It's life after life, NDE research shows

Will we die only to be reborn again in this endless re-cycling of samsara? Yes, but not today.
.
I've studied more than 5,000 near-death experiences (NDEs), and my research has convinced me without a doubt that there's life after what we call death. (WQ) The dying process seems final, until we ourselves die and reunite with those who passed before us.
  • UNDERSTANDING NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES (The Hearty Soul) Dr. Long’s exploration was based on an encounter while in medical residency. He stumbled across an article describing NDEs (near-death experiences) in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). The article stirred his curiosity so much so that he eventually founded the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation. With incredibly meticulous scientific collection techniques and analyzing firsthand accounts, Dr. Long was able to uncover a collection of experiences that defy today's conventional understanding. These experiences, whether taking place during clinical death or in life-threatening situations, share common threads that hint at an existence beyond the physical realm: a life [lives] after death.
Raise the dead with this mantra: "Kuchi kuchi koo!"
(WQ) But it is not like this. What we call death is not oblivion, not the end of everything. It would be nice if it were and we could look forward to eternal peace and rest, unconsciousness and a closing of all things. But it isn't that way at all.

The rebirth (relinking, reappearance) process is immediate. We are not dead for more than a moment because the very next moment is the relinking consciousness. Therefore, it is an unbroken chain of mind moments (cittas) between lives.

In fact, it really should be called life after life not after death. There was this life, and before, there were countless others lived in this cycling chain. Hereafter, there is much more to come, for good and ill. People crassly say, "Karma is a b*tch," not seeming to realize that nearly everything good that happens to us is due to karma. The bad, too.

We have a choice, if we only knew it. We can steer the ship of our lives if only we regained the wisdom to know that. Even faith can help right away. If one but have faith (saddha, confidence) that karma really happens -- that our deeds really do beget appropriate results -- we would not be so timid.

The brain proceeds after the last breath
We might step up and begin to live. Belief in "fate," called fatalism, is very harmful. It absolutely seems true, that things just happen out of the blue. But that is only because we do not see the whole picture or even the big picture, but only a tiny fragment of it.

We only see that we did something good and nothing came of it, or even harm came to us. But we are blind to the fact that IT (the deed) has not yet come to fruition. Ripening is not immediate. It takes a variable length of time, which is why John Lennon's threat "Instant karma's going to get you" is so harmful.

Instant karma is unreal or very rare. If we do something and get an immediate result, it is not because that karma (that seed) suddenly sprouted and bloomed. It is far more likely because similar seeds were waiting in line to bloom. People do not usually suddenly turn over a new leaf and begin acting out of character. They (we) very much stick to character.
  • PATTERNS OF LIFE AFTER DEATH (The Hearty Soul) Dr. Long’s research has revealed that approximately 45% of individuals report an out-of-body experience when near death. This experience detaches consciousness from the physical body and provides vivid details of one's surroundings. These consistent accounts have often included details confirmed by witnesses which, of course, is great for accuracy and authenticity for Dr. Long. On top of this initial separation, individuals describe "going into" another realm, feeling a profound sense of peace, and reunion with departed loved ones. With such vivid descriptions and consistency of accounts across age groups and cultural backgrounds, it's hard to dismiss it all as mere hallucinations.
  • Anesthesia study unlocks clues about the nature of consciousness
  • Researchers discover brain circuit that controls ability to recall information and memories
Medium dies, reports NDE
Those past deeds come to fruition when we're still doing the thing we habitually did in the past, and it comes to seem like the deed we just did is producing its result when it is much more likely to be a deed from the distant past catching up with us.

[See the Abhidhamma for the unbelievably complex way in which this works with impulsions (javanas), volitions (cetanas), and the many kinds of karma (kammas) so named based on their function. All of these things, unbelievably, are directly observable to a mind that is temporarily purified and utterly obscured to defiled minds. That purification (vissudhi) is accomplished by meditative absorptions (jhanas), refined states of stillness and concentration. It is not really a DIY project but one that needs a teacher with experience in these matters. We can suggest form British Buddhist nun Beth Upton.]

Padmasambhava: Astral Realm Yogi

Padmasambhava: The Yogi from the Astral Realm
(Asangoham) In Tibet, Guru Padmasambhava is generally referred to as Guru Rinpoche, which means “precious master.” Guru Rinpoche is a totally enlightened being, a fully awakened one, a buddha, Tibetans believe.

