Can DOGS talk? Plants feel and talk (NOVA PBS)

Can Dogs Talk? | full documentary | NOVA | PBS

Of course we can talk! Are y'all deaf?
(NOVA PBS Official) Premiered Feb. 4, 2026: Do speech buttons really allow dogs to talk to us? Scientists investigate.

Imagine a world where our furry best friends could tell us exactly what they're thinking. A growing number of dog owners claim this is already happening, thanks to innovative word buttons that seem to unlock a new realm of canine communication.

What is it, Fido? - Umm, you gonna eat that?
But are these dogs truly understanding what we’re saying — and talking back? Are they really thinking creatively, applying words in new contexts? Or is this just clever conditioning?

What is he trying to say, Venerable? - He's tired during our 2,300-mile Peace Walk.
.
We've been talking all along.
To find out, scientists are conducting the largest animal communication study in history, analyzing millions of button presses from thousands of dogs worldwide.

Witness astonishing moments that challenge our assumptions about animal intelligence, from dogs that seem to engage in conversations to those who learn new words with incredible speed.

Viewers must prepare to question everything they thought they knew about the minds of dogs and discover just how far their linguistic abilities might stretch.

Wisdom Quarterly COMMENTARY
With the vine of the dead and two other MAOI inhibitory plants allow me to see the unseen.
.
"Be more empathetic," Canny the cannabis says
Plants can "scream" and can ooze scents when their leaves are munched. But what good does it do? It is communicating with other plants and with helpful predators (like birds) to come eat the offending caterpillars or bugs eating them.

When plants hear a fellow plant in distress, they respond by producing terpenes, alkaloids, and bitter chemicals to dissuade creatures from eating them.

What's in ayahuasca? Just plants and their DMT
Who knows, as with frog venom (Bufo), perhaps the stress leads plants to produce cannabinoids (like THC and CBD, which have been shown to significantly increase empathy in people*) and DMT ("the spirit molecule") to exhibit more empathy from predators to stop eating them.

How about you tell your dad not to slaughter me, and I'll give your family milk in return?
.
My daughter says we're going vegan.
Why do cows moo and scream before slaughter if not to let killers know not to kill them because they are experiencing great fear and pain?

Similarly, the stress chemicals that go into their tissue as they die in great stress are consumed by meat eaters and have an addictive stimulant action.

This is almost certainly why in Voodoo and Santeria and the "dark arts" of French New Orleans, priests and priestesses in scary rituals dance around provoking chickens before slaughtering them (to the delight of invisible and inimical ghouls) and then drinking their blood.

Poppy flowers pack a surprise when injured.
That blood is now full of distress compounds like adrenaline (and adrenochrome, which Q fans will know also comes from scared children), cortisol (hormone), and near-death experience compounds (possibly endogenous DMT) from the animal's pineal gland. What a way to trip, intoxicated in the ancient world.

So it serves an obvious purpose to communicate and sense the forest and field of a changing environment.

Plants surround themselves with a "fog" of scents (plant volatile compounds) to communicate with each other all of the time by odor.

"Consciousness"?
Of course I'm sensate! Y'all are deaf and blind!
This means plants can
  1. hear (the humming of bees, to which they respond by increasing the sweetness of their nectar),
  2. smell,
  3. experience tactile sensations (like being torn apart by bugs),
  4. evaluate (think/calculate/figure -- respond to their environment),
  5. see light in different waves (attracting and reflecting waves to their advantage; e.g., when flowers do not seem bright to us due to our eyesight and sensitivity, they are florescent and throbbing to insects and their eyesight and range because the plants are trying to attract useful pollinators), and when they are the different shades of green, as is seen in lush Ireland with all its deva plant helpers (the fae, sidhe, and wee folk), and some oddly colored varieties of seaweed, which are not all bright green but vary according to depth and surroundings to maximize the wavelengths of sunlight they absorb.
The jungle is alive, literally alive
Plants have all the rudimentary forms of consciousness. Why? The ability to sense and respond to one's environment is a kind of "consciousness." And plants possess it, as Dr. J. C. Bose proved long ago, which led to the book The Secret Lives of Plants.

