MSNBC military analyst Gen. Barry McCaffrey (retired) says the alleged shooting of Afghan civilians by a US soldier is a "further unraveling" of relations between the US and Afghanistan. NATO calls the attack "appalling" and said it was in no way part of its authorized activities.

Why things happen
Why would such a thing happen? Why does the CIA and other more secret clandestine services, who aim and intend to prolong and expand US wars across the globe, orchestrate such "random" attacks? It is speculated that while politicians may need to speak the language of withdrawal, appeasement, and maybe even "nation building" reparations, the military-industrial complex (CIA, NSC, NSA, FBI, Pentagon, multinational corporations, etc.) wants war and more of it. War is far more profitable than peace when moral considerations are manipulated or left out of the conversation altogether.
So one may expect more "terrorist" and incendiary acts at crucial times when peace is hoped for. The difference this time is rather than getting a secret group of well trained elite soldiers and a cadre of PsyOps propagandists together to launch a covert action, a Manchurian candidate or disgruntled trainee under someone else's control is used to bring disrepute and anger at American troops. A compliant set of troops left to bear the brunt of the blame while themselves being left in the dark.

Just as soldier-prison guards at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo (Guantanamo Bay) did not know what would offend and provoke Muslim indefinite-detainees most until they were explicitly trained by FBI and other agents, US G.I.s did not know what burning copies of the Koran would entail as fallout. It is no "accident" or "oversight." Nor is it a rogue action by individuals. Someone is provoking sides, instigating acts of war, to prolong the occupation. The MIC does not want to leave Iraq, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Somalia, or America's longest running war, our state-sanctioned terror in Afghanistan.