He did not become enlightened gradually or start practicing the teachings of the Buddha Shakyamuni and eventually achieve enlightenment. Guru Rinpoche incarnated as a fully enlightened being.
  • [This is odd as the signal feature of a buddha or any arhat (fully enlightened being) in Buddhism is the end of all rebirths and therefore of all further suffering.]
“Through his form, primordial wisdom manifests in the world to benefit all sentient beings,” explains the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center.

His appearance was said to be predicted by the Buddha Shakyamuni through 19 different [apocryphal Mahayana] sutras and tantras that contain clear information about his arrival and activities.

The Buddha Shakyamuni [who is a supremely enlightened samma-sam-buddha or "perfectly enlightened one" with all of the attributes necessary for establishing the Dharma and a monastic Sangha to keep alive the Teaching in the world for a long time] is said to have even said that Padmasambhava would be more enlightened than himself. [lol]

According to the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center, the Buddha said: “Eight years after my mahaparinirvana [complete freedom, final nirvana, release from samsara], a remarkable being with the name Padmasambhava will appear in the center of a lotus and reveal the highest teaching concerning the ultimate state of the true nature, bringing great benefit to all sentient beings.” [That sounds like something a perfectly enlightened being would say, doesn't it? Nothing sketchy about it.]

But who exactly was Padmasambhava, really? Padmasambhava was an Indian tantric master who played a major role in bringing [esoteric] Vajrayana Buddhism from India to Tibet during the eighth century.

Though he has been the subject of many legends and myths, little is known about his life from a historical perspective.

One of the things we know is that he helped establish Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery, located in Samye.

He is also considered the founder of the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

In this lineage, and particularly in the Dzogchen teachings (which focus on discovering the ultimate ground of existence), he is considered an important symbol of enlightenment and an object of meditation.

“The word padma is Sanskrit. It was preserved as a Tibetan word and means ‘lotus flower.’ Sambbava means ‘born from.’ Padmasambhava’s usual name in Tibetan is Perna Jungney, translated from the Sanskrit name Padmakara, which means “originated from a lotus.”

When Padmakara was born from a lotus flower and, also, while being led back by King lndrabhuti [his adoptive father], wherever he was set down, a lotus spontaneously sprung up.

The king [would then exclaim], “This child is truly a lotus-born one!” Therefore, he became renowned as Padmakara.... Later, when he became learned in the fields of knowledge and presided as the head of five hundred great panditas [eminent scholars and masters in Tibetan Buddhism], he was known as Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born. Thus, he is indeed named after his manner of birth.”

This explanation was given by Yeshe Tsogyal, who lived in the 8th century CE and was considered the mother of Tibetan Buddhism. #Padmasambhava #tibetanbuddhism #gururinpoche

Politicians possessed by astral spirits

Danger of astral spirits/astral beings control the world: Failed assassination of Trump

I may be possessed by spirits, but it's not me Joe.
(Hans Wilhelm) July 13, 2024: Are politicians and others controlled by astral beings? Are you? How do astral beings control this world? Ever wonder why so many powerful people never seem to face the consequences of their own bad karma (deeds), which are magnified as politicians impacting millions with their corrupt words, decisions, and actions?
I'm greedy and angry, and I deceive people.

Indigo children with psychic powers (VICE)

VICE, April 12, 2016; Crystal Q., CC Liu, Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Inside the strange, psychic world of indigo children
(VICE) The Chosen Ones S1 E4 Gavin Haynes has come from England to America to investigate the secret world of indigo children, a select group of people who believe they were born with "indigo" auras and possess special and supernatural traits and abilities.

Though many of these children have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD by some healthcare professionals, indigo parents maintain that their children do not have these conditions but are instead running on a different plane unknown to regular people.

Critics say these children are not getting proper mental healthcare.

On his journey for answers, Haynes has his aura photo taken, undergoes a holistic dentistry examination by a mother/daughter Indigo pair, and attends a concert for Indigo rap duo The Underachievers, who are preaching Indigoism as a way of life.

Travel to see life on other planets (video)

Ac Mahaviirananda (Tantric Guru); Editors, Wisdom Quarterly; TheMisterySpot (video)
There are many inhabited worlds even in our own solar system and our milky galaxy.