That book does not limit this kind of basic consciousness to plants but to microscopic creatures -- some of them blending plant and animal features, like bodies with purposeful motility and the presence of chlorophyll. Look at algae through a microscope. They are little green bugs. Spirulina, chlorella, blue-green algae, plankton, it's all alive. Mats and sheets on water, all alive, and "vegetal," which like the word "vegetarian" means not coming from or subsisting on vegetables but "growing."

In the studies cited in The Secret Life of Plants, someone tossed a hot drink down the sink. The scalded bacteria, biofilm, algae, or whatever it was growing in the sink "screamed." The plants heard it and reacted to it on the Bose instruments. The researchers realized the implications: it wasn't just big green plants in the room who could sense. It was the microscopic green world, too. What about fungi?

The effects of mushrooms, the fruiting bodies of the almighty mycelia, are legendary. What are these plants communicating to each other and as the original web and internet of plants? The forest utterly depends on the mycelium growing among the roots of trees, transporting nutrients, moisture, and sugars between species of trees, making what we see as stands of trees possible. Interspecies communication exists. (Even some humans can do it, animal psychics and shamans connecting to animal and plant spirits).

Buddhism on evolution: Agganna Sutta
It's alive, all alive, all around us is life like the sweet fungus-like substance earthling humans originally fed on in the Agganna Sutra, on Buddhist beginning or the genesis of life on this planet before the devolution we are experiencing now began. We did not evolve from simplicity to complexity the way science teaches. We began with complexity alighting on this platform or earth and devolving ever since. But it's a cyclical process, so evolutionary times are coming back.

That's five senses. Do they possess the sixth, which would give them self-reflection and awareness of things beyond their immediate environment. Are they capable of abstract thoughts? That will become the question now that we know and slowly begin to accept that consciousness is imminent.

And if plants can, can AI? Why not? Clearly, Jagadish Bose demonstrated empirically, it wasn't only plants that had a secret life going, inanimate objects like metals did, too. Wow. Animists were right, it seems. Consciousness is everywhere, even if objects themselves are not the source of it. After all, we are not little self-contained computers walking about. We are more like little transistor radios walking around, talking (or making sounds out of our speakers), but it isn't us. There's a radio station somewhere high above, a Source radio emitter station sending out the sounds and information we are accessing.

How to make contact with space ETs (video)

How to communicate with extraterrestrials | Dr. Steven Greer, MD
(Michael Sandler's Inspire Nation) July 26, 2022. #StevenGreer #Extraterrestrial #InspireNation. Information about space aliens and UFOs (not UAPs) is hard to come by, with lots of questions and few answers...until now.

We have figured out a way to communicate with ETs. Want to speak with higher dimensional beings? Dr. Steven Greer, MD, knows how. Dr. Greer regularly communicates with these beings.

Dr. Greer is a leading UFO expert, founder of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI), the Disclosure Project, the CE5 Contact app, and the creator of numerous extraterrestrial documentaries helping us find the truth about ETs.

There is a Guided Meditation so anyone can call in higher dimensional beings and ETs right now.

10 ways to have a better conversation (TED)

Celeste Headly, TED Talks; Ananda (DBM), Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

When our job hinges on how well we talk to people, we learn a lot about how to have conversations — and that most of us don't converse very well. Celeste Headlee has worked as a radio host for decades, and she knows the ingredients of a great conversation:
  • Honesty,
  • brevity,
  • clarity, and a
  • healthy amount of listening.
In this insightful talk, she shares ten useful rules for having better conversations. "Go out, talk to people, listen to people," she says. "And, most importantly, be prepared to be amazed."

