Can Buddhist monks be mean or angry? They sure can. We all can...until we're enlightened. Awakening purifies view not personality, so we may retain our characteristics and customs, but the defilements of passion, aversion (like anger and fear), and delusion are eradicated.
Anger Management is an American buddy comedy film directed by Peter Segal and written by David S. Dorfman. It stars Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, Marisa Tomei, Luis Guzmán, Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly, and John Turturro.
It tells the story of a businessman who is sentenced to an anger management program under a renowned therapist with unconventional methods. Anger Management was released in theaters in the US in April of 2003 by Columbia Pictures and received mixed reviews from critics. It cost $75 million to make, and it made money.
John C. Reilly went on to become a Buddhist it seems, directing a kind of Jesus Christ Superstar play about Siddhartha Gautama, Buddha: A Fantastic Journey, which should have been made into a famous Hollywood musical. But it seems the studios haven't picked it up yet.
