The End Times? The World is Ending!

Buddha's Wisdom

There's an orange clown on the TV every day!
Will the world end? How will the world end? When will the world end? Why will the world end? Questions, questions. Of course, the world will end. Not any time soon, but never mind about that. It's always ending, constantly hurtling towards destruction. "Change is the only constant," some wise person once said. That person was talking about what the Buddha called anicca. We translate this as "impermanence," but that's very limited and misleading. We prefer flux, dissolution, or radical impermanence, though "change" also works.

The idea is that, that something will change is no kind of message to the world. Of course, things are impermanent. We all know that. Only a child would think things are going to stay the same. (Guilty! And we're old enough to know better). It might be better to investigate how things are going to change because that sort of explains the why. The when is easy! Right now. Now. The eternal now. When is a mountainside not crumbling? Even as geological forces send it up, it is already disintegrating. When aren't human cells dying? They are always dispatching and falling off. That's what it means to have a body, though we don't much notice, know, or want to know.

How are things changing? Little by little until they give way to a noticeable amount. The more closely we investigate and notice, the more and more we become aware of when and how this is happening. It can become so upsetting that we stop clinging. Why, being ourselves impermanent, would we chase and cling to impermanent things?

It's all in the mind?

The Fire Sermon
Once upon a time, the Buddha was walking along the river and he came upon 1,000 fire worshippers with their matted locks or jatas, wandering ascetics in search of truth. They saw him and were moved by his gravitas, charisma, and appearance. He himself was a wandering ascetic but a Scythian (Shakyian) from the West, serene, and delightful to look upon. What could he possibly have to say about ultimate truth? See "The Fire Sermon."

Hitler, Beav & Butt, Trump Peace Prize?

You and the Dems want War. I want Putin Peace.
Trump gave a good speech, probably the best of his life. Nobel Peace Prize? Why not? War criminal Obama got a preemptive one then lined up war after war for his overseers. Is he a moronic idiot? Maybe. But that seems to work in his favor. He can keep doing his NLP tricks and no one seems to notice or mind, thinking he's just being dumb. All of his arguments are tautologies, not arguments at all, slogans with self-closing loops. Hitler did that.

Reduce anxiety by not worrying. Here's how. - Jimmy Dore keeps it brief: Liar Trump truths it

Trump's audience, which doesn't have the bandwidth to pay that much attention, loves it. It's simple. It's to the point then repeats the point. It doesn't get bogged down with facts or logical thought processes. It's about assumptions and gut feelings, implicit biases and racist/sexist tendencies. Republicans have been said to prefer this over the mealy-mouthed mishmash of Democrats. Only Billy Clinton and B.S. Obama could speak well. And not since Ronnie Reagan has anyone connected with business interests, right wingers, movers and shakers, and the military. (This is not Trump's brainchild; he had a script written for him called Project 2025).

I got money and power. What's next, Mars?
By aligning with multi-billionaire lonE ksuM (Lone Kissum-up?) and his gang of youths with computer skills and prying eyes looking at everyone's private data, he gets to take credit for change, innovation, and disruption of the Swamp. He's been lying about draining it for a long time. Now he's doing something, something insiders have been wanting to do for a long time. Trump is the face of it but not the brains, just like Reagan. And what does the nominal opposition (Left in name only) have? Old man Bernie Sanders who can't afford denture paste. *Exhale* It's pathetic. The party of Pelosi and the Squad's AOC, Waters and Kucinich... Where is Kucinich? Get an elderly caveman with a cane to heckle him at the onset of two hours of coherence, that only seems to have helped Trump. Democrats looking down at their phones in boredom through the address, that was funny. Boo for the Bad Man. Yay for the sign holders? Jimmy Dore, what is your analysis?

Malcolm X turns 100: speech (May 19)

Heroic American Malcolm X
Malcolm (born Malcolm Little, later becoming el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz) X (May 19, 1925–Feb. 21, 1965) was an African American revolutionary, Muslim minister (a student of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad), and a human rights activist.

He was not necessarily a civil rights activist, however, yet he was nevertheless a prominent figure during the civil rights movement until his assassination in 1965.

If you have no critics, you'll have no success.
A spokesman for the Nation of Islam (NOI) until 1964, after which he left the movement, he was a vocal American advocate for Black empowerment and the promotion of Islam [rather than Christianity] within the African American community.

