[Here is] my first experience seeing Israeli racism towards Palestinians. Remember Dani and her Prince Charming? (They never even dated after all  of her planning).

Dani is an Israeli-American. But she is totally cool, having grown up away from Israel's occupation. She never knew a Palestinian before Feras. But Dani's mom was an Israeli, who was born in Israel and moved the States after she got married.

At first I assumed everything would be fine. I was a naive 22-year-old who knew little about Palestine and Israel, other than the catch phrase "Peace in the Middle East."

Dani and Feras got along so well and knew all of these cool foods that I had never seen -- like hummus, baba ghanoosh, schwarma, and so on. As the child of restauranteurs I always saw food as a common denominator that binds us all.

It's almost funny how little I knew about the cultural appropriation that Israel imposes on Palestinians at the time. But 10 years later, after all the wars I've watched, it just makes me sad to know how many other people know as little as I once did.

Even the experience of meeting Dani's mother looks so different when I think about it after all these years compared to how I felt about it when I experienced it.

We picked her mother up from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. It might seem weird that Feras and I went with Dani on such a personal errand, but we were all relatively new to Arizona and were still getting the lay of the land.

If we had the technology we do today as widely available back then, I might have been spared the whole experience.

It was clear that Dani's Israeli mother didn't approve of Feras from the start. I mean it was never going to go great when the first thing she asks him is where he's from and his reply is naturally "Palestine."

She took every opportunity to cut him down. But at the same time she was really nice to me. I assumed that she was a man-hater having been recently divorced. That's how oblivious I was to the [racism of the] whole thing.

Even though she practically threw herself at Dani's "Prince Charming" whenever he was around. (No offense to her taste but that should have been a red flag right there, PC was okay-looking, but he is no Feras).

Did I mention how weird that was since she could have been his mom? All the signs were there but I didn't know enough to see it then. One experience that stands out... More

The Bible loves War and Killing (video)

The Christian and Jewish Bible (New and Old Testaments, which are actually collections of handpicked books and writings) are enamored of "God"-approved war, violence, and harming.

Regarded more as history than spiritual inspiration, these books tell how all humans are to behave. If they do not, they risk being killed by "God" directly (smiting), or by his followers (stoning, pillaging), or by God indirectly (damnation).

The Book of Judges in particular is a bloodbath of the Christian gods (always plural in a book used as proof of monotheism) encouraging war. Even the nice parts are all about sacrificing animals to appease gods and feed them flesh more the way one imagines feeding giants or demons.

No apparent motive, just kill and kill again. The Gods demand it.

Visiting space alien giants, messengers, and overlords are terrible task masters. They demand allegiance and spawn brutal attacks and genocidal policies against neighbors.

Whether this is what they -- the sky "gods," Elohim, El Shaddai, El Elyon, El Olam, Yahweh (Jehovah), Adonai... (space visitors do not want to be asked their names, Judges 13) -- demand of their followers or what humans construe is demanded of them is difficult to parse out.

The Bible literally tells people to make war and kill, while another section records a general order that says, "Thou shalt not kill." This can only mean, kill only with heavenly orders or preapproval.

• (Evilbible.com) Murder is rampant in the Bible, especially the Old Testament, with laws that command it such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night And the God(s) kill many for reasons that defy explanation such as: killing children who make fun of bald people and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport. There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children. Here are just a few passages: 1) Capital Punishment Crimes, 2) God's Murders for Stupid Reasons, 3) Murdering Children, and 4) Miscellaneous Murders. As long as the list is, it barely scratches the surface.
  

Whatever the case, the Bible is all about killing in the name of God(s). The titans (asuras) could not be happier, and neither could Western empires that use it as support for more and more wars of aggression.

The Book of Ezekiel is said to have been written between 593-565 BC during the Babylonian captivity of the Jews. Ezekiel Chapter 38 gives a "prophecy" of a war against Israel from a country named Magog and her allies.

Book of Judges is full of mind-numbing , God-approved violence.

Israel, it is said, was a nation scattered in 70 AD, which meant it ceased to be a nation at that time. Ezekiel 36 gives the prophecy of Israel being scattered and then coming back and becoming a nation again.

