Can DOGS talk? Plants feel and talk (NOVA PBS)

Can Dogs Talk? | full documentary | NOVA | PBS

Of course we can talk! Are y'all deaf?
(NOVA PBS Official) Premiered Feb. 4, 2026: Do speech buttons really allow dogs to talk to us? Scientists investigate.

Imagine a world where our furry best friends could tell us exactly what they're thinking. A growing number of dog owners claim this is already happening, thanks to innovative word buttons that seem to unlock a new realm of canine communication.

What is it, Fido? - Umm, you gonna eat that?
But are these dogs truly understanding what we’re saying — and talking back? Are they really thinking creatively, applying words in new contexts? Or is this just clever conditioning?

What is he trying to say, Venerable? - He's tired during our 2,300-mile Peace Walk.
.
We've been talking all along.
To find out, scientists are conducting the largest animal communication study in history, analyzing millions of button presses from thousands of dogs worldwide.

Witness astonishing moments that challenge our assumptions about animal intelligence, from dogs that seem to engage in conversations to those who learn new words with incredible speed.

Viewers must prepare to question everything they thought they knew about the minds of dogs and discover just how far their linguistic abilities might stretch.

Pervert assaults Future-Pres. AOC (video)

Right wing pervert assaults AOC on Capitol steps

My Latin beauty shouldn't have any...
(The Young Turks) While walking up the Capitol steps to work recently, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) was accosted and sexually harassed as she tried to get to her office. Ana Kasparian and cohost Cenk Uygur discuss the incident on TYT.

AOC states: "Here is a video he [the pervert] posted of the incident. I was actually walking over to deck him [with my fist] because if no one will protect us then I’ll do it myself, but I needed to catch a vote more than a case today." (See uncensored video: AOC/X).

Is this "sexual harassment"? (Should Bernie be getting so handsy?)

Now allowed in Hegseth's Army
Sexual harassment is a type of harassment based on the biological sex or cultural gender of a target.

It can involve offensive sexist or sexual behavior, verbal or physical actions, up to bribery, coercion, and assault [without physical contact].

Harassment may be explicit or implicit, with some examples including
  • making unwanted sexual remarks,
  • actions that insult and degrade by gender,
  • showing pornography,
  • demanding or requesting sexual favors,
  • offensive sexual advances, and
  • any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal (sometimes provocative) conduct based on sex [1].
Sexual harassment includes a range of actions from verbal transgressions to sexual abuse or assault [2]. Harassment can occur in many different social settings such as the workplace, the home, school, or religious institutions. Harassers or victims can be of any gender [3]. More

Move to White House or Senate?
Elect me to fight oligarchy with VP Bernie!
(Axios) Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her team are positioning her to run for the White House or the U.S. Senate in 2028, according to people familiar with her operation. Why it matters: Ocasio-Cortez's 2028 decision could shake up the presidential race or the Senate's leadership. A fellow New Yorker, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, 74, is up for re-election in 2028. More
Please, Donald, don't do this to me, to my CA
CNN recently broke down a poll for early choices for a democratic presidential nominee in 2028, which found that AOC is currently polling at 12% behind California Gov. Gavin Newsom, which is 10% more than what Sen. Bernie Sanders was polling in comparison to Sec'y of State Hillary Clinton in 2014. More

The origin of language in humans

The origins of language
(History with Kayleigh) Premiered March 17, 2025: Researching the origins of language, can we pinpoint when language first emerged? What do other great apes reveal about their use of language, and how does that tie into our own evolution and development of language? Let's find out. SPONSOR: AirLearn now: airlearn.onelink.me...
  • What's the oldest language in the world? The Tamil language from the Buddhist island of Sri Lanka (aka Eelam, the land of the Tamil Tigers, for which the longest civil war in Asia was fought), Southern India (Tamil Nadu), and Singapore (though surely Sanskrit must be much older than that)

Bob Lazar blows whistle on UFOs (video)

ABC News; Derek Van Schaik, 7/30/19; Pfc. Sandoval, Seth Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Does body language prove Bob Lazar worked on alien spacecraft at S4, Groom Lake, or Dream Land, all part of "Area 51"?
Van Schaik
Did government contractor Bob Lazar actually work on recovered UFOs? The scientist has for decades to have been hired by Naval Intelligence to reverse-engineer extraterrestrial alien spacecraft at "Area 51," an assortment of military installations and restricted airspace in the Nevada desert.''

He has for decades said he worked for the U.S. government. Since surfacing and blowing the whistle, he has been questioned, tested, and re-interviewed many times. Now let’s analyze his unconscious body language to find out.

