated through true knowledge.

“Furthermore, one's five sense faculties remain functioning.

“Since they still function, one experiences contact with pleasant and unpleasant objects and is aware of pleasure and pain. But passion (greed), aversion (hatred), and delusion [ignorance regarding the Four Ennobling Truths] have been removed completely from the mind. Meditators, this is called the nirvana element with residue remaining.

“And what, meditators, is the nirvana element free of any remaining residue?

“Meditators, here [in this Doctrine and Discipline] a meditator is a liberated one, one whose taints are destroyed, the path to [the freedom of] nirvana fulfilled, has finished the task [necessary] for liberation, has laid down the burden of the defilements, has by gradual [and balanced effort] attained the supreme goal, has destroyed the fetters binding one to again-becoming, and is completely liberated by true knowledge.

“In that liberated one’s life, all feelings that are experienced -- not being delighted in with craving [and clinging] -- will cool down here in this very life, with the attainment of nirvana at passing away. Meditators, this is called the nirvana element free of any remaining residue.

“Meditators, these are the two nirvana elements.”

This is the meaning of what the Blessed One said. So with regard to this, it was said: These two nirvana elements were proclaimed by the one with eyes of Dharma, the one detached from all defilements, the Buddha [Awakened One], who has an unshaken mind.

The first nirvana element is experienced here in this life with residue remaining -- inasmuch as the defilements that lead to rebirth are now destroyed.

The second nirvana element has no residue remaining and leads to the cessation of all rebirth and suffering. This element is experienced as one passes away.

Having destroyed all craving, the cord of clinging to becoming, having experienced the unconditioned element, nirvana, the enlightened ones (arya, the noble ones) live with liberated minds/hearts.

Having attained the Dharma-essence, they delight in the destruction of defilements, nirvana. The Liberated Ones with unshaken minds have removed completely all further suffering (dukkha, disappointment) and rebirth. This, too, is the meaning of what was said by the Blessed One. This is exactly as I heard.

COMMENTARY

Nirvana is not like this! - Yeah, but...

But what does it mean? What is "nirvana"? It is more than the mere absence of all suffering. According to the meticulous research of American Theravada Buddhist scholar-monk Bhikkhu Bodhi (formerly Dr. Jeffrey Block, Ph.D.), nirvana is an truly existing reality. It is not nothingness, as so many foolishly conclude based on its customary negative framing as not this and not that.

It is phrased in this way because it is unlike anything else. There is nothing to compare it to. But the Buddha did liken it to some things we could understand -- peace, ultimate bliss, the end of suffering, and so on. It is the "deathless" (amata, amrita, ambrosia). Yet it is not the "eternal life" of Hinduism and Christianity.

See Bhikkhu Bodhi's As It Is recording called Nibbana (the Pali word for the Sanskrit nirvana) for his extensive elaboration on the unconditioned element, the only thing that is not a "[conditioned, composite] thing." It is independent. It stands alone. And it is liberation (moksha), freedom (vimutti), the end of all rebirth and dukkha.

So the two types, with residue remaining and free of any further residue, is easy to understand. While nirvana (having reached full enlightenment) means the end of all further rebirth, it does not mean the end of this rebirth, this lifespan. One lives it out, still in the world, but now no longer trapped by it. Here "the world" means all states.

We may compare this to the Christian notion of being in world but not of the world, but in that case "the world" means just this human state. Nirvana is not a heaven. There are heavens attainable by rebirth. Living beings have been there in this endless round of rebirth known as samsara.

The Buddha recognized that no heaven is really the end of suffering because -- as long as they may last, and some last a tremendously long time, or as blissful as they may be -- they come to an end. The wholesome karma that conditioned them (acts as a support) is eventually exhausted and one falls from that state to experience the results of other often less pleasant karmic results.