Zionists say this happened in 1948 when a Western-backed group took land from Palestinians then captured Jerusalem in 1967, attempting to set it up as the new Israel's capital, which is actually Tel Aviv.

It is rare if not unheard of for a nation to be scattered, cease to exist, then roughly 1,000+ years become a nation again. Of course, it did not happen on its own. It was a conspiracy by those who read the book and wanted a self-fulfilling prophecy.

THE CAUSES OF WAR
The causes of war are fourfold: greed, anger, delusion, and fear. They are the roots of unwholesome karma between individuals as well as groups (nations). The Buddha considered these the most fundamental, the fire under the boiling pot.

War is not abstract. War is waged between one groups of individuals. The reasons for war are not abstract. [War is not started and directed by logic.] Individuals decide to wage war and scare the group into going along or inspiring them to steal, or exact revenge, or to indulge their delusions (of superiority or manifest destiny, god-given mandate, etc.)

Even when war is global, its beginning can be traced to the decisions and actions of individuals. So before discussing global war, let's first talk about it on an individual level.

Wars begin because the people of one country, or at least their rulers, have unfulfilled desires: They are greedy for wealth (the spoils of war) or power or strategic advantage. Or they are hateful and angry or fearful (both being expressions of aversion). Or what they feel they deserve has been thwarted, or their pride/sense of self has been offended (delusion).

Delusion can also manifest as racial or national arrogance. One group feels wronged that the answer to problems, which are essentially in their own minds, can be sought externally by the use of force.

WAR FOR WATER
Four years after the Buddha's attainment of enlightenment, a war erupted between the city-state of Kapilavastu (his hometown and the former kingdom of which he was heir apparent) and that of Kilivastu over the use of water.

Being told of this he traveled to Kapilavastu and stood between the two great armies about to start fighting. At the sight of the Buddha, there was a great commotion among the warriors. They said, "Now that we see the World-Honored One, we cannot shoot the arrows at our enemies [and distant relatives]." They threw down their weapons.

Summoning the chiefs of the two armies, the Buddha asked, "Why are you gathered here like this?"

"To fight," they replied.

"For what cause do you fight?" he inquired.

"To get water for irrigation."

Then he asked, "How much value do you think water has in comparison with the lives of men?"

"The value of water is very slight" was the reply.

"Why do you destroy lives, which are invaluable, for water which is of no value?" he asked. Giving some allegories, he then taught them: "Since people cause war through misunderstanding, thereby harming and killing each other, they should try to understand each other in the right manner."

In other words, misunderstanding (delusion, wrong view, ignorance) will lead people to a tragic end. And the Buddha exhorted them to pay attention to this. The armies were temporarily dissuaded from fighting each other.

The doctrine of karma teaches that force and violence, reaching as low as killing, never solves anything. Killing generates fear and anger and a strong desire for retaliation. This generates more killing, more fear, more anger, and more retaliation in a vicious cycle without end.

Killing an enemy in this life, one is hounded after being reborn because that being seeks revenge and will kill in revenge in this or a future life on getting a chance. When the people of one nation invade and kill or subjugate people of another, sooner or later the opportunity will present itself for retaliation. The conquered will become conquerors.

Has war ever, in the long run, really solved any problem in a positive manner? So-called "wars to end all wars" have only led to progressively larger and more destructive wars.

The emotions of killing translate into more and more deaths as weapons become more and more sophisticated. In prehistoric times, a cave dweller could explode with anger, take up a club, and bludgeon a few people to death. Nowadays, however, if a leaders loses his or her temper, who can tell how many will lose their lives as the result of modern weaponry?

Baba Vanga was a blind Bulgarian woman (born 1911, died 1996) who was a herbalist and alleged mystic who made many predictions for the future. She became incredibly popular due to her so-called mystical powers.

When she died huge crowds attended her funeral. Among her many predictions she claimed that by 4599 man would achieve immortality and that less than 100 years later we would begin assimilating with the aliens we meet on the hundreds of planets we will have populated.

She claimed that in 4509 man will become sufficiently developed that he will begin to communicate with God directly.

In 2221, while searching for extraterrestrial life man will come into contact with something truly terrible (though she did not state what).