These are the 13 known extraterrestrial races living on Earth

Wait. There's life on other planets? How can we know that? We can use science and unreliable eyewitnesses. But NASA is not saying a word, at least no officially.

Recently, in India there arose a guru who considered himself an avatar of Shiva and Krishna, a modern incarnation of benevolence out to help humankind.

His name was Shri Shri Anandamurti ("Holy Holy Bliss Embodiment," born Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar) and he began a devotional moral religion of yoga, meditation, and social service called Ananda Marga ("Path of Bliss," anandamarga.org).

Baba: Shri Shri Anandamurti (PK Sarkar)
The Margis called him "Baba," a loving title with different definitions in different languages and regions of India but generally understood as "Father." He was becoming very famous, performing miracles of a type usually attributed to Jesus of Nazareth (who spent his "lost years" training in India according to written records found by Westerner Nicolas Notovitch).

His followers organized meetings, darshana (viewing the guru, vision of the divine), where he would give a talk and a demonstration of magic -- miracles, yogic marvels, healings, and explanations about the world.

Baba had many good things to say about the Buddha and seemed to be on a similar mission though Baba is little regarded today by most of the world. They were born on the same day (millennia apart), and Baba lived in the state where the Buddha reached enlightenment and spread the Dharma...

Here is one astounding incident relating to life on other planets as recounted by Acarya ["teacher"] Mahaviirananda Avadhuta (an "apostle" or "direct disciple") in the fascinating book The Tantric Guru: Enchanting Stories of His Life (2nd ed., 2011, Ananda Marga Publications, Ananda Nagar, India).

A Demonstration of Death (pp.43-44)

When the Ananda Marga mission began, Baba used to give general darshana (viewing the teacher) in Jamalpur (Bihar, India) every Sunday. Margis would attend from different places, and some would stay at the Jamalpur jagrti (mission house).

On November 21, 1954, the darshana room was full of sadhakas (devotees). Baba requested a devotee, "Come here, sit in lotus posture, and close your eyes..." The devotee did as he was asked.

The body moves by vital airs with energy centers.
Then Baba said, "I order your apana vayu [vital "air," spiritus, "holy spirit," life force energy, chi, prana responsible for elimination] to cross samana vayu ["vital air" responsible for digestion, metabolism, heat regulation]; now to to prana vayu [responsible for beating heart and breathing and moving energy to every cell of the body]." The devotee started breathing heavily. Next Baba said, "Prana vayu, merge with udana vayu ["air" responsible for speech]."

The the devotee made strange sounds and fell to the ground. Baba asked a doctor who was sitting there, "Is there life in him?" The doctor replied, "No, Baba."

Baba explained, "There is still life in his body. A person will die only when the prana vayu leaves the body."

He asked everyone present, "Do not tell him what I have done in this demonstration. Some of you, massage his body."

Then Baba left the hall and went into another room. Half an hour later, Baba returned and called everyone into the room. Everyone was wondering what He would do next.

With His right toe, Baba touched the sahasrara chakra of the devotee on whom He had earlier performed the demonstration. The devotee opened his eyes and Baba asked him, "Who are you?"

He replied, "I am Shyama Charan Lahiri [the name of a great yogi who passed away in 1895, a disciple of Mahavatar Babaji made famous by Paramahansa Yogananda in his spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi].

Baba asked, "Why have you come here?"

He replied, "You gave me an order to come and save the body [of this man]."

Life on other planets?
Ananda Marga devotees engage in devotional practices, yoga, meditation, social service.
There is a lot of ancient archeology on wet Mars today, like this statue of a female.

Baba said, "Now that you have come, you can do a little more work. Just now, go to the planet Mars and see if there is life there."

Then the videhi mind [let us say the "projected astral body"] of Lahiri went to Mars and said, "There is no life there [at least not visibly on the surface]."

Then Baba asked, "What is there, then?"

Lahiri replied, "There is only water, and in some places there is land that is muddy because of the water."

Baba then instructed him, "Now you can go to the moon and tell us what is there."

He said, "There is a vast desert and mountains."

Baba asked him, "Is there any life?"

He replied, "There is no life [at least not on the surface]. There is a lack of oxygen on the moon, but there are gold mines."

After that, Baba told him, "Now go to Venus."

Lahiri said, "There are human beings there who are reddish in color [like Ancient Egyptians?] and are more developed than the human beings on Earth."