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Phone booth set up to reach the dead (doc)

NHK World, Japan (doc); Beyond Science; Pat Macpherson and Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly

"The Phone of the Wind"
I can suddenly see unseen beings.
The Tsunami was a terrible thing, and Japan remembers. One seaside village in particular lost the largest number of inhabitants and did something about it. One man set up a phone booth to speak to the dead. News got out. Now a line of people forms daily to reach out to the other side. It is not merely a feelgood exercise.

Two-way communicating with the dead was done at least two times before, in ancient Greece with psychomanteum oracle shrines and in modern America using EMF radio devices. Few tells us about these two objective-subjective tools.

Psychomanteum (necromantic mirror gazing)
(Beyond Science, 8/28/18) The ancient practice of slanted mirror gazing was used in ancient Greece. Back then people were very much like us today, pondering the meaning of life and death. Humans wanted answers about what the beyond, the other side of the veil. Mirror gazing has gone mainstream with psychologist Dr. Raymond Moody, who has devoted his life to studying NDEs (near-death experiences). Dr. Moody helped develop specific techniques for creating an atmosphere to conduct mirror-gazing experiences in one's own personal psychomanteum. REFERENCES: gaia.com/article/psychomanteum-mirror-gazing, lifeafterlife.com, near-death.com/psychology/triggers/psychomanteum.

The Buddhist way: Meditation
"The dead" are here next to us a few "stations" over on neighboring frequencies.
.
In any case, there is another way that is much better: In Buddhism, what is the most important thing to seeing the unseen, to sensing what is normally invisible, to reach the deceased (pretas, devas, narakas, yakshas, and many others) while living is to clean up the means of seeing -- the heart/mind.

That is done by meditation to purify consciousness, remove the Five Hindrances, and attain a state of clarity.

"The path of purification" is another name for Buddhism. It leads to knowing and seeing in this very life. It leads to more, to the end of all suffering, to the direct realization of the highest truths. The truth sets us free. If we see without being set free by what we know-and-see, we might well regret it.

Trees really do TALK (TED audio)

Suzanne Simard, 1-TED Radio Hour NPR/TED Staff; Editors, Wisdom Quarterly
How do Trees [Cooperate and] Collaborate?
Mycelium Running (Paul Stamets)
(12:28) Mushrooms are the basis of the communicating forest: Ecologist Suzanne Simard shares how she discovered and scientifically proved that trees use underground fungi (mycelium) networks to communicate and share resources, uprooting the idea that nature constantly competes for survival. It is smarter than that: it cooperates because it knows that the health of one is interdependent on the health of many. Her segment appeared on the TED Radio Hour episode called "Networks."
Suzanne Simard is a professor of forest ecology at the University of British Columbia. Her work demonstrates that complex, symbiotic networks in forests mimic our own neural and social networks. She has 30 years of experience studying the forests of Canada.

What the Dead can teach us about Bigfoot

Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, Crystal Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly; Medium Jamie Butler, (ChannelingErik.com); National Geographic (natgeo.com)
In Buddhist terms a Yeti or Bigfoot is called a Yakshi, Yakkha, Rakshasa, or ogre.

Erik Medhus died. His mother, Dr. Elisa Medhus, MD, could not bear it. She made contact. And now she can ask her son anything and get answers from the beyond with the help of channeler Jamie Butler (withloveandlight.com).

Are mythical creatures of legend real? What about Sasquatch/Bigfoot? This post is divided into two parts because it took place on two different occasions.

