This is a clip of Joyce discussing the various pathways to transgenderism (and de-transitioning by people who regret surgery, hormone blockers, mastectomies, and irreversible physical harm by the medical field) for teenage girls, young men, and older men in 2023.

White NY police kill Black Daniel Prude (video)

Why do many citizens say "F the police"?
Mr. Daniel Prude was made brain dead during the incident and later died (March 30) in the hospital, never having recovered. He was eventually taken off life support seven days after his police encounter. Mr. Prude's brother phoned for help on March 23 at 3:00 am, after Daniel left his house in Rochester, New York in the snow, wearing nothing but underwear.
.
He was behaving erratically, stripping his clothes off as he walked through the streets and -- according to police, who are likely lying to bolster their defense -- smashing windows. Four officers responded. They ordered the mentally deranged Prude to get on the ground, which he did, and they handcuffed him then killed him.Prude yelled that he had COVID-19, so they put a "spit hood" over his head then laughed while he yelled profanities at them. When he tried to get to his feet, three killers dogpiled on him on the cold and wet pavement.
After three minutes of pinning him down [to ensure he was lifeless?], they noticed bodily fluid flowing out of his mouth. And they also noticed he was unconscious [rather than dead], so they took him to the hospital. But he never woke up and was taken off life support three days later, all of which amounts to HOMICIDE.
Indeed, the medical examiner ruled their actions a homicide, on account of complications caused from asphyxia (suffocation) from police "restraint" (torture), as well as PCP intoxication. The four killers remain on the force, and it's unclear if they are in the field or on cushy desk duty.

Mara spoke these words while standing in the presence of the Buddha, the "Awakened One." To Mara speaking in this way, the Buddha replied:
"You who are a friend of the negligent, O Evil One. For what reason have you come here? Those who still have use for merit [because they are not yet enlightened and liberated], Mara may consider worthwhile addressing.
"I have confidence and energy and wisdom. Being thus bent on striving, why do you ask me to live? This wind will wither the currents of the rivers; why should not my exertion dry up even the blood? When the blood dries up, the bile and phlegm wither.

Hey, STFU. I'm the Greek god Eros anew
Latin cupido started out as a near-synonym of cupiditas, but it came to stand for the specific personification of carnal desire, the counterpart of Greek Eros (the erotic "god"); this is the source of our familiar and rather domesticated (Roman god) Cupid. A strengthened form of cupere (concupiscere, meaning "to desire ardently) yielded the noun concupiscentia in the Late Latin of the Christian church.

- The Buddha's Encounters with Mara the Tempter In the typical style of this Indian Cupid, the first weapons used are the five flower-arrows. When they fail Måra thinks: “He is not worthy of my flower-shaft, nor my arrow 'gladdener,' nor the sending of my daughter Rati (to tempt him); he deserves alarms, rebukes, and blows from these gathered armies of demons.

Interested in my daughters, Sid?
Mara appears in the texts both as a real person (a deity called Mara Devaputra) and as personification of harm and passions, of the totality of worldly existence, and of death.
Later exclusively Buddhist Pāli language literature often speaks of a "Fivefold Māra" (pañca-māra):
- the deity Mara (devaputta-māra)
- the defilements as Mara (kilesa-mara)
- the aggregates as Mara (khandha-mara)
- the karma-formations as Mara (karma-mara)
- Māra as death (maccu-mara).

These daughters do not interest me.
According to tradition, when the Bodhisatta (Buddha-to-be) was seated under the bodhi-tree, Māra tried in vain to obstruct his attainment of enlightenment, first by frightening him with demons and so on then with his Three Daughters' allurements.
This episode is called "Māra's War" (māra-yuddha). For seven years Mara followed the Buddha, looking for any weakness in him, that is, six years before the enlightenment and one year after it (Sn. v. 446).
He also tried to induce the Buddha to pass away into final nirvana without teaching the Dharma and also when the time for the Buddha's final nirvana actually came, he urged him on. But the Buddha acted on his own insight in both cases. See DN 16. For (3) Mara as the aggregates, see S. XXIII, 1, 11, 12, 23.

Mindful Sexuality, Erotic Intelligence
Deborah Tull (againstthestream.org); CC Liu, Dhr. Seven, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly

We often leave our sexuality at the door when we enter a meditation retreat. Likewise we often leave mindfulness out of our sex life, creating an unnecessary division.
This retreat will be held in the context of silence and will include meditation, writing, mindful inquiry, a Dharma talk, and facilitated group-discussion.
Deborah Eden Tull is founder of Mindful Living Revolution. She teaches the integration of compassionate awareness into every aspect of our lives. She is a Zen meditation and mindfulness (vipassana) teacher, public speaker, author, activist, and sustainability consultant. She spent seven years as a Buddhist nun at a silent monastery and teaches "Engaged Dharma" practice nationally. See more at deborahedentull.com.
