After Burning Man: 'It was better next year'

Burning Man 2025: It Was Better Next Year

So what if I became a MAGA Trump Republican
(Wonderhussy Adventures) Sept. 3, 2025: Welcome to Wonderhussy's Adventure #879. The date this adventure began was August 21, 2025, for the road trip.

I'm here to worship Luna the Moon
By now we’ve seen the news footage of the terrible storms that destroyed much of Burning Man 2025 — including, infamously, the beloved Orgy Dome [not to mention the murder, electrocution, and other disasters]! But was the event a total sh💩tshow?
Come with me, Wonderhussy, and find out what it was REALLY like at the Hair of the Dog in Black Rock City, Nevada, this year.

It's time to get vaginal with Wonder Hussy, Elon!
Please consider helping the good people of Hair of the Dog buy new support poles and tarps to replace the ones damaged in the storm: gofundme.com/f/rebuild-ha... Check out my website: wonderhussy.com. Support the channel: wonderhussy.

Burning Man Day 4: Orgy Dome, mud

Art, creativity, and awe - it's all here.
What really happens at Burning Man? Everything's free, life lived by principles, not a music festival but rather a festival of lights and lifestyle, standup comedy, Orgy Dome, acid (LSD) trip, the afterglow, Buddhist insight: "Desire what you don't have a little less, desire more what you do have." Put the phone away. Ride a bike. Stare at the sky and into different dimensions that are just as far away as the doors of the perception. Mario Adrion explains, concluding, "Namaste, b*tches."

24 hours at Burning Man 2025 – Daily Playa Survival Vlog

(Escaping Normal Life) Aug. 28, 2025: In this daily playa survival vlog, I go inside the heart of Black Rock City – where 70,000 people come together in the Nevada desert to create the most unbelievable temporary city on Earth.

🌵✨ Yes, it's muddy and messy, but that doesn’t stop the fun, the phenomenal art, massive sound camps, live music, free spa treatments, caked mud, no showers, and unbelievable energy all around.

Beyond the parties, Burning Man is also a place for self-growth, spirituality, and community – with religious temples, AA meetings, weddings, families, kids, and powerful moments of togetherness that make this city feel like home.

Too often, people focus only on the negatives, but the truth is Burning Man is a functioning city full of creativity, connection, and human spirit. Join me for 24 hours of survival, dust, mud, art, music, and magic at Burning Man 2025! Venmo: venmo.com/u/escaping_normal_life

Dalai Lama in SoCal: the sand mandala

The 14th Dalai Lama, left, with Tibetan monk Ven. Sherab Chopel, the principal artist who created the mandala, view it together during a private event in Irvine. The sand mandala was created to commemorate the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday (Francine Orr/LATimes.com).

(L.A. Now) Creating a mandala is as painstaking as it is beautiful. Grain by grain, two Tibetan monks meticulously placed colored sand during the last two weeks on the campus of UC Irvine, forming a brightly hued pattern that's said to attract "loving-kindness."

This particular mandala depicts the celestial home of Avalokiteshvara, the [Bodhisattva] of compassion. It was created to commemorate the 80th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama, whom Tibetan Buddhists revere as a living embodiment of Avalokiteshvara [transformed or embodied as the Goddess Kwan Yin].

The site at UC Irvine was chosen because it will become the new home of the Center for Living Peace, a nonprofit that sponsored the Dalai Lama's visit this week to Orange County.

The monks' diligent work -- from 9:00 am to midnight, for 10 days -- climaxed Tuesday morning, when the Dalai Lama blessed it. He studied the mandala with the principal artist, a Tibetan monk named Ven. Sherab Chopel.

In time, the mandala will be destroyed. Monks will sweep the sand and return it to the [Pacific] ocean [to send loving-kindness and blessings in all directions].

Unlike so many art forms, it's an exercise in impermanence and the ephemeral. The mandala shows four arms, which organizers said symbolize the qualities required for enlightenment: joy, equanimity, loving-kindness, and compassion.

Perhaps there's a fifth quality [such as a sense of humor].

During the private gathering, the Dalai Lama paused and without provocation, looked directly at Los Angeles Times photojournalist Francine Orr, saying, "Compassion without wisdom is nothing." More
Times staff writer Sarah Parvini contributed to this report.

China to stop Tibet desertification by 2010

BEIJING (AFP) — Authorities in China aim to halt the spread of the desert in Tibet by next year, hoping to stem the effects of years of mining, tree-felling, and overgrazing, state media reported.

Desertification is spreading by 98,000 acres (39,600 hectares) annually in Tibet, an official from the regional forestry bureau was quoted as saying by the Xinhua news agency.

Sangye Drawa said Tibetan authorities were trying to curb the spread with afforestation program by closing some grasslands to herders. "By 2010, we hope to achieve zero growth in deserts and by 2020, half of the desertified land that can still be reversed will be fixed," he was quoted as saying.

Sangye Drawa said that desertified land, which currently covers 18 percent of the Himalayan plateau, was caused by dry weather and a lack of forests, according to the report. He also attributed it to overgrazing, tree-felling, and mining.

Tibet is not the only region in China to suffer from the problem -- the capital Beijing is plagued with regular sandstorms that scientists say are caused by desertification in the northern part of the country. Source