Baba told him, "Return to Earth and go to the USA, Russia, Tibet, and the Himalayas, and tell everyone what you see there."

After that Baba thanked the videhi mind of Lahiri and told it to leave the devotee's body.

The devotee then appeared to be dead again. Baba knew that all of the devotees in the room were upset by this, so He gave the order, "Wherever the sadhaka's videhi mind is in this cosmos, it must come to Earth, to India, to Bihar, to Jamalpur, and right tothis place."

Then Baba ordered all of the devotee's vayus to function properly, and after a while he opened his eyes.

Baba asked him, "Why do you feel dull?"

He replied, "Baba, I got up a little late this morning. That's why."

Baba told him, "Do not take dinner tonight; just drink some warm [liquid] just before you sleep."

The next day the same Margi was with Baba again. Baba scolded and punished him because he got married without informing Baba, even though in the past Baba had told him not to do this.

His life was destined [by karmic force not by chance "fate"] to be short and that is why Baba called him to Jamalpur and used him to demonstrate the process of death. This demonstration exhausted his samskaras for a short life, and Baba then revived him and extend his life. [The end]

Is there life on other planets?
In another story (p. 60), Baba stares at space and explains that the "ideology" (Teachings of Ananda Marga, the Good Word) have already been spread to 49 other worlds in space, but there are countless more to go. Baba sent 40 "apostles" (avadhutas) out into the world(s). He will go there to teach until many more worlds hear the "Timeless Teachings" (Sanatana dharma, "Eternal Truth") established there again, an aspiration very similar to Buddhism and, one imagines, any universal doctrine or missionary tradition.

Aware Project: rethinking psychedelics

Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly; Ash Be (Meetup), AwareProject.org

Is that safe? Studies show you need a professional psychologist or researcher present.

I was meditating when I realized...
The aim of The Aware Project is to balance the public conversation about psychedelics, spread accurate information, and give a new face to psychedelia.

This change in impression will occur through connection and relationship, one individual at a time. The project is calling on everyone whose lives have been improved through the mindful use of psychedelics to educate themselves and become ambassadors for the psychedelic experience.

Ambassadors can show everyone around them that people who mindfully and thoughtfully use psychedelics -- which will soon become legal in California -- cross all social, racial, economic, and political lines.

The Aware Project organizes events in Los Angeles and San Diego to educate and connect the psychedelic community.

Stained glass simulates psychedelic experience
There is a monthly speaker series called the "Psychedelic Awareness Salon" as well as screenings of psychedelic related movies and documentaries.

The schedule is speaker or movie, questions, and unstructured mingling time.

"Worst Nightmare: Supernatural Assault"

SoulSmack.com

Your Worst Nightmare: Supernatural Assault (SoulSmack)

This documentary covers a common experience that is almost never spoken of -- sleep paralysis and supernatural assault.

One in five will experience this discomfiting to terrifying phenomenon. Victims wake to find they are fully alert yet unable to move or speak. Many experience frightening visions of lower astral being, entities, ghosts, demons, shadows, or an old woman known as "The Hag."

For others there is simply the unmistakable presence of evil. In extreme cases, these potentially supernatural attacks can occur for decades. Overwhelmed, exhausted, and entirely alone, victims may lead shattered lives dominated by fear and social stigma, ridicule, or psychologizing.

Those who seek medical advice are often misdiagnosed and labeled psychotic or schizophrenic. "Your Worst Nightmare: Supernatural Assault" explores the common yet greatly misunderstood phenomenon of sleep and the possibility of sleep paralysis.

This groundbreaking documentary contains interviews with actual victims, consults with experts, and offers advice on how to live with what might be your worst nightmare.

How Extraterrestrials Communicate (video)

Wisdom Quarterly

In a post yesterday, an unidentified spacecraft appeared over Toronto. It hovered two hours in an inexplicable display of geometric shape and color changes presumably accompanied by tones (the woo customarily associated with flying saucers).

It is often asked, "If there are intelligent extraterrestrials, why don't they just come down and announce themselves?" Was this what was happening?

Stewart Swerdlow points out that in his US-backed government research, he discovered that extraterrestrials do not use language per se to communicate. They use this "hyperspace" triad:

  1. color (frequency)
  2. tone (sound)
  3. archetype (geometric shape emanating from the mind-pattern and DNA)

A massive object appeared over a major western city and communicated as loudly and clearly as it could. This was not in the middle of the night in a rural area.

