How magic mushrooms rewire brain

(North Spore) How scientists believe psilocybin (4-PO-DMT, dimethyltryptamine, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) rewires the human brain.

Could the same heightened experiences be achieved with stability and not freaking out?

This isn't about tripping b*lls but access to mind.
The body has a pineal gland, possibly the physical base of the mythical third or "divine eye," the dibba cakkhu in Buddhist psychological terms. The endogenous product it makes is DMT, the same active ingredient in entheogens, substances capable of bringing out (manifesting) the divine within. We as ordinary human beings have the capacity for divinity -- for being reborn as devas or even experiencing what brahmas experience all the time, namely, the Four Divine Abidings the Buddha recommended, and exhibiting the magical powers they customarily wield. One of these powers is extrasensory perception or the use of the divine senses.

Mind expansion for awareness

Try psychedelics. Access transcendence. | James Fadiman
(Big Think) Expert James Fadiman explains how psychedelics (entheogens) have the power to expand consciousness, enhance creativity, and deepen our connections to the world around us.
James Fadiman, a distinguished figure with over six decades in psychedelic research, examines the profound impact psychedelics have on consciousness, creativity, and connectivity. Fadiman shares insights into how these substances shift perception, offering perspectives that challenge and expand our understanding of reality.

Reduce activity in the DMN to pause ego-delusion

He also delves into the scientific underpinnings of psychedelics, their therapeutic potential, and the societal benefits of fostering deeper empathy and open-mindedness.

Highlighting the importance of integration post-experience, Fadiman sheds light on the transformative power of psychedelics to not only alter individual consciousness but also to enhance community bonds and personal relationships.

Through a focus on responsible use and the expansion of human awareness, Fadiman's expertise offers a compelling view into the capacity of psychedelics to redefine our interaction with the world and ourselves.

How to fully live now (Alan Watts)

How to be fully alive now - Alan Watts
(After Skool) Jan. 7, 2025: In this animation, Alan Watts explains how most of us are failing to experience the reality of life for what it really is. We get so caught up in language, ego, time, money, "problems," and distractions that we miss the beauty of the present moment -- the eternal Now. It's an inspirational and profound speech on the real and tangible here and now. What were we previously thinking, carrying on and going about on autopilot?

WARNING: This is NOT a test run. This is your real life. Live.

Trees have a "heartbeat," scientific study finds

Researchers discover that trees have a "heartbeat," it's just so slow we've never noticed before.

Trees hold a special place in our hearts, as they possess a longevity that surpasses most other creatures.

These remarkable organisms can live for thousands upon thousands of years. In fact, the oldest recorded tree boasted an incredible age of over 5,000 years!

Its roots reached back to a time when Rome stood at the peak of its glory -- an inspiring testament to the longevity of trees, making them some of the oldest living beings on our planet.

We acknowledge that trees are alive, for they harness energy to sustain their existence [and ours]. Though they lack the organs found in mammals like us, trees possess their own unique set of structures that enable their survival.

But being alive, do they possess a heartbeat?

Mystery of the Heartbeat
While trees do not possess a heart in the same way humans do, the idea of them having their own rhythm and pulsation is not as far-fetched as it might seem.

A recent study conducted by András Zlinszky, Bence Molnár, and Anders S. Barfod from Hungary and Denmark has shed light on an extraordinary aspect of trees: They possess a special type of pulsation akin to a heartbeat. More

It’s called microdosing, and according to one North County mom who does it, it’s growing in popularity in San Diego, California. Mikaela, who asked that we not use her last name, knows what she’s doing is [on its way to decriminalization but still] illegal [because she's pregnant].