A controversial figure accused of preaching violent self-defense, Malcolm X is also a celebrated figure within African American and Muslim communities for his pursuit of racial justice. More

Happy Birthday, Wolfgang Mozart!

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (January 27, 1756–December 5, 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical period. Despite his short life, his rapid pace of composition and proficiency from an early age resulted in more than 800 works representing virtually every Western classical genre of his time. Many of these compositions are acknowledged as pinnacles of the symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral repertoire. Mozart is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music, with his music admired for its "melodic beauty, its formal elegance and its richness of harmony and texture." More

Ghost Dance (Native American religion)

Wovoka (Jack Wilson)
The Ghost Dance (Caddo Nanissáanah [1]) of 1890 is a ceremony incorporated into numerous Native American belief systems.

According to the millenarian teachings of the Northern Paiute spiritual leader Wovoka (renamed Jack Wilson), proper practice of the dance will reunite the living with spirits of the dead, bring the spirits to guard on their behalf, end European westward expansion, and bring peace, prosperity, and unity to Native American peoples throughout the region [2].

I intend to dance again to see the ancestors.
The basis for it is the circle dance, a traditional Native American dance [3, 4]. It was first practiced by the Nevada Northern Paiute in 1889. The practice swept throughout much of the Western United States, quickly reaching areas of California and Oklahoma. As it spread from its original source, different tribes synthesized selective aspects of the ritual with their own unique beliefs.

The Ghost Dance has been associated with Wovoka's prophecy of an end to colonial expansion while preaching goals of clean living, an honest life, and cross-cultural cooperation by Native Americans.

Practice of the movement was believed to have contributed to Lakota resistance to assimilation under the Dawes Act. The Lakota variation on the Ghost Dance tended towards millenarianism [5], an innovation that distinguished the Lakota interpretation from Jack Wilson's original teachings. The Caddo still practice the Ghost Dance today [6]. More

Visit to Turkmenistan, Central Asia (video)

There is a Gateway to Hell, a major tourist draw in Turkmenistan (Darvaza gas crater),
The dictator upstairs is limiting tourists to the entrance, I hear. Here he is. Let's ask him.
  • World-famous Afghan Buddhas of Bamiyan
Buddhism in Central Asia may sound strange, but Buddhism really began in Central Asia (a place some might call the Stans), where the Buddha was born and raised: Scythia, Saka, Gandhara. While legend has him in Nepal, Dr. Ranajit Pal and archeology corrects that notion.
  • Ancient Gandhara is some modern Stans
The largest Buddhist monuments and monasteries in the world are in modern Afghanistan, and they did not arrive there via the Silk Road transmission but had already been there even as Bihar was populated with so many Vihar's that it got its name as an Indian state. They were celebrating their native son, who returned seven years after he set off on his quest. There was no "India" at that time, only Magadha and other independent kingdoms that were united two centuries later by Buddhist Emperor Ashoka. In these strange and little-known countries there are Buddhist artifacts that make little sense until one places "Scythiamuni" Buddha in his proper context, in a land from in and around Indo-Saka-stan.

Ad crushes Trump's ego, lawyer quits (video)

New footage of Trump in sexual assault case goes viral
Trump is sick and stinks like me.
(The Vote) New footage of Donald Trump related to his sexual assault case went viral as he begins his criminal trial for election interference in the furtherance of paying off a prostitute as he cheated on his wife shortly after the birth of his youngest son, Baron, and then lied about it as a legitimate business expense on documents submitted to the government? He sells Bibles, smells horribly, and evacuates in his pants because he cannot hold it in? Narcissism and megalomania

The Messiah has come (again) and gone

A Jewish Messiah? The Rebbe (Heilman/Friedman)

“Could the Chabad Rebbe be Moshiach?”
(collivedotcom) May 22, 2023: Rabbi Dr. Yitzchak Breitowitz, a senior lecturer at the Ohr Sameyach Yeshiva in Jerusalem, was asked whether the Chabad Rebbe (Rabbi) can be Moshiach (Messiah). Here’s what he answered.

