Like most of us around here, Gwen Stefani (who long since sold out) and her ska-punk band No Doubt grew up near the original Disneyland (in Anaheim, California). To us it was much more a Tragic Kingdom than a magic one, all Hollywood and transparently capitalist, feeding girls fantasies that a rich prince on a white stallion was on his way any minute now if we just kept our heads down and played our assigned roles, never questioning gender norms and expectations, inherent sexism, and a system of patriarchy that ruined life for 51%+ of the world. Gwen played her role to fame and fortune, but at one time she helped write "Just a Girl" in subtle protest. OC/LA punks love-hated Mickey Mouse, Disney propaganda films, and the kingdom.
Was beloved American Walt Disney a well-known antisemite? Production manager Harry Tytle, and head of merchandising Kay Kamen, once quipped that Disney's New York office had "more Jews than The Book of Leviticus" [209]. Wikipedia editors (many of them being trained Zionist propagandists) will write anything to dissociate Walt from his Hitler fandom.

¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor! ("Beautiful Hose, My Love")
The IT has finally been built with hole control
(MTV Documentary Films) The new documentary from the makers of Comedy Central's hit adult cartoon South Park is called ¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor! It's about the purchase of childhood dreamland, a Mexican restaurant in Denver, Colorado, that is so big, colorful, and busy with activities that it's really more a "Mexican Disneyland" than an eatery and cantina. It has everything...and a lot of problems only money, management and luck will be able to solve.
From Sweet Relief, MTV Documentary Films, and the producers of the Emmy®-nominated Six Days to Air, ¡CASA BONITA MI AMOR! tracks the rise, fall, and revival of the beloved Colorado landmark Casa Bonita by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Feb. 21, 2024: Welcome to The Truman Show. "Predictive programming" explains the uncanny ability of a long-running cartoon to foretell the country's future. It isn't likely chance because the predictions are too spot on. That the CIA, DHS, FBI, NSA, NSC, and other alphabet agencies are influencing storylines with useful idiots, operatives, sleeper agents, and even direct orders or "suggestions" is more likely. Let's let drawings and the future decide.

However, despite Larson's characteristic appreciation for the animal kingdom, there's one creature he was surprisingly never able to include in his work.
Hey, Mendelbaum, workin' hard or hardly workin'? - Shut up, Flanagan! Can't you see I'm busy?
.
Cow Dharma is bovine comedy.
Often featuring all manner of critters and creatures, Larson's work is famous for drawing surreal humor from the animal kingdom, but he was too frightened of censorship to use one specific species.
Serializing his final strip in 1995, Larson has published numerous collections of his cartoons in full-sized books, including his anthologies, dubbed The Far Side Gallery in parody of high art.
Great material is easy to milk.
One of these comic collections, published in 1989, is slightly different from all the rest, for it features a detailed account by Larson on his creative process and history, along with other curiosities of his career.

Comedy Central lands re-imagined Beavis and Butt-Head: The iconic duo is back!

Uh huh huh huh huh, smack: Beavis and Butt-Head is back! Comedy Central has announced an expansive deal with Emmy Award-winning creator of the show Mike Judge to re-imagine MTV’s seminal, Gen X-defining Beavis and Butt-Head, as well as additional spin-offs and specials.
If B&B were in Slayer
It's time to rock out -- and put our shirts over our heads. Beavis and Butt-Head, which premiered on MTV back in 1993, quickly became a force in pop culture and started a television revolution with its pure, unadulterated, satirical commentary on youth and adolescence.
The unprecedented concept, featuring two awkward teenage couch potatoes, immediately became part of the vernacular in a way no other adult animated series had before.
Will MTV be winning any awards for this?
Known for tackling social issues including bad music videos, teen obesity, workers’ rights, and media trends, the show connected with an entire generation, laying claim as one of the most innovative series in the modern-day zeitgeist.
In this new iteration Beavis and Butt-Head are entering a whole new Gen Z world. Comedy Central has ordered two seasons of the new series with meta-themes relatable to both new and old fans, Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids. B&B are parents with kids!
Judge is set to write, produce, and provide voice-over for both iconic characters, just as he originally did. Check MTV News for more Beavis and Butt-Head updates.More
Every day The New Yorker has a cartoon, often a very funny one. There's a caption contest, too, which often produces the funniest final product. There's also a new cartoon editor down at the esteemed publication's New York offices. (If there's one thing NY is in agreement about along with nearly everyone in California it's that Trump wears a big target). What can the old editor teach the new so that the comedy keeps coming? Find out, and submit to the contest while you're at it. More
Watch: In this episode, Bob Mankoff and The New Yorker's newly anointed Associate Cartoon Editor Colin Stokes review celebrity submissions to the caption contest.
In the world of cartoons and drawing there are hundreds of styles and different types unique to the artist -- (like Butch Hartman or Craig McCracken or Lauren Faust. Then there's anime and manga, with the many styles that come along with them from Naruto to Bleach. If an artist likes all of these styles, and they are fun to duplicate and draw, how will you develop an independent style that is uniquely you? Well, it's easier than you think. More