It was, instead, over a densely populated region during with morning traffic when it was still dark enough to make a spectacle. Such behavior has often been described as "dancing, " which of course is misleading. Many sense that such craft are attempting to communicate.

Part II: Stewart Swerdlow "Hyperspace 101"

The Buddha called referred to such extraterrestrial life forms as devas, which literally means "shining ones." They were prevalent in ancient India, Sumeria, and Egypt. And they figure in many Buddhist tales of much older times, for example in the Jataka Tales.

Their existence is dealt with in much more detail in the Vedas, for example in the Vimana Shastra, vi-man referring to a craft able to travel through the measureless sky. The Buddha further said that we are able to develop ourselves through the cultivation of virtue, meditation (mental-collectedness, concentration, and absorption), and ultimately wisdom (higher knowledges, abhijna, and liberating-insight) to master our minds and bodies visiting other worlds and understanding this world fully.

Moreover, he discouraged "worship" and supplication of these marvellous and advanced devas, instead encouraging that we cultivate the karma to be reborn as they are. The karma that leads to rebirth in the human world is the Five Precepts. Virtue beyond that (i.e., courses of action that fall within the vast categories of nongreed, nonhatred, and nondelusion), when it ripens, leads to rebirth in more welcome and exalted states here and beyond.

These are Buddhist teachings few acknowledge in our modern agnostic/atheistic materialism. For those who have always said, "I'll believe it when I see it," the simple message is this: Personal virtue is the doorway that leads to all that we find pleasant and welcome. And since karma is of three kinds -- physical, verbal, mental -- even holding wholesome thoughts is a wonderful thing.

"The Chakra Bible" (book)

The flow of subtle energy in our bodies
We are not just physical bodies— remarkable though that is—for around us is a pulsating electromagnetic energy field that is described either as a rainbow-like aura or as a luminous light body. This "subtle-energy" field interacts with our physical body by flowing through concentrated spirals of energy. In yoga practice these spiralling energy centers are known as chakras, a Sanskrit word meaning "wheels of light."

There are seven main chakras (plus a number of smaller ones) that interact with the body's ductless endocrine glands and lymphatic system by feeding in good energy and disposing of unwanted energy. It is vitally important for our general health and the prevention of illness or "disease" that we nourish our chakras in the correct way.

How this book works
This book begins by introducing you to the chakras and the subtle bio-energies in and around our bodies, usually referred to as the "layers" of the aura (Part 1). It continues with in-depth information about each of the seven main chakras, their correspondences in the physical body and how you can use breathing and visualization exercises to balance your life-force energy (Parts 2-8). The origins of chakras in the Indian tradition are explored and linked to the present-day practice of yoga.

Chakras are fundamental to an understanding of holistic healing, and these seven sections of the book offer easy-to-use instructions for utilizing crystals, color, sound, aromatherapy and a number of other effective self-heal methods, giving a broad-based understanding for beginners, healers and practitioners alike.

The later sections of the book explore newly discovered chakras: the Earth Star, Hara/Navel and Causal Chakras, the Soul Star and Stellar Gateway, and the Sun, Moon, and cosmic chakras (Part 9). The chakras as a whole are placed within the context of other traditions, such as Taoism, the Kabbalah, Sufism, Inca and Mayan teachings and shamanism, and the Earth and Planetary chakras are introduced (Part 10). Culminating with a section on chakras and healing, the book explains how to give healing to recipients (Part 11).

DMT: Spirit Molecule (film)

Every night the brain releases DMT (dimethyltryptamine) allowing more than dreaming but perhaps a nightly hallucinogenic or psychedelic experience. The molecule exists everywhere in nature -- plants, humans, animals, entities... It is related to the active ingredient in Prozac (a poisonous fluoride-based pharmaceutical widely used to treat clinical depression) and has a much better affect on serotonin levels.

Say what? Why do people wake up speaking in foreign accents?

The future of psychiatric medicine is the further study of entheogens. But the naturally occurring herbs and psychotropic substances are superior and sustainable, unlike synthetic facsimiles.

Presented are a series of interview clips from the movie "DMT: The Spirit Molecule." Its release has been delayed. It is expected out in early 2009.
