Heavy rains turned the Nevada playa ("beach") into a seven-mile-wide mud pit, swallowing bikes, stranding vehicles, and forcing everyone to walk and gates to close once again.

One man was airlifted after a suspected electrocution in the flooded desert [from electrical equipment getting wet and people going barefoot], while thousands more struggled through the bone-chilling nights, abandoned bicycles, and mud-soaked shelters.

With all passenger flights grounded, cars stuck axle-deep, and festivalgoers posting desperate updates, Burning Man 2025 is being called one of the most miserable editions in its history.

First of all, what is an "Orgy Dome"? That's kind of hard to explain. It's sort of like this dome, a tent, with an orgy inside, and by orgy we mean a consensual communal experience with probably more sand and grit than anyone would ideally want to be present at a time like this. Bring wipes. Maybe Diddly brand coconut oil, too. No, no, no oil, but water-based lube. And be very MINDFUL. There are Ten Principles to follow in general and special safe practices, consenting obligations, and lots of checking in to make sure everyone is all right and enjoying it.

A massive rainstorm hit the playa, flooding everything and turning Black Rock City into deep, sticky clay mud. I was trapped inside my tent for hours, unable to move my bike or even walk through the sludge.

In this daily vlog, I share what it was really like being stuck in the rain and mud, how I managed to stay (somewhat) dry, and the chaos happening all around camp.

At the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, wind gusts had already reached around 30 miles per hour as of 10:00 am, Meteorologist Matthew Chyba at the weather service told SF Gate.

Average travel time to leave the event was around three hours as of Monday morning, according to several posts on X (Twitter). One recent ex/tweet read:

"Average travel time for Greeters to Black top is 5h 50m. All lanes are designated outbound early. The speed limit is 5mph."

According to NWS, the area will have lows around 53 degrees Monday night with wind gusts between 10 and 15 miles per hour, with the strongest hitting around 30 miles per hour. In the day Reno is expected to hit temperatures of around 90 degrees.
