Dalai Lama says he's reincarnated Goddess

Dalai Lama: Not trans, I'll reincarnate as a Western woman, a hot one, so people will listen.

Manjushri, Chenrezig, Vajrapani
It's like we always say at Wisdom Quarterly, Who needs the historical Buddha's instructions when you can have magic and mystery in Tibet and lots of political mumbo jumbo from a corrupt lapsed empire and its pope-king? The Himalayas were like that until Mao's Army crashed in and crushed Lhasa, the Oracle told the leader to get out quick, and ruling elite made a deal with the devils (CIA). Tibet still wields disproportionate influence in the region, now annexed and part of the PRC. Who has time for a tradition akin to American hippies turning their backs on their parents' Christianity to become dirty hippie "Jesus Freaks"? Of course they would want to because who wouldn't want to get back-to-basics and away from corrupt institutions and an out-of-control clergy? If faced with organized religion, do what seekers like Siddhartha have always done: become a shaman (shraman) on a quest for a personally verified experience of ultimate truth. If one has to do it at all, do it right, spiritual exploration over religion rules. Who could possibly choose the holy Roman Empire's version of Catholicism ("Universalism") instead of the direct teachings of an entheogen-consuming, just-back-from-India, dirty, Jewish, Essene, vegetarian Nazarene adept who spent time in a Buddhist monastery and in ashrams and secret initiation site training and preparing for 18 years?
But many will choose the institution, as most of Tibet (a massive region a quarter to half the size of China) did in centuries past. But the real practice of Buddhism involves moving beyond comfortable institutions, rituals, and dogma and onto the mat for purification of heart/mind and view. That's when the real progress begins. Few are probably ready for that, so let's get back to Tibetan politics with the pope-king who is now just "pope" of one Tibetan school or sect, the Gelug Yellow Hats.

Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra in Epstein Files

I had tough choices to make to save my empire.
You have something to say for yourself, Your "Holiness"? Is this why you said that if you are reborn as a female, you want to be a "hot one"? Ha ha, what a card. Anything you'd like to confess, Holy One? Is it true, as the investigative journalist Michael Wolff says, that you were at Jeffrey Epstein's New York apartment, and that you planned to visit his Pedophile Island, perhaps riding in the Lolita Express to get there with your armed guards, CIA handlers, Jewish friends, professional Zionist detachments, Hollywood bigwigs, accountants, and retinue? Or how is it? Any children you'd like to have suck your tongue again, my or our underage sons? Anything you'd like to say for yourself, the floor is yours -- and remember, you're on an international stage.

China's 1 billion uncounted Buddhists

(Chinese Life with Judy & Mao) Is China really non-religious? In Beijing's most crowded temple
List of religions by size (Wikipedia)a

Who can say? One billion or more Buddhists in China go uncounted in official figures because, officially, all Chinese in China are communist atheists with no interest in religion, just a love of business, STEM, and tech.
India, birthplace of Buddhism, unmentioned
Who admits tradition when the census comes a knocking and it's time to make money, pile up profits, and get more stuff? Capitalism rules here.
The exact same thing happens in the United States, and any American can see it at the largest Buddhist temple in the western hemisphere, "Going West" (Hsi Lai) Temple, in Los Angeles, California:

Government and politics in China
Who cares about Buddhist Shaolin Temple of Kung Fu but tourists from around the world?
.
Most earthlings live either in India or China
"China" is actually called the People's Republic of China (PRC). Officially, it is a communist state governed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Officially, the CCP is guided by socialism with Chinese characteristics, which it describes as Marxism adapted to Chinese circumstances [184].

The 14th Dalai Lama is considered a demon.
The Chinese constitution states that the PRC "is a socialist state governed by a people's democratic dictatorship that is led by the working class and based on an alliance of workers and peasants" and that "the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party" [185].

Enormous modern Buddha statue, Henan, China
The PRC officially characterizes itself as a democracy—more specifically, a whole-process people's democracy—that is organized around the [Russian] Leninist principle of democratic centralism [186].

However, the [empire or] country is commonly described as an authoritarian one-party state and a dictatorship [187, 188] with some of the world's heaviest restrictions in many civil rights areas, most notably AGAINST:
  • freedom of the press,
  • freedom of assembly,
  • free formation of social organizations,
  • freedom of religion, and
  • freedom of the Internet [189].
"Freedom of religion"? Not for Tibetans, Uyghurs
China has consistently been ranked among the lowest as an "authoritarian regime" by the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index, ranking at 145th out of 167 countries in 2024 [190].

But other sources suggest that terming China as "authoritarian" does not sufficiently account for the multiple consultation mechanisms that exist in the Chinese governmental system [191].

Religion in China

China's top Buddhist Goddess
Freedom of religion is guaranteed by China's constitution, although religious organizations [like peaceful Falun Gong] that lack official approval can be subject to state persecution [198].

The government of the country is officially atheist, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) requires its members to be [or at least say they are officially] atheist [479].

