Research: autistic brains are psychic

New research finds the autistic brain has psychic abilities
(Danny Jones Clips) Iya WhiteleyAutism is a spectrum disorder, but not talking may be masking other powers and abilities. Indigo and Crystal Children can communicate even if they do not "talk" (verbalize) much. They have differences but these are not necessarily deficits. Young Men Series: Dating is impossible!

Young men series: How they’re going about courtship
Can I borrow your credit card so that you can buy me a some presents? Then we can go out!

Why do I need to date girls? Honestly!
One recent week on AirTalk, man-loving Host Larry Mantel thought to explore the experiences of today’s young men in America, the issues impacting them, and the trends they’re bucking.

One of the major issues impacting them: loneliness (psychologytoday.com). One in four men report being lonely, according to Gallup. At the same time, they’re also not trying to make as many connections as their older peers, with nearly half of young men not even dating. (Gen Zs romance gap: Why nearly half of young men aren't dating).

This has led to some interesting data, namely that most young men are single whereas most young women are not single (thehill.com). So what’s going on with the dating scene? Why are young men seemingly struggling with courtship?

Joining Mantle to discuss these questions are Daniel Cox, director of the Survey Center on American Life at the American Enterprise Institute, a right-leaning think tank and Daniel Ellenberg, leadership coach, licensed therapist, and seminar leader.
I like to people watch rather than date, y'know?
One of those bucked trends is their views on religion. Historically, women have been more religious than men overall. But recent data from Pew Research suggests that Generation Z men are closing this gender gap and are becoming religious at rates near their women counterparts. So what’s behind the rise in religious young men, and will it last?

Joining Larry to answer these questions and more is associate professor of political science at Eastern Illinois University where he studies religious identity Ryan Burge and Reformed University Fellowship Campus Minister at the University of California, Irvine Derek Rishmawy.

Mike Catherwood (Swole Patrol) visits KROQ

KROQ, June 5, '18; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells, Pfc. Sandoval, C. Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly
Tweeter Mike Catherwood has his own podcast with Dr. Drew and guests: Swole Patrol
Crazy Dr. Shawn Baker invents "all meat diet" and looks like cr*p (Mike&Drew/Swole Patrol).
.
After being fired from KABC AM for being too much when someone safer, though less funny, was needed, drug addict Mike D. Catherwood reappeared at his old stomping ground, KROQ (106.7 FM). He was the second most successful co-host of Loveline behind Adam Corolla.

Mike Catherwood was thrown off of Dr. Drew Midday Live to make room for Lauren
.
Then he was disappeared  apparently to make room for Allie MacKay or because the same problems he brought to "Dr. Drew Midday Live" followed him to the "Kevin & Bean Show." It's not as if they were paying him to show up, so it's strange that neither Kevin Ryder nor Gene "Bean" Baxter would stand up for him at the station to become a regular feature on their morning show.

Latino comedian Mike Catherwood was tossed off of Kevin & Bean to make room for Allie
.
I need a job. I'll do a podcast! (Ralph Garman)
The K&B Show is in desperate need of HUMOR after the firing of failed actor-comedian Ralph Garman, who lost his other job with Kevin Smith "Hollywood Babble On" due to a heart attack, Smith's not his own. Mysteriously, the day Mike comes in for a visit, Allie MacKay is absent.
  • Are they not able to work together?
  • Was she out in protest that he was coming in?
  • Does he creep her out?
  • Did they use him to fill in knowing she was going to be out?
  • What's going on there? (Don't expect K&B to tell. They'll do anything to stay in the good graces of their corporate overlords, including getting everyone else fired so they can keep their fat paydays, cutting off longtime friends like Lisa May (picked up by FHF at KLOS 95.5 FM), kissing up to Allie, or going without humor on a "comedy" show.
To hell with Lisa May (R) then with Ralph (L)
On June 4th, suddenly here was Psycho Mike being announced as the next day's special guest. He was just coming in to talk about health, diet, and building muscle for the impending summer.