Did the Rebbe ever explicitly declare himself to be Moshiach (the Messiah)?
(Stump The Rabbi) July 3, 2019: Stump the Rabbi: Rabbi Noam Wagner. Did the (Chabad) Rebbe  (Menachem Mendel Schneerson) ever explicitly declare himself to be Moshiach (the Messiah)? To ask a question and for more answers, visit: stumptherabbi.org. This project was made possible by The Chanin Fund Reliable Fast Cash, LLC reliablefastcash.com STR 400.

  • We'll starve them then fly them to the Congo...
QUESTION: Rabbi, we have a question: Does the state of Israel have a right to commit genocide on the Palestinians and ethnically cleanse them from their homeland, using such means as forced relocation, starvation, aerial bombardment of civilians, and lying about it in the media?
  • ANSWER: I don't want to get in trouble with the authorities, who already attack Mea Shearim, Jerusalem, on a regular basis. So let's let Neturei Karta Rabbi answer that one: NKUSA.org
The Rebbe: The Life and Afterlife of Menachem Mendel Schneerson
Authors Samuel Heilman and Menachem Friedman have 4.2 out of 5 stars with 78 ratings for this biography. It is the story of one of the most compelling Jewish religious leaders of modern times.

From the 1950s until his death in 1994, Menachem Mendel Schneerson ― revered by his followers worldwide simply as "the Rebbe (rabbi) ― built the Lubavitcher Movement from a relatively small sect within Hasidic Judaism into the powerful force in Jewish life that it is today.

Swept away by his expectation that the Messiah was coming, he came to believe that HE could deny death and change history.

Samuel Heilman and Menachem Friedman paint an unforgettable portrait of Russian Rabbi Schneerson, showing how he reinvented himself from an aspiring French-trained electrical engineer into a charismatic leader who believed that he and his Lubavitcher Hasidic emissaries could transform the world.

They reveal how his messianic convictions ripened and how he attempted to bring the ancient idea of a day of redemption onto the modern world's agenda.

Heilman and Friedman also trace what happened after the Rebbe's death, by which time many of his followers had come to think of him as the Messiah himself. [He did not say so or, at least, not in so many words.]

The Rebbe tracks Schneerson's remarkable life from his birth in Russia, to his student days in Berlin and Paris, to his rise to global renown in New York, where he developed and preached his powerful spiritual message from the group's gothic mansion [his house] in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

This compelling book demonstrates how Schneerson's embrace of traditionalism and American-style modernity made him uniquely suited to his messianic mission.

Playboy king's lifestyle leads to Thailand riots

Inside the life of the Thai king who swapped his crown for a crop top tee-shirt
(60 Minutes Australia) "The King and Thai" (2020) presents a regal dilemma to consider: Is it right for a king with 70 million subjects and wealth in excess of 70 billion dollars to be seen frolicking around in a ridiculous crop top rather than a crown?

Many citizens of Thailand are outraged by the skimpy outfits their fresh monarch, King Vajiralongkorn, loves to wear. And they’re also furious at other aspects of his outlandish lifestyle – his womanizing, his alleged brutality, and the fact he seems to prefer the crisp air of the Bavarian Alps to the stifling humidity of the royal capital of Bangkok.

Tom Steinfort reports that there is also the small matter of Fufu, a pet poodle the king controversially appointed as the chief marshal of the Thai Air Force.
For 40 years, 60 Minutes has been telling Australians the world’s greatest stories, tales that changed history, the nation, and the lives of its citizens. Reporters Liz Hayes, Tom Steinfort, Tara Brown, Liam Bartlett, and Sarah Abo look past the headlines because there is always a bigger picture. Trump has "total" power, says Trump (video)

The Guardian, Daily White House PR Briefing; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly
(Fox 10) T silences a "female reporter" who dares to question his authority.

Will Trump also be getting his own sneaker line?
Hitler (and Balsonaro, Than Shwe, Duterte, etc.) would be proud. Pres. Trump asserts ultimate authority, total power, for he is a monarch with autocratic rule able to boss around the governors of individual states at his will and whim. His defense is "the federal government has the power."' And the president is the leader of the federal government, so he has total power.

Pres. Obama was a nice charismatic trickster.
And "we'll write papers about this so we don't even have to talk about it." Ha ha ha, he does have the power he claims IF no one challenges him about it. He will shut down the country, and He alone will open it when he wants, and nobody else can -- is his point. His power is absolute, like a showrunner/dictator in a reality show.