Bob Lazar claims he worked on UFOs, saucers, alien spacecraft (Sanskrit vimanas) at Area 51 (at S4 to be exact) for the U.S. government in the late 1980s.

For this video it’s important for viewers to know that the analyst, Derek Van Schaik, has any biases going into this review. He claims he has never seen a UFO or space aliens but, like many, he believes we are probably not alone in the universe.

Prior to this analysis he had not heard of Bob Lazar, and when he did, he thought Lazar must be at least a little deceitful because this story is so extraordinary.

What’s interesting is that over the past few years, the U.S. government has become more open to admitting the existence of UFOs (UAP or "unidentified aerial phenomena," for which there is overwhelming evidence).

It is interesting that the U.S. government is no longer claiming to completely ignore these claims anymore.

That's probably because when something odd is seen, it can now more easily be recorded because cameras are everywhere, and things are recorded, and the internet can spread it across the world in seconds before it is sunk, "debunked," altered, taken down, and suppressed by government agencies.

Is Lazar telling the truth or lying?
What’s interesting about all this is that someone is lying: It’s either the U.S. government for hiding and covering all this up, or it’s whistleblower Bob Lazar, who likely left their lab with physical evidence they want back. They still follow him and tap all of his communications.

Let’s put our neutral hats on to analyze Bob Lazar’s body language, piece together his story, and review the evidence to find out if he is being truthful or lying.

UFO gov't whistleblower tells all (video)

Derek Van Shaik 7/30/19; Pfc. Sandoval, Pat Macpherson, S.Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Does body language prove Bob Lazar actually did see ETs and work on alien spacecraft at Area 51?
Did Bob Lazar work on recovered alien spacecraft at Area 51 for the U.S. government? Let’s analyze his body language to find out.

Lazar claims to have been a scientist employed by the U.S. government. He worked on reverse engineering alien spacecraft at Area 51 (S4) for his employer in the late 1980s.

For this video it’s important for viewers to know that I have no biases going into this. I’ve never seen a UFO or space aliens. Like many, I believe we’re likely not alone in the universe. Prior to this analysis, I hadn’t heard of Bob Lazar.

When I did I thought he had to be at least a little deceitful because his story is so extraordinary.

What’s interesting is that over the past few years, the U.S. government has become more open to admitting the existence of UFOs. It is interesting that our government is no longer completely ignoring these claims.

Now when something odd is seen, it is more likely that it will be recorded. Cameras are everywhere. Once recorded, the internet can spread video across the world triggering government trolling and dismissals.

What’s interesting is that someone is lying. Either our government is hiding and covering up something, or it’s whistleblowers like Bob Lazar.

So we’re going to put on our neutrality hats and analyze Lazar’s body language, piece together his story, and review the evidence to find out if he is truthful.

I was raised by wild monkeys!

Piper Weiss, Shine (Yahoo! "Women Who Shine"); Seven, Wisdom Quarterly
Cute monkeys are savages with base appetites -- but they also exhibit compassion and other emotions. Here they are seen in Bali molesting another mammal (odditieszone.com).

TRUE STORY: When Vanessa James was a little girl, her mother would tell her bedtime stories of growing up like Tarzan in the jungle raised by a colony of monkeys.

As James got older, she learned those accounts were not fantasy but part of her mother's unbelievable history.

Between the ages of four and ten, Marina Chapman's family consisted of 20 or so Capuchin monkeys, native to the jungles of South America. Her memory of how it all started is hazy: She remembers sorting peas in her village when in an instant a hand covered her mouth and she awoke in the jungle.

"All she can remember is being chloroformed with a hand over her mouth," James, told London's Sunday Times this past week. "It's assumed that the kidnap went wrong,"

Two days after fending for herself, she was approached by a colony of monkeys who taught her by example to forage, feed, and survive as one of their own [thereby saving the life of a fellow mammal].

"Acting entirely on instinct, she tried to do what they did: she ate what they ate and copied their actions, and, little by little, learned to fend for herself," according to a press release for the Marina's memoir, The Girl With No Name, to be released in 2013 by Pegasus Books.
As Chapman adapted to jungle life, she lost any language she had learned in her early years and instead developed an inhuman ability to scale trees and to communicate with creatures native to the forest.

Marina Chapman (thesundaytimes.co.uk)
After more than five years, she was discovered by hunters who sold her into slavery in exchange for a parrot. (Help victims of child sex trafficking; here's how.)

A year later she escaped, narrowly avoiding a life of prostitution. She then lived off the streets in Colombia, relying on her stealth knowledge gleaned, in part, from her education in the jungle.

