CP headline: "Iraq War Ends" presaged actual wrap up that takes place today, while MIC develops pretext and readies for war on Iran. The "embassy" (military base, private contractor residences) we built ensure we are not really "leaving" (w.i.a.c.)
It's official: US ends Iraq War
Unofficially, it's still on. But after nearly 9 years and more than a million civilian deaths and countless injuries, mere "collateral damage" neither carefully counted nor a matter of great concern to war planners who were aiming at destroying infrastructure that was sure to harm civilians, but almost 4,500 precious deaths of imperial US invaders, the American government officially marked the end of its military-industrial complex (MIC) war today, Dec. 15, 2011.
About 1.5 million Americans have engaged in our preemptive war on Iraq, and 1.5 million have been injured (only a few tens of thousands with physical scars). Motives? Oil, money, full spectrum dominance of the Middle East, propping the greenback as the de facto world currency, revenge, or war because war is how the MIC thrives. "War, what is it good for?" Lots of things, none of them "good," but then again it depends on how one defines good. It's good for business, the war ("defense") industry, multinational corporations...
B.S. Obama welcomed some troops home yesterday. We leave behind the world's largest "embassy." Mesopotamia, with one of the Gardens of Eden, has always been important here and above, at least since the time of Sumer.
Iraqis unable to defend borders as US exits, but that is their fault for not granting us immunity from prosecution for war crimes. If they had, we would stay on in full number committing more war crimes and "defending" their borders from hostile neighbors eager to take advantage of the weak state we are leaving them in.
Long ago we, the Bush-Dick-Colon Administration, would not take yes for an answer with regard to inspections for weapons of mass destruction. Sodom Hussein should have said yes sooner, so we bombed this biblical land back to the Stone Age. True, we didn't find any WMDs. But we did almost plant some. What does it matter? We got the oil. Oh, look over there, war in Afghanistan. And, oh no, Osama bin Laden is going to get us. And the wars continue because our imperial MIC is far from getting its fill.
In fact, the war we had there so that it would not come here has been brought here by us anyway: Spy drones are being used by police on citizens in the US. And more are coming online all the time. We already endure illegal Homeland Security, TSA, FBI, iPhone, CIA, NSC, NSA, Facebook, Secret Service, state and local police, and Pentagon spying. So what are some drones if you have nothing to hide?
Oh, Facebook is such a radical tool for activists; never mind that so many FBI and CIA agents work there, or that it helps the US government gain full spectrum dominance.
