Five major religions in the world (TED)

Let's all get along and understand each other because The End is Near (This Modern World)

The five major world religions - John Bellaimey
(TED-Ed, 11/14/13) Explore the intertwined histories and cultures of the major religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism, Judaism.
There are many beautiful religions in the world
  • [Only three of these are actually "world" religions, as the other two do not spread to different cultures, get adapted by eager converts, or have a long history of missionary activity. Buddhism seems small by the official count because left out of that count are the one billion Chinese Buddhists in officially atheist Communist China].
It's perfectly human to grapple with questions, like "Where do we come from?" and "How do I live a life of meaning?" These existential questions are central to the five major world religions -- and that's not all that connects these spiritual traditions.

John Bellaimey explains the intertwined histories and cultures of Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. A lesson by John Bellaimey with animation by TED-Ed.