Mrs. Ilse Koch: Nazi guard and sexual deviant

(World History) Buchenwald & Sachsenhausen - Holocaust. Oct. 16, 2022. Mrs. Ilse Koch was born Margarete Ilse Köhler on Sept. 22, 1906, in Dresden.

In 1932, one year before Adolf Hitler and his Nazi (National Socialist) Party came into power, Koch had joined the Nazi Party. In 1936, she got married to the commandant of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, Karl Otto Koch.

Ilse Koch worked at Sachsenhausen as a guard and secretary. In August 1937, Karl Otto was assigned to build a new concentration camp in Buchenwald. While he was known for his personal greed in the camps that he worked in, she was feared for her brutality. At Buchenwald, she became known as "the witch."

She was obsessed with tattoos and used to ride her horse around the Buchenwald looking for tattooed prisoners. When she found one, she sent them to their death. But before they were killed and burned, she would cut out the part of the skin where the tattoo was located. She used to call these pieces of skin her “trophies,” as serial killers are in the habit of collecting.

She would go on to collect lampshades, book covers, as well as gloves and handbags – all made of human skin. She shared her obsession with tattoos with Dr. Erich Wagner, allegedly her secret lover, who wanted to find the connection between tattoos and criminal tendencies.

Despite having three of her own children, she hated pregnant women and she used to beat them with a whip along the entire length of which pieces of a razor were inserted. Koch allegedly also found pleasure in beating child inmates. She would laugh loudly when seeing them going to the gas chambers [to be deloused].

She was also a sexual deviant. She not only organized numerous orgies with SS men and their wives but also allegedly forced Jewish male prisoners to rape female prisoners in front of her.

She is said to have enjoyed walking around the camp half naked or in skimpy clothes, provoking prisoners to make eye contact with her. When they did, they were taken by the guards and shot in the head.

It was also reported that she had ordered prisoners to serve her while she was nude and enjoyed sexually humiliating the sex-starved prisoners.

In 1941, Buchenwald caught the attention of the Higher SS and Police Leader for Weimar Josias Waldeck, who in this position had supervisory authority over Buchenwald Concentration Camp.

Ilse Koch was accused of the embezzlement of over 700,000 Reichsmarks, and Karl Otto Koch was charged with both embezzlement and the unauthorized murder of three prisoners.

When it was revealed that the Kochs had used the massive Nazi apparatus to gain an enormous amount of wealth, their downfall became inevitable as all the possessions stolen from murdered Jews was regarded as the property of Hitler's Reich.

While she was acquitted for lack of evidence, Karl Otto Koch was executed by firing squad on April 5, 1945. The Buchenwald Camp, the location of Koch’s alleged atrocities, was liberated later in April of 1945.

Ilse Koch was then tried at the Buchenwald trial, which began on April 11, 1947, in the internment camp of Dachau, where the former Dachau Concentration Camp had been located until late April 1945.

Out of 31 defendants, Ilse Koch was the only woman. She was sentenced to life imprisonment, and her son Uwe, conceived while in custody, was born in October 1947.

Uwe’s father was another German prisoner. Her sentence was initially commuted to four years, but after a general outcry, she was immediately indicted by a German court for instigation to murder in 135 cases. The hearing of the second rrial opened on Nov. 27, 1950, and lasted seven weeks, during which 250 witnesses were heard, including 50 for the defense.

Koch collapsed and had to be carried from court in late December 1950 and again in January 1951. At least four witnesses for the prosecution testified that they had seen Koch choose tattooed prisoners, who were then killed, or had seen or been involved in the process of making human-skin lampshades from tattooed skin.

When on Jan. 15, 1951, the court pronounced its verdict in a 111-page-long decision sentencing Ilse Koch to life imprisonment, she was not present in court. She made several petitions for a pardon, all of which were rejected by the Bavarian Ministry of Justice.

Ilse Koch was 60 years old when she hanged herself with a bedsheet after which she was buried in an unmarked grave. There were no tears shed for Ilse Koch.
