Luxury fashion brand Christian Dior is facing boycott calls on social media after Turkish and Israeli sources reported on Monday that it had replaced American model and longtime brand ambassadorBella Hadid with Israeli model May Tager in its latest ad campaign.
Neither Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, nor the brand, has commented on her alleged replacement, which was initially reported in Türkiye’s Yeni Safak and an Israeli blog called Fashion Forward, raising questions of the reports’ veracity even as there were calls to #BoycottDior on X (formerly Twitter).
Writing in her first Instagram post following the declaration of war, Hadid vowed not to be intimidated, explaining, “The people and children of Palestine, especially in Gaza, cannot afford our silence. We are not brave – they are.”
The model emphasized that she mourned for Israeli families who had lost loved ones on October 7, as well as the residents of Gaza who endured “generational trauma” above and beyond the immediate crisis.

“It is important to understand the hardship of what it is to be Palestinian, in a world that sees us as nothing more than terrorists resisting peace,” she wrote, describing her family’s suffering during the Nakba [the Catastrophe], the forced expulsion of 750,000 Palestinians from their land in 1948 by the founders of the [settler colonial] state of Israel.
"There is an urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza that must be attended to. Wars have laws – and they must be upheld, no matter what."
Bella Hadid, whose siblings Gigi and Anwar are also models, revealed in 2021 that she had lost a significant amount of work by supporting Palestine and had even had friends leave her over her advocacy. While Dior has faced calls to drop her before, the brand did not previously give in. More

He revolutionized progressive rock music as the founder-member and the creative force behind Pink Floyd who today continues to sell out the biggest venues across the world.
Read the Balfour Declaration: It protects the indigenous Palestinian Arabs, Bedouins, and others present in the land of Palestine (future state of Israel)
His arena tour of the U.S., "This Is Not A Drill," kicked off in July of 2022. It is described by Waters as “a groundbreaking new rock 'n roll/cinematic extravaganza...” which is a "stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to love, protect, and share our precious and precarious planet home."
It is also no exaggeration to describe Wasters as a human rights warrior, who continues to champion the rights of marginalized peoples across the world, from Palestine to Ecuador.
Mark Seddon is in conversation with Waters, discussing Israel's ongoing assault on innocent Palestinian children [who are guilty of being Arab and existing], as well as the latest news from the region.
They also explore what is being done to challenge Israel's apartheid and settler colonialism around the world today, looking towards the growing Free Palestine student movement, the UK Labour Party conference hall, the ongoing occupation of Israeli weapons factories, and towards the stands and players of elite football bearing the Palestinian flag.

Laal Singh Chaddha movie review and analysis
This movie is a labor of love...that truly misses the mark. #laalsinghchaddha starring #aamirkhan #kareenakapoor #nagachaitanya. It really does underdeliver the epic that was Forrest Gump. It's a #bollywood movie that will meet the fate of most films this year. What went wrong? Here it is, the (panning) review of Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan, superstar Kareena Kapoor, and Naga Chaitanya.
Writer-director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JoJo Rabbit, a Nazi Era World War II satire.
The story follows a lonely German Nazi Youth boy, "JoJo" (Roman Griffin Davis), whose Nazi world-view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in the attic.
Aided only by his loveable imaginary friend, German Reich Führer and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind, super-patriotic, white nationalism.
(Cinema Blend) When Disney acquired Fox earlier this year, reports also surfaced that Jojo Rabbit’s new parent company [Disney] was worried about the movie fitting in with their [Disney] branding. Scarlett Johansson recently shot down the reports, explaining how “excited” Disney execs are about the dark comedy at a dinner she attended following the acquisition. Jojo Rabbit may have controversial roots, but it’s perhaps part of the reason why the movie is getting so much buzz ahead of Oscar season. The movie is one of Toronto International Film Festival’s most anticipated films. Stay tuned for reactions following its premiere this Sunday, September 8.More

“The wide spectrum of support we’re seeing for Congresswoman
Ilhan Omar indicates the growing number of people who will no longer be
silenced in their criticism of Israel,” said JVP Executive Director Rebecca Vilkomerson. “Ilhan
Omar’s defiance against the pro-Israel lobby and her defense of our
Constitutional right to boycott make it it clear: It’s a new day in
Congress.”
Rep. Omar is the latest in a long line of outspoken defenders of
Palestinian human rights to suffer attacks and a bad-faith smear
campaign by right-wing politicians and mainstream Jewish establishment
figures. More