PART ONE
Mother (Dr. Elisa Medhus, MD): Is Bigfoot real?
Jamie Butler (laughing, barely able to talk): Oh my [goodness], he says yes! Erik, explain to me please. (Pause. Speaking to Erik:) Because this is funny, cause this is a huge topic in our house. My husband loves Bigfoot.
Lloyd Pye explains who Bigfoot are.
Mother: Oh, I love Bigfoot, too! I love watching those programs about him! Of course, I’m getting a little frustrated because they never seem to find him. I don’t think they want to. It’d mean the end of the show. (Long pause.)
Erik: Just because—
Jamie (to Erik): [Goodness], Erik, you can just rant and rave! Okay, okay, I’ll say it.
Erik: Just because humans inhabit the Earth and they believe they’re the smartest animal alive -- because they can document and record things and take pictures -- doesn’t mean that they’ve covered every inch of this Earth! There is so much left unexplored. Think of the ocean alone. We think we’ve tapped everything out, but sh-t, we’re just now learning that dogs have spiritual emotions.
Mother: Yeah!
Erik: Why didn’t we know that before?
Mother: I can see it in my own puppies. So, why haven’t we found any [Sasquatch] bodies or other indisputable evidence? Tell me more. (Long pause as Jamie listens.)
Jamie: Erik! He’s saying it’s like an alien race.
Erik: They’re intelligent; they do not leave their dead behind.
Mother: Oh! What, do they eat them?
Jamie: I asked the same question!
Yeti swings in tree Bigfoot in Borneo (MN)
Erik: No, they don’t eat ‘em!
Mother: Put them in a little rocket ship? Burn them?
Jamie: He shows me rocks, water, burials, but he’s telling me something about dimensional changes with the Bigfoot.
Erik: We live in Dimensions 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and Bigfoot kind of resides in 3, 4, and 5, or 3, 4, 5, 6.
Mother: Oh!
Sasquatch to Native Americans or Bigfoot to European newcomers (examiner.com)

Erik: So the visual connections that we make with them, mmm, they inhabit a body, we can touch them, we can interact with them, but they do NOT want to communicate with us. They’re intelligent, so they’re not like at the ape level. They use tools, and they live outside and have kind of an animal-like structure, but they’ve got a very high intelligence and can travel between dimensions and times.
Mother: So we can see them only when our common dimensions mesh?
Erik: Yes, and that’s why it’s been so difficult to capture one alive, but so many people have had interactions with them.
Mother: What about that famous film of Bigfoot walking? Is that a hoax or the real thing?
Erik: No, it’s the real thing:

(Tiagopsc) Famous Patterson-Gimlin footage of actual "Bigfoot"/Sasquatch, 1967

Jamie: He’s saying something about a rock thrower.
Mother: Hmm. Why don’t they want to talk to us? What are we, chopped liver or something? (Pause)...
Erik: I think they see us more like dogs or kitty cats.
Mother: Oh my [goodness]?
Erik (laughing): It is that kind of difference.
Mother: When they die, do they go to where you are, Erik?
Erik: No, because it’s like a difference race, really, like an inhabitant of a different planet or something. I’ll find out more for you later.

PART TWO
Mother: Earlier you said that Bigfoot and Yeti were inter-dimensional beings. I think you said that we were in the 3rd, 4th and 5th dimensions and they were on the 4th, 5th and 6th dimensions, so there’s some overlap there. Could you elaborate on that a little bit? Also, are Bigfoot and Yeti one and the same?
Erik: Yeah, Bigfoot and Yeti and one and the same. They just live in different regions.
Mother: Okay.
Photo of actual Sasquatch caught by camera.
Erik: And they do have the ability to disappear or become invisible.
Mother: Do they do that by shifting to another dimension?
Erik: Yes, and they’re not harmful. They look at humans like they’re annoying little kittens.
Me: Well, tell me more about their abilities. Tell me more about them: their personalities, their lifestyles, etc.
Erik: Well, I haven’t really hung out with any— (Jamie giggles).
Mother (laughing): I hear they smell really bad!
Channeling Erik (facebook)
Erik: They probably smell like [urine and feces].
Mother: I think they do!
Erik: I think what—
Jamie: Okay, you think or you know?
Mother: It’s okay. We can deal with opinions. I don’t think anybody is going to fact check you on this one.
Erik: I know what irritates them the most is that humans are expanding more, and not only are we expanding more into land and forest that normally is uninhabited, but we’re also expanding into 4th and 5th dimension planes. So we’re coming across them more often. More
Monsters of various kinds are described in Buddhism. Yeti is a cannibal human-hybrid.
