Mickey Mouse Day 2025 (Disney World)

OC is a Tragic Kingdom, right, Gwennie?
Like most of us around here, Gwen Stefani (who long since sold out) and her ska-punk band No Doubt grew up near the original Disneyland (in Anaheim, California). To us it was much more a Tragic Kingdom than a magic one, all Hollywood and transparently capitalist, feeding girls fantasies that a rich prince on a white stallion was on his way any minute now if we just kept our heads down and played our assigned roles, never questioning gender norms and expectations, inherent sexism, and a system of patriarchy that ruined life for 51%+ of the world. Gwen played her role to fame and fortune, but at one time she helped write "Just a Girl" in subtle protest. OC/LA punks love-hated Mickey Mouse, Disney propaganda films, and the kingdom.

  • Was beloved American Walt Disney a well-known antisemite? Production manager Harry Tytle, and head of merchandising Kay Kamen, once quipped that Disney's New York office had "more Jews than The Book of Leviticus" [209]. Wikipedia editors (many of them being trained Zionist propagandists) will write anything to dissociate Walt from his Hitler fandom.
Little-known facts about Mickey Mouse that every Disney lover should know

It's Mickey Mouse Day! Where's Minnie Mouse?
Mickey Mouse is one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the world of entertainment, but there are still many little-known facts about him that even the biggest Disney fans might not be aware of. From his original name to all the way he's made history, here are some fascinating insights into everyone's favorite mouse. More

Get to or from LAX for only $5 (instructions)

LA-electric-travel.com/LAX-via-Metro-Rail; Shoestring Travel Editors, Wisdom Quarterly

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is L.A.'s biggest airport, one of the most used in the U.S.

It is far from many miles from most destinations, because L.A. is not really a city. It is an enormous megalopolis of about 50 cities and countless neighborhoods.

So people spend a lot on taxis (the worst choice), Uber and Lyft (convenient but overpriced choices), limousines (vans), and rides from friends and family. No public transportation was built all the way to the airport -- but this is all right because there is a cheap way to get to and from the airport.
In fact, there are three transportation options to get to and from LAX Airport into your destination in the city.
  • CHEAP: all Metro Rail (costs $1.50, $3.00, or $4.50)
  • REASONABLE: The FlyAway Bus and Metro Rail $8.50
  • EXPENSIVE: private taxi cab $45 and up.
How to get into L.A. using Metro Rail
Come see the walled off Hollywood star of TV star Donald Trump. No foreigners.
.
TRAIN: Getting into town from LAX via Metro Rail is very cheap. BUT it requires a free shuttle bus ride (5:00 AM to midnight) and changing Metro trains.

However, the change of trains is a good thing because once you're connected to the Metro rail system, you have easy access to explore the many diverse neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area, which include:
  • Hollywood
  • Beverly Hills
  • Santa Monica/Venice
  • other beaches
  • Pasadena
  • The Valley
  • Long Beach (next to OC)
  • Downtown L.A.
  • Hsi Lai Temple, Hacienda Heights

Police wife molests 14 y.o. student (video)

BURBANK, California (AP/HP) A California middle school teacher who's reportedly wracked with guilt over an affair with a 14-year-old boy has been returned to jail following a brief court appearance. Amy Victoria Beck had arrived in court with her lawyer on Wednesday for her arraignment, but it was postponed until March 25. She is jailed in lieu of $175,000 bail. Her lawyer, Michael Williamson, says she wants to stay there for the time being to avoid the media. Authorities say Beck arrived at Burbank police headquarters on Monday and said she was tormented with guilt. Police say she confessed to having sex with one of her male students last year. Prosecutors charged Beck with five counts, and she faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. More>>