Religious affairs and issues in the country are overseen by the National Religious Affairs Administration, under the CCP's United Front Work Department [480].

The "Three Teachings" of [spiritual] Buddhism, [social] Confucianism, and [philosophical] Taoism have historically shaped Chinese culture [481, 482], enriching a spiritual and philosophical framework of traditional religion that harks back to the early Shang and Zhou Dynasty.

Chinese folk religion, which is framed by the Three Teachings and by other traditions [483], consists in allegiance to the shen [Japanese kami], who can be:
  • deities of the surrounding nature or
  • ancestral principles of human groups,
  • concepts of civility,
  • culture heroes and heroines, many of whom feature in Chinese mythology and history [484].
Among the most popular cults of folk religion are those of
In the early decades of the 21st century, the Chinese government has been engaged in a rehabilitation of folk cults—formally recognizing them as "folk beliefs" as distinguished from doctrinal religions [487] and often reconstructing them into forms of "highly curated" civil religion [488]—as well as in a national and international promotion of Buddhism [489].

China is the future: 'Looper' was right

Who will be the pan-Asian inhabitants of the future Empire of China when 1984 comes true?

Chinese futuristic engineering: most amazing wonders
(Lifeder) Ahead of the USA and Russia, the PRC (People's Republic of China) has had its proficiency in mathematics and other STEM subjects pay off. Is there space alien technology afoot or just better chips and AI computing? Maybe 5,000+ years of civilization has finally paid off again to make China the world leader in technology, complexity, advancement, and cultural cohesion, seamlessly blending Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.

(Dwarkesh Clips) Nov. 2, 2025: Military historian Sarah Paine. In the full lecture, military historian Sarah Paine explains how Russia—and specifically Dictator Stalin—completely derailed China’s rise, slowing the mega-country down for over a century. This lecture is of particular interest because, in my opinion, the Chinese Civil War is one of the top three most important events of the 20th century. To understand why it transpired as it did, one needs to understand Russian Dictator Stalin’s role in it.

China on Tibet under CIA's Dalai Lama

China, it call me a devil, like this, ha ha.
Serfs' Emancipation Day
, observed annually on March 28th, is a holiday in the Tibet Autonomous Region of [occupied] China that celebrates the emancipation of "serfs" [commoners under the Dalai Lama] in [Free] Tibet.

The holiday was adopted by the Tibetan legislature on January 19th, 2009, and it was promulgated that same year.

In bed with The Company hoping for peace?
In modern Tibetan history, the Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai declared the dissolution of the Tibetan government on March 28, 1959, and he replaced it with the temporary Preparatory Committee for the Tibet Autonomous Region (PCTAR), with the [kidnapped, neutralized, disappeared, and switched] Panchen Lama also replacing the Dalai Lama as its acting chairman [1]. Travel to N. Tibet: Road to Heaven

China's invasion took lots more land than Lhasa

Greater Tibet [7] is a region in the western part of East Asia, covering much of the Tibetan Plateau and spanning about 470,000 square miles (1,200,000 km2) [8].

It is the homeland of the largely Vajrayana Buddhist/Bon Tibetan people.

Also resident on the plateau are other ethnic groups such as Mongols, Monpa, Tamang, Qiang, Sherpa, Lhoba, and since the 20th century the invading Mahayana Buddhist Han Chinese (that account for more than a billion uncounted Buddhists in the world due to official communist atheism) and Muslim Hui [9].

Tibet is the highest region on Earth, with an average elevation of 14,000 feet (4,380 m) [10, 11].

Located in the Himalayas, the highest elevation in Tibet is Mount Everest (part of which is in neighboring Nepal), Earth's highest mountain (though not the tallest), rising 29,000 feet (8,848 m) above sea level [12]. More

Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism
Why do monastic robes differ in color?
Tibetan Buddhism [a] is the form of Buddhism practiced in Tibet, Bhutan, and Mongolia. It also has a sizable number of adherents in the areas surrounding the Himalayas, including the Indian regions of Ladakh, Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as in Nepal.

Smaller groups of practitioners can be found in Central Asia, some regions of China such as Northeast China, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and some regions of Russia, such as Tuva, Buryatia, and Kalmykia.

Tibetan Buddhism evolved as a form of Mahāyāna Buddhism, stemming from the latest stages of Indian Buddhism (which included many Vajrayāna elements). It thus preserves many Indian Buddhist tantric practices of the post-Gupta early medieval period (500–1200 CE), along with numerous native Tibetan developments [1, 2].

Do I regret my CIA involvement as Pope-King?
In the pre-modern era, Tibetan Buddhism spread outside of Tibet primarily due to the influence of the Mongol Yuan dynasty (1271–1368), founded by Kublai Khan, who ruled China, Mongolia, and parts of Siberia.

In the Modern era, Tibetan Buddhism has spread outside of Asia because of the efforts of the Tibetan diaspora (post-Chinese invasion, 1959 onwards). As the Dalai Lama escaped to India (Dharamshala), the Indian subcontinent is also known for its renaissance of Tibetan Buddhism monasteries, including the rebuilding of the three major monasteries of the Gelug tradition.