We have to fit in those swimsuits somehow, and we are all fat, flabby, or both -- even in the sexiest state in the union, Californication. Catherwood appeared on June 5th, and here's the show: kroq.radio.com/media/audio... Also on the show "Alex Jones," "LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa" on Election Day, Kanye West's new drop (cr*p), and more but no Allie.

TED Radio Hour, 4/6/18; Ashley Wells, Crystal Quintero, Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

How Should We Talk to Our Kids About Sex? ( Part 3 of the TED Radio Hour episode "Turning Kids into Grown-Ups."

That's it? What's it for? - I don't know, son.
"Dad, what's a clitoris?" "Achkk, ask your mother!" "Are you kidding? She's not going to tell me anything. I doubt she knows, and if she does, she sure's not comfortable enough to share it with me." "Then go to the library!" "Wait, what am I thinking? I have a dumb phone and Wikipedia and YouTube videos! Thanks, dad!" "Hold on, son. I'd like to know myself. Let's look it up together. But whatever you do, don't tell your sister. She must never know!" "Okey-dokey."

How to talk to teens about SEX

When my parents told me to sit down, I thought I was in trouble. Then when they said, "We want to talk to you about sex," I was relieved and answered, "Sure, what do you guys want to know?" thinking they had to know that I knew more about it than they did. They shamed me and got me in trouble. We never talked about it again. :/

National Geographic apologizes for racism

Prof. Hub Brown, Libby Denkmann (AirTalk®, Pi Day, 3-14-18); Editors, Wisdom Quarterly

.
I'll take that one, on the left. How much?*
As National Geographic finally admits it has been promoting implicit bias, white supremacy, stereotyping, ethnic prejudice, scientific racism, and apologizes in general for past racist coverage, will other US media follow suit?

I like reading it. It's a very good magazine.
As part of its April issue focusing on RACE, National Geographic (natgeo.com) made the bold move to acknowledge its own past racist coverage.

To explain the magazine’s decision, Editor-in-Chief Susan Goldberg wrote: “We thought we should examine our own history before turning our reportorial gaze to others.”

Me, too. If I read.
The list of past missteps included a slavery-era slur being used to describe California cotton workers and a 1916 story on Australia with a photo caption that read: “South Australian Blackfellows: These savages rank lowest in intelligence of all human beings.

While this admission is unexpected, the content is not surprising given that National Geographic has been around for over 100 years, and they certainly aren’t alone in their offensive past.

"Post Truth World" of Trump (ThisModernWorld.com by Tom Tomorrow)
I don't read Nat Geo, just da Bible. It's a Southern thang. All y'all wouldn't understand.

I don't read, but if I did, I'd read this 1
For instance, The New York Times reported that it retroactively wrote obituaries for women who were initially overlooked.

And in 2016 Louisville, Kentucky’s The Courier-Journal publicly apologized for continuing to publish Muhammad Ali’s "slave name" Cassius Clay rather than his adopted freeman's name, even after the boxer legally changed his name in 1964.

National Geographic’s move has been trending on social media, and whether or not the response around it has been positive, it’s definitely been a conversation starter.

Libby Denkmann
What do readers think about National Geographic’s acknowledgement of past racist coverage? Will it prompt other media publications to do the same?

Are you yourself more apt to read the magazine now, or does this hinder you from supporting the old time magazine? More + AUDIO

*White men didn't RAPE black children as "property," did they?

I wish it were the olden days! - Why, John?
Because of the power relationships at work, slave females in the United States were at high risk for child molestation, rape, and forced impregnation.

Many slaves fought back against sexual attacks by whites, and some died resisting.

It's not what it looks like!
Others carried severe psychological and physical scars from the attacks. Sexual abuse of slaves was rooted in part in a patriarchal Southern culture that treated black [and Native American] women and children as property or "chattel."
Black children as young as 6 were advertised and sold by white men to other white men to "satisfy their lust." It was not an aberrant practice looked on as violent "child molestation" and/or rape, but just a property right.