In her 20's while working as a household staff for a Colombian family, she was brought on a trip to Bradford, England. There she met her future husband at a church, a bacteriologist named John Chapman, and she never left. [Karma works in mysterious ways, unimaginable to our logic-bound, linear minds.]

Together they raised two children. She worked as a cook and later in social services she helped at-risk youth.

Over the past five years, her daughter Vanessa, now a 23-year-old film composer, has been devoted to transcribing her mother's memory -- matching the nuts and berries and wildlife in Chapman's jungle recollections with those native to the area she was abandoned in.

Recently, mother and daughter traveled back to Colombia to find Chapman's long-lost family, reconnecting with some surrogates who took her in in her teens. She even tried re-entering the jungle before being stopped by military officials.

After Vanessa was convinced she'd pieced together her mother's journey, the next challenge was convincing a co-writer, literary agent, and publisher that Marina's unbelievable accounts were true.

Humans return the favor (imprint.printmag.com)
Lynne Barrett-Lee came on board as the ghostwriter after poring over Vanessa's mounds of research and meeting face-to-face with Marina, whom she immediately understood to be a woman with no ordinary past. Publishers at Pegasus Books, too, claim to have gone through an exhaustive verification process before claiming the title.

There have only been a handful of modern-day accounts of feral children surviving this unique upbringing and ultimately assimilating back into human life. In 1999, a young boy was rescued in the Uganda jungle after being raised by monkeys. It took him eight years to learn to speak again. More

The Chimp who Could Communicate (trailer)

Wisdom Quarterly
"Project Nim" NOW PLAYING

Can other primates communicate? Of course they can. As humans we want human-style communication and ignore how widespread and diverse communication is all around us -- between plants, between species, between sentient beings and inanimate objects, between dimensions, between modalities, between minds and hearts...

Is language uniquely human? Not at all. We originally got ours from "above" (space) and have developed and debased it into innumerable tongues ever since. (Sadly, they are being lost at an alarming rate!)

This world is not for humans alone; there are classes of unseen beings of a higher order here. There are also other very visible ones, who are less morally developed (as a general rule, not in every specific instance). And they can learn Sign Language and other ways of communicating.

A new documentary features Nim Chimpsky [a chimpanzee whose name mocks Noam Chomsky, who said it teaching it language could not be done because that was unique to humans] and what he was able to accomplish.

Bonobos are so genetically similar to us that it is not accurate to regard humans as a separate class. It may be that we are but another genetically-altered hominid or great ape group. However, attached and identifying with our bodies, we find it hard to bear this scientific possibility (mymodernmet.com).

A human-primate hybrid or a hoax? (snopes.com)

The Chimp That Learned Sign Language
(NPR, 2008) Back in the 1970s, a chimpanzee named Nim Chimpsky took part in a Columbia University research study called "Project Nim."

Project Nim was led by Herbert Terrace, a psychologist at Columbia who was attempting to find out if a chimpanzee could learn to communicate using American Sign Language.

"Everyone knows that words are learned one at a time," but something happens when children begin to combine words and create true language, Terrace says. The question, he says, was, "Could Nim do this?" More

Blocking a frown keeps bad feelings at bay

Psychologists say if bodily sensitivity corresponded to size, a human would look like this.

(Times of India) Facial expressions not only reveal our thoughts but also affect our ability to comprehend written language related to emotions, according to a new study. According to study's first author, David Havas, a psychology Ph.D. candidate from University of Wisconsin-Madison, the interactions of facial expression, thoughts, and emotions has always intrigued researchers. During the study, researchers recruited 40 people who were treated with Botox (botulinum toxin). Tiny applications of this powerful nerve poison were used to deactivate muscles in the forehead that cause frowning. More>>

MacArthur Genius Grant produces: "Re-"

Body Language
A force behind the Beijing Olympics’ pageantry unveils new work

To take a brief break from his work as a choreographer, Shen Wei — winner of a MacArthur “genius” grant, and the lead creative consultant for the opening ceremonies at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing — headed to Tibet.

Born in China, he had long been familiar with the region’s steppes, Buddhist temples, and mountainous landscape. But what he found there during his trip in 2005 took his breath away, literally.

“Some places are 4,000 meters above sea level. It’s so high that you need oxygen,” says Mr. Wei. “Your body was so calm and yet your brain worked so fast.”

MacArthur genius grant recipient Shen Wei (Ernestine Ruben)

His trip to Tibet contributed to one section of a three-part performance Mr. Wei will present at Lincoln Center starting July 9, 2009. Each section of the show will encompass a different portion of Mr. Wei’s travels. The other two sections were inspired by the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, and China’s Silk Road. Mr. Wei entitled the triptych “Re-” to suggest rebirth or renewal. More>>