Apart from classical Mahāyāna Buddhist practices like the Ten Perfections, Tibetan Buddhism also includes tantric practices, such as deity yoga and the Six Dharmas of Naropa, as well as methods that are seen as transcending tantra, like Dzogchen. Its main goal is Buddhahood [3, 4].

The primary language of scriptural study in this tradition is classical Tibetan. Tibetan Buddhism has four major schools, namely... More

Chinese Buddhism
Han Buddhism
(漢傳佛教, 汉传佛教, Hànchuán Fójiào, Hàn-thoân Hu̍t-kàu) is the Chinese form of Mahayana Buddhism. The Chinese Buddhist canon [1] draws from the traditions of Confucianism and Taoism as well as the rituals of local folk religions. Chinese Buddhism emphasizes the study of Mahayana sutras and treatises, such as the Lotus Sutra, Flower Ornament Sutra, Vimalakirtī Sutra, Nirvana Sutra, and Amitābha Sutra [2, 3]. Chinese Buddhism is the largest institutionalized religion in mainland China [4]. More

World's largest Buddhist university town

Explore world’s largest hidden monastic town to get a glimpse of Tibetan monastic life
Sichuan's Giant Leshan Buddha
Tibet Travel (Tibet Vista) May 23, 2025: Today, we visit somewhere truly incredible — a place that feels like it is from another world. Deep in the mountains of western Sichuan, China, is a vegetarian Tibetan Buddhist university called Larung Gar* in the world’s largest and nearly hidden monastic college town.

Few may have heard of it — as it’s not easy to get to — but once it is seen, viewers will understand why it’s so special.

Imagine a valley completely covered with thousands of tiny red cabins, all packed tightly together on the hillsides. These are the homes of Tibetan monks (lama) and nuns (ani) who come here from all over the Tibetan Plateau to study and practice Vajrayana Buddhism.
  • The ruins of Nalanda Buddhist University
    NALANDA
was a renowned Buddhist university or "great monastery" (maha vihara) in ancient and medieval Magadha (modern Bihar), eastern India, widely considered among the greatest centers of learning in the ancient world and often referred to as "the world's first residential university" [9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14], like Timbuktu in Africa and much older than Oxford, but destroyed by Muslim marauders. It was located near the city of Rajagriha (Rajgir), roughly 90 kms (56 miles) southeast of Pataliputra (Patna), operating for almost a thousand years from 427 CE until around 1400 CE [15][16] and playing a vital role in promoting the patronage of arts, culture, and academics. More
This video is a look around Larung Gar, the heart of Seda (Sertar or Serthar) — the massive Buddhist academy that has been quietly growing since the 1980s.
  • From here, we will save the world by magic
    SERTAR
(Tibetan གསེར་ཐར་རྫོང།, Chinese 色达县) is a county in the northwest of Sichuan province, China, bordering Qinghai province to the north. It is one of the 18 counties under the administration of the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, covering 9,340 square kms (3,606 square miles). Sêrtar means "Golden Freedom" [Golden Horse?] in Tibetan. It lies in the southeast of the Tibetan Plateau in the historical region of Kham. The vast majority of the population is Tibetan, followed by Han Chinese. Sêrtar comprises 17 towns and 66 villages and is the home of:
  • *LARUNG GAR - Larung Gar Buddhist Institute, the largest Tibetan Buddhist institute in the world, formally named the Serta Larung Five Sciences Buddhist Academy. The institute was founded by Lama Jigme Phuntsok in 1980, beginning with just a few monks. It now houses tens of thousands of monks and pilgrims from around the world [2], which constitute the vast majority of the Sêrtar population. Most monks spend 6 to 13 years completing their training. The institute, divided into two main segments and spread over just a few square kms, is located in a valley about 15 kms from the town of Sêrtar. A permit is occasionally required for non-Chinese nationals to enter the institute. Sêrtar is remotely located and requires more than half a day's driving if travelling from Chengdu via Maerkang. It is also possible to travel from Xining, the capital of Qinghai. Sêrtar is at an altitude of 4,100 meters (13,500 feet above sea level), so temperatures range between a maximum of 30 °C (86 °F) in summer and a minimum of −30 °C (−22 °F) in winter. More
It is a place of devotion, discipline, and deep spiritual life, hidden away from the outside world. Let’s go through the narrow paths between the red homes to see what daily life looks like here and try to get a sense of what it feels like to be in such a peaceful spiritual environment.

We’ll visit the main prayer halls, catch a glimpse of the study sessions, and have a chance to see some of the unique local traditions.

For those interested in Tibetan culture, Himalayan Vajrayana (Tantrayana, Mantrayana, Esoteric Bon-infused) Buddhism, or those who just love discovering places most travelers never get to see, this is it. This is going to be something very special. Let’s explore Seda.