He loves black girls. - But with his tongue?
Whereas Southern culture strongly policed against sexual relations between white women and black males -- purportedly on the grounds of "racial purity" -- by the late 18th century, the many mixed-race slave children showed what white Christian slave owners were doing to slave girls and women. More
Curious? So's the government. Big Brother spies from low-earth orbit and you say nothing.

How to talk about PORN with TEENS (video)

.
Porn and the Teenage Brain
My mom doesn't know I watch and touch my...
There is a lot of pornography on the Internet. And there are a lot of teenagers with smartphones [accessing that porn].

It seems obvious that teens would watch. But maybe it isn’t.

In The New York Times magazine, Maggie Jones writes that parents underestimate how much pornography their kids watch on their phones.

And many teens who watch porn before taking sex ed or forming sexual relationships end up with skewed ideas about intimacy, consent, and pleasure.

Combine this with mainstream depictions of sex and relationships, and, as Jones writes:
If I can't have Sex Ed in school, I'll teach myself.
These images confound [and confuse] many teenagers about the kinds of sex they want or think they should have [such as masturbation, anime, lesbianism, dating violence, homosexuality, joyful orgasm, incest, rape, beastiality, demeaning sex, consensual relations, use of condoms, orgies, coercion, punishment, Mormonism, sodomy, healthy portrayals, cartoons... -- the good, the bad, the ugly].
In part, that’s because they aren’t always sure what is fake and what is real in porn. Though some told me that porn was fantasy or exaggerated, others said that porn wasn’t real only insofar as it wasn’t typically two lovers having sex on film. Some of those same teenagers assumed the portrayal of how sex and pleasure worked was largely accurate.
That seems to be in keeping with a 2016 survey of 1,001 11-to-16-year-olds in Britain. Of the roughly half who had seen pornography, 53 percent of boys and 39 percent of girls said it was “realistic.”
And in the recent Indiana University national survey, only one in six boys and one in four girls believed that women in online porn were not actually experiencing pleasure: As one suburban high school senior boy told me recently, “I’ve never seen a girl in porn who doesn’t look like she’s having a good time.”
This is a handheld porn computer.
Solutions like removing pornography from the Internet or smartphones from teenage life are difficult to the point of being technologically or socially impossible.

So some educators are trying something new…porn literacy.

For this radio episode of "1A," listeners are invited to share their stories about how pornography has affected them and their children’s ideas about sex.

Look at that brass me, so shiny!
Call (855) 236-1212 and share a story. And don’t worry, no need to reveal your name [because the caller ID will provide that and more as it does for all 800 numbers when you call in to radio stations; call from a payphone]. More

No, sex is wrong!
(WQ) How dare you talk about this taboo subject on a sex-positive Buddhist site! How dare you be a sex-positive site! This is a shameful subject! You should be ashamed of yourselves! We should all be ashamed of ourselves!

God is going to punish us! Don't tell the kids!! They can figure it out when they go to college or leave home!!!

Avatar( edited by WQ) As a society we have taken one of [the] greatest gifts to us and demonized it. I'm talking about sex! Sex is the most beautiful interaction two individuals in love can experience together.

But we have taken this gift and made it something we cannot talk about, we can't think about, we can't enjoy without feeling guilt. Is it any wonder our kids turn to porno?

Ignorance is not bliss; it is simply ignorance. Young minds want to know things; they will do whatever it takes to learn. How do you want them to learn? Let's talk with our adolescents in an open and honest conversation. Yes, sometimes the most valuable conversations will be the toughest.

P.S. You are not allowed to think about pink elephants! Q: What did you just think about? [A: Sex. ;/ NOTE: If you order kids NOT to do something, that's exactly what you will get them to focus on until they begin to obsess.]
