Native Plant Garden Tour, LA (April 23-24)

Theodore Payne Foundation (theodorepayne.org); Xochitl, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
The TP "Native Plant Garden Tour" is back live in-person! Journey through the heart of Los Angeles to meet the plants and people that make Southern California one of the most biodiverse places on the face of the planet. The 2022 lineup includes:
  • more than ten gardens brand new to the tour,
  • returning favorites,
  • and an after-party at LA State Historic Park.
  • Where to buy tickets
Last year (2021) was tragic, but only online in a boring Zoom meeting

Wisdom of the First Nations
The Foundation acknowledges that it sits on the traditional [Native American] village of Wiqánga, the ancestral home of the Wiqánvitam, who are now known as the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians.

Also acknowledged are neighbors the Tongva (Kizh), Chumash, Tataviam, Kitanemuk, and Serrano, the original stewards of what is now Los Angeles County. The Foundation is committed to uplifting the names of these lands and community members from the over 200 California First Nations, who reside alongside newer residents, and honor their Traditional Ecological Knowledge.
